Are New Year’s resolutions a waste of time?

We ask the people of Cardiff if they’ve got a New Year’s resolution, or whether it’s not worth starting.

00:00Yeah, I mean don't complicate it, really. I mean, it's a new year, it's nice, have a drink.

00:06But other than that, like, I'm not going to try and tell myself I'm going to go to the gym,

00:11because I'm just going to be disappointed in about four weeks. So, no, I'm happy.

00:16I'd like to just live my life a bit more. I really enjoy 2025, I'm at a point in my life where I'm young,

00:22but I'm also free, I'm almost 18, so I think just living this year to my fullest,

00:27I think that's what I'd be happy with.

00:30Last year, it was quite good for me, but I need to be more organised, doing step by step.

00:38At some point, like, we try to grab, actually I try to grab everything together,

00:42and I leave too many projects incomplete. So I want to change the project more.

00:47I want to, planning and executing a little bit more.

00:52I tend to like being quite a people pleaser, and sometimes that'll put me at a disadvantage,

00:56so I'm trying to say no a lot more this year, and actually put myself first a lot more.
