Heavy rain is moving into the west of the UK this afternoon as Storm Darragh begins to affect the country. This will be accompanied by strong winds especially in coastal exposed areas. Temperatures around the average in the east, while in the west it will become rather mild as the rain bands arrive. There is a red warning for wind out for Wales and southwest England. Amber wind warnings are in effect for Wales, the southwest, the northwest, and Northern Ireland. A yellow wind warning is out for the rest of England, and yellow rain warnings are in effect for northeast England and southwest Scotland. A yellow snow warning is in effect for central Scotland.
