00:00Looking to keep the kids entertained during the summer holidays? We've got
00:04you covered with a line-up of fun, creative and free activities across the
00:09city and just beyond. How about an alternative way to discover the
00:13history of Liverpool? The cities are famous for the Liver Bird, a mythical
00:17creature we're synonymous with. Arts Groupie are bringing the bird to life
00:21this summer. We're doing our Liver Bird Safari which is a fantastic family fun day.
00:26A two-hour trek around Liverpool spotting liver birds. Now I'm not talking the
00:32liver birds that are on the bins and the lampposts but actually in the fabric of
00:36the buildings. There's over a hundred liver birds and not just the famous that
00:40are on the UK's first skyscraper down at the pierhead, the liver building.
00:45Limiting screen time can be an issue however whether it's reading, rambling or
00:50getting right amongst it. Liverpool's packed with ways to enjoy a tech-free summer and
00:55make memories that don't come with a battery warning. You know the city is
00:59wonderful. When we go abroad we go around all these old churches and
01:03museums. We don't really value what we've got on our doorstep. The city is
01:08marvellous and the Liver Bird Safari allows you to be able to look at the
01:12buildings that we walk past every day with a completely different perspective.
01:16And we've got that walk and many other walks. All you know get your thousand
01:20steps in, your two thousand steps, how many steps you want to do. Get out and you
01:25know away from being in front of a screen and engaging with people in our great city.
01:29For curious minds Liverpool's museums are packed with screen-free discovery and
01:35dinosaurs are taking over the World Museum. Every Wednesday and Thursday during the
01:39school holidays they'll have a special focus on these prehistoric creatures.
01:44There's a whole host of family fun to enjoy including special workshops, curator
01:50discussions, museum trails and even some very special prehistoric visitors. From
01:56making mud pies, running races, opportunities to build and create and
01:59getting cosy with a good book. Speak Hall are throwing their doors open for a
02:04summer of play. You'll find different activities on different days of the week.
02:07Craft a new toy with Make It Mondays, have a go at archery on Tuesdays, learn
02:12juggling from a Tudor jester on Thursdays or listen to some stories and rhymes with
02:17the reader on Fridays. If your little ones aren't into organized fun you're more
02:21than welcome to create your own adventure with a puppet theatre, wicker
02:25castle and play boat as well as giant games. Eureka Science and Discovery have
02:31stories and surprises every day during the summer holidays with explosive
02:35experiments from Professor Pumpernickel, Ray Bubbles Bubble Show and Discover the
02:40Science are feeling great and get active with Kids Fit, Merside's newest attraction
02:44located at Seacombe Fairy Terminal. They also have hands-on workshops bringing
02:49fairy tales to life. Switch off the screens, switch on the fun and let Liverpool be
