WDHA's Rock N' Ruff - "Titan"

00:00Hi, it's DHA's Rock and Rough, and I am Terry Carr. I'm here with my good friend Franny from Halfway Home Animal Rescue.

00:09I love everything that you guys do. You're such an amazing organization because no one is left behind.

00:19I'm moving in by you right now because we have big giant Titan here. He's such a good guy.

00:24The problem with Titan, there's only one problem. He has no idea that he's such a big guy.

00:30He thinks he's a little dude. He might think he's like Chihuahua-ish or Shih Tzu-ish, but obviously he's not.

00:38He's a big dog. He's probably coming up on about 100 pounds, so I always call him he's Terry size.

00:44But he's just a sweet, lovable love bug.

00:47But the problem with a dog like Titan is we need somebody with big dog experience, Franny,

00:51because it's super important that if you're getting a dog that is very large in size, that you know how to handle them.

00:58We want this dog to not be failed. We want him to go into a great home with people who understand that he's going to have some needs

01:07that may be different than an average Chihuahua. So tell us a little bit about Titan.

01:11Titan is a really sweet boy. He has a very calm energy. He's gentle.

01:15When you give him treats, he takes them so gently with that giant mouth. You wouldn't believe it.

01:19And right now he's in a new place, so he's kind of excited, and he's showing his excitement.

01:26He really likes Terry. But Titan will sit by your feet if you work from home.

01:30His foster mom works from home. He can always be found under her chair.

01:34He can go outside and sit in the shade and be happy for a long time.

01:38But really his favorite thing is to be around his people.

01:41And in his former life, Titan lived with teens. He slept in bed with them. He went to work with his person.

01:47He's just a good boy. Really his only want is to be with you.

01:52He's a sweet guy. He had an issue where he needed medical treatment.

01:57And unfortunately his family couldn't keep him, and you guys stepped in, and you guys took care of that

02:02and made sure that he got the operation that he needed.

02:04He is on the mend now. He seems to be just fine.

02:08But note to self, if you're watching us at home, you know, don't leave things around that your dog can eat,

02:16like corn cobs that can get stuck in their intestines and cost you a costly surgery

02:20because not everybody can pay for that.

02:22So this guy now is looking for the second chance at a new life.

02:27Let's check out Titan.

02:29He had a great time hanging out at WDHA.

02:31You can see him on our couches and greeting our staff, hanging out at the Rock of New Jersey.

02:37Meet Titan from Halfway Home Animal Rescue.

02:41Titan is a showstopper and a big, big boy.

02:46Titan is a big, beautiful bully who was given up by his family due to an operation that he needed,

02:51that he had, he ate something he shouldn't have,

02:53and he is doing absolutely great and looking for the second chance at a new life.

02:59Titan is a gentle giant.

03:00He's very sweet, but keep in mind, a big boy at 100 pounds, he likes to sit in your lap,

03:05he likes to lean on you, he likes to get up in your grill, loves to be by your side.

03:10Titan has lived with children, but we think older would be best due to his big size.

03:14And basically, he's a people-loving, loyal, beautiful big boy.

03:19Do you like big mutts and you cannot lie?

03:21Do you think Titan would be a great family member for you?

03:24Are you an active person looking for a young dog to hang out with?

03:27Titan could be the dog for you.

03:29So, adopt Titan.

03:31And look at our good boy.

03:33He's looking at the camera.

03:34He's saying, take me home, take me home.

03:37We're looking for just the right home for him, too.

03:39This is obviously not an apartment dog.

03:42If you've got two rooms in your house, you know, not that he doesn't love to be with you,

03:47but he needs a little bit of space.

03:48He's a 100-pound guy, needs a little bit of space.

03:51Again, super friendly, very calm, and is just really looking for the second chance to start a new life.

03:56He's about two years old, Franny, correct?

03:58And just a great guy.

04:20Also, a really easy way is just message us on social media.

04:24I'll answer it myself, and I know all about Titan.

04:26That's an easy way just to find him and find us.

04:29And as you can see, this is a totally strange situation.

04:33He's handling it really well.

04:34Camera in his face, by the way, and he likes Tom.

04:38He seems to be like, oh, camera?

04:40I'll pose for the camera.

04:41No problem there.

04:42Yeah, he's just a really good boy.

04:44We don't require a yard for all of our dogs,

04:46but we think with a dog Titan size who does need some help, you know, on the leash,

04:51a yard would be really nice for him to get his energy out while he's getting to know someone.

04:55And actually, if you're an avid walker, too, you know, and you can release all that energy,

05:01maybe you don't need a yard all that big.

05:03But our point being is when a dog is 100 pounds and a very strong guy,

05:07you've got to be prepared to give him a little bit of exercise and stuff.

05:10He was very cute when he got here, again, doing his chihuahua act,

05:13bouncing off the walls and having a great time meeting new people,

05:16jumping up on our couch, taking toys.

05:18He loved the toys here at WDHA.

05:21So, yeah, he doesn't know his size.

05:23That's certainly not his fault.

05:24A dog that doesn't know his size.

05:26So he needs a little bit of exercise and definitely would be just a great cuddle bug.

05:31Franny was telling me that he loved to cuddle on the couch with his family and stuff,

05:34and I'm sure that he misses that.

05:36He seems to kind of almost be in pursuit of looking for his humans.

05:39He really is.

05:39He's looking for love, for sure.

05:41That's what he's doing.

05:42He really wants, he's a Velcro dog.

05:44It's a lot of Velcro, but he's a Velcro dog.

05:47A whole lot of Titan, but he's a really, really super dog,

05:51and we'd love to find him a home.

05:52We've had a great track record so far in WDHA's Rock and Rough,

05:55especially with our larger bully dog.

05:58So we're hoping that he definitely gets the same awesome good luck that some of our pups have gotten.
