00:52was at home i looked and immediately as soon as i saw a zebra i knew where it was at we've only got

01:00one person to my knowledge in pickway county that has zebras the first deputy to arrive wrote in his

01:05report that when a zebra rammed his cruiser he had to scare it away with a horn and siren so he could

01:12get out and help the victim who initially thought he had lost an arm body camera footage shows deputies

01:18helping that man to safety as they manage the scene the zebra lingers and eventually comes toward

01:24everyone we're not going to show you the moment when one of the deputies shoots and kills the animal

01:30the zebra came up and was showing aggression and for the safety of the people on the scene

01:35including some small children that were there the deputy do made the decision to put the animal down

01:41in order to protect others haifee says he supports that decision the zebra's already shown aggression

01:46and speaking with some of the the family members and friends apparently this zebra has been aggressive

01:52in the past why are you hanging around a zebra it's like the zebras are not classified as dangerous

01:59wild animals under ohio law that means they are legal to own without any sort of registration

02:06or permit now i did speak with a wildlife expert

02:09well there it is wild animals you can have as many as well of course you can have a zebra in ohio
