My name's Max Skillicorn and I'm here to pin hook my first horse at English Premier.
00:20
I've always had a really strong passion with the breeding, racing and pin hooking horses.
00:27
My dad's Kelly Skillicorn, he runs Gilgai Farm down in the Gambie.
00:32
I've always got around with dad and he showed me horses at Gilgai and always tried to go
00:38
to sales.
00:39
I got 104 sheep, every year they get a cut of wool, I sell the wool to people I know
00:44
and then put that money into my savings account and then put it towards a weanling every year.
00:49
I come to the Great Southern Sale last year with Suman Hedge, walked around with him looking
00:54
at weanlings with the objective that I was going to buy one hopefully.
00:59
We get to the last barn of the day and I see the Graff Colt and I think we'll have a look
01:04
at him when he comes through the ring and yeah, I managed to pick him up.
01:07
Max Skillicorn boys, thank you Max.
01:10
Welcome to the thoroughbred breeding and pin hooking game.
01:13
Good luck with him.
01:14
Oh, I'm very nervous but I said 5,000 then I'd be relieved that I know that it's okay.
01:21
20,000, I might probably faint by that time and anything above 20,000, I'll be over the
01:29
moon with that, over the moon, yes.
01:38
You just tell me, Papa, and I'll grab everything.
01:40
Just have a look for the stickers in there, will you?
01:43
In here?
01:51
Yes.
02:08
How are you feeling?
02:08
Oh, nervous.
02:09
Are you?
02:10
Very nervous, yes.
02:11
You'll be all right.
02:15
So what pair is that?
02:16
I think it's 15.
02:17
15, okay.
02:18
Good luck.
02:19
Yeah.
02:19
Presented a lovely run of horses, have Gil Guy here and none so much as this.
02:24
794, still a bit away for him, 15 or 20 and go.
02:27
I've got five to start.
02:29
10 better, 10 a bit, I'll be 15 better, 15 a bit, 15,000 a bit of an hour, gonna be 20
02:34
there with Kate Lally.
02:35
On the back wall, a 20 better, 20 a bit, 20 a bit of an hour, 20, 30 there, 30 a bit,
02:39
30 a bit of an hour, 30 a bit of an hour, 30 a bit of an hour, 30,000 a bit of an hour,
02:42
Josh Seaman holds that call, gonna be 30,000 now.
02:45
Grand vendors, they seek to sell him to you.
02:48
$30,000 in, 30 better now, 30, what do you reckon, Max?
02:51
You got it up?
02:52
At $30,000 in, that's doing a good job, lady, isn't he?
02:55
$30,000 in, good job.
02:57
Five, 40, 40, 40 a bit, 40 better now, 40.
03:03

03:10
Congratulations, mate.
03:10
Thank you, thank you, well done.
03:15
Thank you, well done.
03:17
It's unbelievable, the best experience of my life, to be honest with you.
03:23
This is Max, he owned the horse.
03:25
G'day, nice to meet you.
03:26
John O'Connor.
03:26
Thank you very much.
03:29
Yeah, lovely, thank you.
03:31
Never in my whole life did I ever think I was going to get this much,
03:34
and it's what dreams are made of.
03:39
Good boy.
