00:31We put a lot of work into this one, and this is my second full-length album, so that's

00:36a big one in the scheme of numbered albums.

00:40I feel like, you know, Home State did really well for us, but the second one is just as

00:43important, so I'm glad to see the reaction it's gotten.

00:47You know, it's funny you say that, because it is interesting, is because you kind of have

00:51to show that it wasn't a fluke that your first album did well, right?

00:54Exactly.

00:55That's exactly what I was, yeah, you said exactly what I wanted to say.

00:59But yeah, it's kind of like, you kind of wanted to show people that you can, you didn't just

01:03get lucky 12 times on your first album, so hopefully we did that.

01:06Well, you definitely didn't get lucky, man, because these songs are awesome.

01:10Hey, let's talk about Tucson, Too Late, your latest single.

01:13You said it's kind of like music that you grew up listening to, and it's kind of different

01:17for you as well.

01:19Talk to me about that.

01:20Yeah, I think it just has a little bit more lean towards the traditional stuff that I

01:23grew up listening to with my dad.

01:25You know, that song kind of came out of Miami, Miami from Keith Whitley.

01:31So Whitley was what my dad listened to growing up, and you know, it was just kind of going

01:36more towards back to the traditional country sound, kind of acoustic guitar heavy production-wise.

01:42So just kind of bringing back a little bit of the older stuff that I got introduced to

01:48country music with.

01:49Love it, man.

01:50Yeah, I mean, you know how to write a love song, and then you definitely know how to write

01:52a breakup song, too.

01:54Yeah.

01:55Have you ever been to Tucson?

01:59I actually have.

02:01And the first time I flew into Tucson, our plane was delayed.

02:43Now he's engaged, he moved in with her, and they just had a baby.

02:48It all happened when that song came out, and we're like, oh my gosh, this is like freaky,

02:53kind of.

02:53Yeah, you know, be careful what you write, for crying out loud.
