I went to the grand opening of Preston's new MB Chicken

With Canada’s MB Chicken having expanded in UK with its new store opening in Preston, I went down to their Church Street branch for the grand opening event to try some food and enjoy the entertainment

00:00Hi, my name's Jack Marshall. I'm a digital reporter with the Lancashire Post newspaper

00:04and got something a little different to bring to you today. I recently was invited to the

00:09grand opening of one of the city's newest fast food places, which is MB Chicken. Now

00:15the MB and MB Chicken stands for Mary Brown. And so I'd never really heard of this chain

00:19before. It's in a Canadian chain. They're famous for the fried chicken. I thought, well,

00:24got to go check it out, try it out, see what's going down. Now they had all kinds of stuff

00:28going on at this launch event. They had a DJ playing. They had loads of testers out.

00:33They had basically the whole menu for you to try. They had a million sauces. They had drinks

00:37being made. They had drinks just an open bar for you, but they also had drinks being made

00:41specially for you by like a professional mixologist who was making everything. I went down and

00:47tried a maple leaf martini, which was very nice. Never really a fan of martinis in general

00:52really, but I thought maple leaf martini is a Canadian brand. I've got to try one of those.

00:56So headed down to their new or relatively new location on Church Street in the middle

01:01of town, tried it all out. And it was, yeah, the atmosphere there was incredible. There

01:05were loads of people milling around, coming in and out, trying it out, just getting to

01:09groups with the new premises, which looks really, really slick, really cool. They've

01:12got everything from arcade games, loads of seating, loads of space, lovely kind of like

01:17decor and features in terms of the style and the layout for everything. It's really, really

01:21nice to put together. So yeah, really enjoyed my time down there. When it comes to the food

01:27itself, I was impressed. I think I've done quite a few bits and bobs on fried chicken

01:31recently because it's just such a huge up and coming culinary market in not only the

01:36like press in itself, but in the UK in general. It's a huge thing. And I definitely think that

01:41fried chicken on offer from MB Chicken is up there with, you know, probably going to be

01:47some of the best. There'll be some, you know, connoisseurs of fried chicken who might disagree,

01:51but I thought it was really nice. Tried some of their little bites. They were really, really

01:55good. They had a nice kind of salty kick to them whilst also having that crispiness and

01:58really juicy chicken inside. So yeah, I was very impressed by MB Chicken. They had a great

02:02vibe at the launch event. I definitely recommend going and checking it out and forming your own

02:06opinion. I've got everything going on down there. So just go down, peruse the menu,

02:10grab yourself a bite to eat. Cheers.
