Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a restaurant owner who had to fight off an intruder. He did so while customers watched and filmed the incident but, no one stepped in to help!

00:13out of chicago taco tuesday took a violent turn when this owner was attacked

00:22but what shocked him the most is how his customers reacted when this was all going down

00:36in pilsen along 18th street for here to go bro the grill is hot cash the car bro and customers line

00:43up to get some tacos at quesabira jalisco tender beef with the delicious cheese fried to a crisp

00:55i mean look that's what he did to me right bruises from an ugly fight when a guy tried robbing the

01:00taco shop during tuesday's rush and when i get here this man is standing here i all i heard was

01:07where's the money ventura is face to face with this robber who managed to sneak into the back

01:13office demanding cash i'm from the south side of chicago so the first thing my first instinct was

01:18just boom and i got him and i wrapped him up and we wrestled and we came out here and all the people

01:23all the the customers are there and we're wrestling here and i grab him in a headlock right here

01:28he even broke our our thing right here and i'm holding them and i'm holding them and and i look up

01:34and all my customers everybody is frozen with their with their phones in their hands people recorded

01:43the attack not one person thought of coming to help me with this guy everybody just froze what

01:49does that do for you when you see your customers they're frozen but they're just recording what does

01:55that say about society man it's all about what you catch on film it seems like everybody wants to

02:01have that viral video the man managed to break free from ventura's hold and ran out the front door

02:06no i don't even know if he had a gun a knife i didn't know anything i just went into survival mode

02:10thank god everybody came out of the situation safe he posted online about the attack explaining why the

02:18dining room closed tuesday night kind of makes you mad but at the same time you know i'm here the next

02:23day one three pack as chicago police look for ventura's attacker the owner says he would like to help

02:29the man who targeted him let him come back i'm gonna give him a 12 pack of quesadillas and let him know

02:34you know you're punching this guy in the face 12 pack of quesadillas yeah oh my god oh yeah he gave

02:40it the dave steak uh amazing you gotta know when you're being attacked and you kind of have a guy

02:47in the headlock like while everyone's recording you'd be like pittleton tacos downtown chicago like

02:53give yourself give your information out yeah get the word out you know i just don't know how anybody's

02:58violent when the smell of tacos is in the air and they actually looked really good those look like

03:02amazing tacos yeah and they are has such good mexican food i mean each of those tacos looks like

03:09it was made with care i know i know it is the problem though i mean we always say trust no one

03:14help no one but there's certain situations the guy didn't appear to be armed he's beating the hell out

03:20of a man step up help out yeah i know just don't stand there on your phone i mean either either call

03:27someone if you're not willing to stand up and help call someone to help call the police right but

03:32don't just tape it for a viral video i mean i wouldn't tape it but i'd i'd help as soon as my

03:37tacos were finished that's how you would help you jump onto the grill

03:43everybody helps in their own way you know and sometimes that's how you have to do it

03:58it's it's sad though these situations when no one will i don't know what a thing to be like

04:13getting your ass kicked and then look and see a bunch of phones yeah i mean i think it's just the

04:18times the times we live in because i think like we've said a lot you don't know the scenario this

04:24guy could have a knife he could have whatever and so you're there's a part of you that's like

04:28well i don't really i don't want to get stabbed i don't want to get hurt um but then that overwhelming

04:35social media like i can't believe how fast someone can get their phone out and they are ready they're

04:40ready to record like at all times so it's just life i guess now i don't think that way really like

04:55i better whip out my phone to record this yeah no we weren't more like fumbling like where's my

05:06right to the camera without unlocking my phone i think there's a button on the side if i push it
