I went to 5 Akhis in Preston to try the newest burger in town and see if the food at one of the city's newest spots was worth all the hype...

00:04newspaper and welcome to another one of our food reviews where we head down to a local spot in the

00:09city, try it out, let you know what we think about it all. And the place I visited today

00:13was a pretty new burger joint which is opened just down on Fryergate and it's called Five

00:20Ackies. Now this place has got a few places dotted around the UK, got a few branches and

00:26they've just opened this one in Preston and I thought what better way to find out whether

00:29they're going to be a big addition to the local burger scene in Preston and in the wider

00:33area in general because people love their burgers and they'll travel far and wide to go and get a

00:37top-notch sarnay when it comes to the top-end burgers. I thought I'll go try it out for myself,

00:43report back to you guys and let you know what I think. So I headed down today and I didn't

00:47want to do anything too fancy, I didn't want to go too far out the box, I just thought right

00:51let's test them by just getting a classic, try it out, see what I made of it. So I ordered

00:55the classic. It costs about just over £8 which is pretty middle of the road I'd think for the

01:02fancier burgers these days. You can get cheaper ones obviously if you're going for a Mac it's

01:06going to end up costing you about £4 but you pay for that later down the road by dint of it being

01:10a pretty terrible quality burger. So I reckon £8 for something like this was pretty solid and

01:15reasonable price. It was nice and big and when it arrived I've got to say I was really impressed by

01:21just how good it looked. It looked you know properly well made, good quality ingredients,

01:25really a lot of care and attention paid just to the kind of quality of presentation and putting

01:29together a really top quality product. So I was pleased to see that, that was a really nice

01:34really nice kind of start to the whole thing and I thought right there's only one there's only one

01:39way to actually tell us if this is a quality burger you should get stuck in. I've got to say

01:43the headline really is this is one of the best burgers I have ever had. The classic burger was

01:47absolutely outstanding. Now I might chalk it down to the fact that the weather is absolutely lovely

01:52and enjoying a burger in the sunshine on your lunch break. I mean there are worse ways to spend

01:58a Wednesday so it might have been that but I'd happily eat this burger quite regularly. It was

02:05absolutely stunning. All the kind of hallmarks you want from a good burger were there straight away.

02:10The bun was like it was like the perfect colour, it was a perfect texture, it wasn't too bready.

02:15With some burger buns you feel like you know when you're chewing and chomping away all you're doing

02:19is you're trying to get rid of the bread just so you can enjoy the middle of it. This was light,

02:23this was really really airy and fluffy and it was just there to kind of caress, soak up a bit of like

02:29bit of the grease and bit of juices from the burger, a bit of burger sauce as well to give it its own

02:33thing. It wasn't there to overtake anything, it was just there as a nice little addition, a nice little

02:38kind of like grasper for your actual burger itself. And speaking of the burger itself,

02:41outstanding, juicy, delicious, tender, a little bit pink in the middle, really nice,

02:47great flavour on the burger itself, didn't get lost in anything else, really nicely accompanied

02:51by things like we had a bit of like almost like a caramelised onion in there which added a lovely

02:57little sweetness, almost like a jam flavour to it. It had lovely pickles on there and I mean people

03:02who watch our burger review series when we did that with LP Eats will know pickles on a burger are

03:07a massive yes from me, so thumbs up on that front. The pickles were outstanding. The burger sauce was

03:12some of the best burger sauce I have ever had. I might sound like I'm laying it on thick here but

03:16genuinely go down to Five Accus, grab yourself a classic burger, try it out for yourselves,

03:20absolutely outstanding, really really good. There's not much more to say, try it out for
