I tried Preston's highest rated fried chicken

I went down to Chicking in Preston to try the highest rated fried chicken in the city and see if it was worth all the hype...

00:04welcome to our latest food review. I decided to do something a little

00:07different this time and try one of the highest rated international chicken

00:12brands which has recently come onto the scene in the UK they've got quite a few

00:16quite a few outlets in the UK now they're kind of growing they were only

00:21founded in 2000 and that is Chicken. You can tell the little gag

00:28they've done there it's Chicken they're the king of chicken supposedly out to

00:31rival KFC that's the kind of vibe it's an Indian Arabian fast-food joint which

00:35was headquartered in Dubai so it's founded in the Middle East back in 2000

00:39and it's gone on to to run over 230 outlets across 37 different countries I

00:45believe it is including they've got 11 different branches in the UK and one of

00:49those is in Lancashire and it is located in Preston so I decided to head down to

00:55the Preston branch check out chicken see what it was like see what see what

00:58how it was different really from regular fried the kind of regular fried chicken

01:02we're used to the kind of KFC vibe of things and see how this one was

01:06different really and so headed down and the first thing I really really noticed

01:10was I mean how many hours perfect time from the video how crispy the chicken

01:13was it was I mean the kind of like the surface area the batter covered was just

01:19really impressive had a really nice bite to it there was no sogginess to it but

01:22there was a lovely balance between the crusty crunchy crisp outside of the

01:27fried chicken with all the little ridges and a little kind of there's lovely bite

01:31to it none of that was soggy which you can get with certain bits of fried

01:35chicken the inside was moist it was tender it was hot it was it was really

01:40really really like flaky as well so I kept peeled away it was lovely really

01:44really impressed I did I didn't know what to expect from this because I've

01:47never been to a chicken before so I thought right I'll go in see what it was

01:50like and I've got to say I was really really impressed I got the six chicken

01:55strip kind of like deal thing which cost me five pound forty nine which I thought

01:59was pretty good value because the strips were pretty big like this was a lunch

02:03for me it was fine I was full after eating it was really really satisfying

02:07and like I say the quality was really high something I did notice was that the

02:11batter wasn't just your your basic kind of that's chicken batter you kind of get

02:18a flavor of almost like oil you get a flavor of oil really I've got it's not

02:24much else it's batter flavor with a bit of oil it had like a spice to it a

02:28little bit herbiness to it it was a spicier chicken strip than you might

02:32expect from a regular one it wasn't branded as being spicy it did have a bit

02:36of a kick to it which I really liked it was great I don't know if the kind of

02:39them the spiciness to it came from like a cumin which was involved in the batter

02:43but I really did notice that and I really enjoyed it really really nice it

02:47was it was like almost like a curry powder hit from it which was really

02:51welcome it was a nice addition but it wasn't overpowering any sense either so

02:54that was just something I wasn't expecting but which really really

02:57impressed me and yeah I just just overall really enjoyed it you can see

03:01why it's one of the highest I mean already it's one of the highest rated

03:03chicken places in Preston so which was another reason why I decided to go down

03:06and try it out so it really really hit home and that it's kind of bringing

03:11something slightly different slightly new whilst still respecting the classic

03:14tenets of what makes really good fried chicken so I think it really balanced

03:18everything really nicely so yeah let us know if you've ever been to a chicken if

03:22you've ever been to one abroad if you've been to one of the other ten branches in

03:27the UK and tried it out if you thought it was rubbish if you thought it was a
