00:00The one, the only Ace Freely, rip it out, 105.5 WDHA, The Rock of New Jersey, along with Steve Brown.
00:06I want to read something in from Kristen, and this leads me to my next question.
00:10Kristen says, oh my God, I'm so fangirling right now.
00:14You need to tell Ace I'm his biggest fan, and I need to know when he's performing in New Jersey again.
00:19I've seen him twice, saw him with Kiss.
00:22I will only see Kiss if Ace is in the band.
00:25And my husband called me from the car and said, put on DHA! Ace is on!
00:30So let me tell you about where Ace is going to be.
00:32He's going to be at the Carteret Pack in Carteret, New Jersey.
00:34Stevie and I were just talking about this.
00:35I'm playing there?
00:36You're playing there, Ace!
00:38I never even look.
00:39Well, as long as they get you there, that's all that matters.
00:43You're playing there on the 13th of April.
00:46It's a Saturday night, I believe.
00:48Carteretpack.com to get your tickets.
00:50This place, Steve, you just played there with Wizards of Winter.
00:53It is just a phenomenal place to see a show.
00:56It is beautiful.
00:56It is a gorgeous venue.
00:58It's really, it's a theater, but it's got the arena treatment.
01:02Yes!
01:02The sound, phenomenal.
01:04The lights are spectacular.
01:06I mean, I looked at the light show.
01:07I'm like, wow, this looks like a Def Leppard light show.
01:10It is just a great place in the area in Carteret.
01:13There's a lot of restaurants.
01:15They've really done a whole rejuvenation of the area,
01:18but I can't say enough great things about it.
01:21And the Ace, Angel, and White Tiger show, April 13th, is going to be incredible.
01:27Crazy.
01:28The record will be out by that time.
01:30I want to do a couple of listener questions.
01:33Brett Grossman wants to know all about the touring band.
01:38So I know who the touring band is.
01:39But Ace, talk a little bit about the touring band.
01:42The who?
01:42The band that you're touring with.
01:44Your guys.
01:45Oh, Ryan, Jeremy, and Scotty.
01:48Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:49So they're going to be out with Ace at the Carteret Pack.
01:51And he also wanted to know about the openers.
01:53And yes, it is Angel, the band Angel.
01:56Frankie Domeno and Punky Manos.
01:58They're performing with me in the video of 10,000 votes.
02:02Yep.
02:03Yeah, Ace's band is.
02:04And White Tiger also on that bill.
02:08Patrick wanted to know about Origins 3.
02:10He said he heard that there's going to be a part 3.
02:13And also, will there be any other live Ace recordings coming up?
02:20So Ace, you want to talk a little bit about...
02:21That was something that was brought up and seriously considered.
02:26My biggest concern about it was, you know, when Kissed It Alive back in the 70s,
02:32nobody had cell phones with good cameras.
02:35But now everybody records the show.
02:37So I said to, you know, one of the heads of the record company,
02:42and we were going back and forth.
02:43And Steve really was up for doing a live album.
02:46But, you know, I told them a lot of reasons why we should stick with the Origins Volume 3,
02:53which is what I was slated to do.
02:56Because we can get some great guest stars and pick some really great songs I haven't done.
03:02Because remember, you know, in the late 60s and early 70s, there were so many great songs.
03:09Yeah.
03:09You know?
03:10Yeah.
03:10And I've already, you know, Lita Ford called me up the other day.
03:14She wants to be involved again.
03:16I got to give Slash a call.
03:18You know, that's all I can say at the moment.
03:20Okay.
03:20All right.
03:20We won't say anything else.
03:21But yeah, we're going to start with Origins Volume 3.
03:24It's going to be the next release.
03:25All right.
03:26So that's coming.
03:27Debbie D is from Philadelphia.
03:29Again, another one of your biggest fans.
03:30And she wants to know what you enjoy most about now living in New Jersey, Ace.
03:36Because Ace is Jersey now.
03:37Somebody called me earlier and said, Ace is living in New Jersey.
03:40I said, yeah, we're keeping him here for a while.
03:42So what do you like about living?
03:43It's funny because, you know, I've always said, no offense to Jerseyites,
03:49but I always said I'd never live in Jersey.
03:52And then all of a sudden I meet the schoolteacher and Sheila's in Jersey.
03:58And next thing you know, I'm living with her in Jersey.
04:02But it's northern Jersey.
04:04We're only 10 minutes from the New York border.
04:06And we live in a great town with a lake.
04:09And, you know, we live in a high-end development.
04:13I mean, I got 8,000 square feet, you know, nine-foot ceilings in my basement,
04:18recording, we're building a gym, you know, it goes on and on.
04:23But I love it.
04:24You're loving the life.
04:25Good, good.
04:26You're loving the life.
04:26Michael wants to know, Ace, how do you stay inspired?
04:31And what artists that you have worked with recently are inspiring you?
04:37So what inspires you?
04:38The most recent artist that inspires me recently is Steve.
04:42Yeah, okay.
04:44Yeah.
04:44And was that a two-part question?
04:47Yeah, but you stay inspired.
04:49You know, you stay inspired by having people around you that are good people.
04:53You know, I'm still like a little kid when I get up on stage.
04:58Yeah.
04:59I love, you know, I've been sober 17 years.
05:02And, you know, when you first get sober, you think you're not going to be as creative.
05:06But as the years progress and your brain clears up, you actually become more creative.
05:12You know, I mean, I've done, what, five or six records already?
05:16Yep.
05:17In the last so many years.
05:19Ten years.
05:20And my old band hasn't done a record in 20 years.
05:23Yeah.
05:23Go figure.
05:24Yeah.
05:24And your blood work gets better.
05:26And your blood work got better.
05:28Yeah.
05:28As you got sober.
05:29So go figure.
05:30He's going backwards.
05:32I tell him soon enough he's going to be doing eight minute abs in six minutes.
05:36Oh, and somebody else wants to know, are you still working on the follow-up to no regrets?
05:43Are you putting things down?
05:44Do you think that there's going to be a second part of your story that you would put out for people?
05:50Because, you know, the...
05:51Another book?
05:52Yeah.
05:53It was so well-received.
05:53I'm working on it.
05:55It's like on...
05:56It's on napkins.
05:59Because I'll be sitting in a restaurant and I'll remember a really cool story.
06:03And I go, I'll forget it, you know.
06:05Yeah, you got to jot it down.
06:06As soon as I remember it.
06:07So I write it down in a napkin.
06:08And I got a box filled with ideas.
06:11Yeah.
06:11It's just a matter of doing it.
06:14But, you know, my time is so limited because I got so many things going on at once.
06:20You got a lot of stuff going on, yeah.
06:22Now, Otis...
06:22But I will have a second book.
06:25Hopefully by the end of next year.
06:26Oh, wow.
06:27Oh, that's fast.
06:28That's fast to put a book out.
06:29Otis was on Instagram.
06:30He asked me, he was telling me last night, I have to ask him this.
06:33So I said, all right.
06:34So there's going to be a Shout It Out Loud, a biopic,
06:38that's going to chronicle the first four years of KISS.
06:41And he wanted to know, he said, I hope that Ace and Peter will be involved in at least
06:46the casting and coaching of the actors who will portray them.
06:51So have you heard about doing anything about that or no?
06:56The only thing I'm planning is a KISS movie about my life.
07:00Yeah.
07:00Because I think my life is the most interesting of the four original members.
07:05I don't doubt that.
07:06No offense to any of the other guys, but, you know, I mean, it's just...
07:11My life is like a fairy tale.
07:13And you know what I love?
07:15It keeps reinventing itself.
07:17Like, it's always like a full circle kind of time.
07:22I think one of the reasons God has kept me alive is because, you know, for the last 17
07:27years, I've been inspiring kids to get sober.
07:31You know, I have meeting greets after the show.
07:33Kids will come up to me and show me their five-year coin and say, I've been sober five
07:39years now, Ace, because of you.
07:41I figured if Ace Fairley could get sober, I could get sober.
07:44And, you know, it makes my evening, makes my day.
07:47Absolutely.
07:49Absolutely.
07:50A hundred percent.
07:51All right.
07:51We're going to play.
07:52Let's do a little live Shock Me, and then we'll come back and we'll wrap up with Ace.
07:56It was just such an awesome afternoon and just so much fun to have Ace hanging out in the
08:03WDHA studios.
