00:00Hello there welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met

00:04Office. There's a change coming in from the south. High pressure tends to fade

00:09away as we see a southerly wind bringing milder air but for the time being

00:13through Wednesday evening it's cold outside. A widespread frost extending

00:19southwards. This breeze here continues to deliver some coastal showers as the

00:23clouds slowly thickens from the west. At the same time with a lighter wind in

00:28expect the fog to reform and it's going to turn freezing. So freezing fog which

00:33will be stubborn as we head into a Thursday morning. Some places may find

00:38that fog lingering on through the morning. So it's a very cold end to the

00:42night and we'll see the wind pick up a little bit towards the far southwest

00:46where you could see some showery rain. Elsewhere it's a dry night, it's a

00:51bitterly cold one and murky for some. So first thing then on Thursday morning

00:57well for Northern Ireland you may find that freezing fog lifting a little bit

01:00quicker than the last night into the morning because the wind will be a bit

01:05stronger here. Elsewhere it's a bit of a murky start. Any sunshine through the

01:09morning will turn rather hazy as cloud encroaches from the southwest and that

01:13will bring some showery rain towards West Wales, the West Country and

01:17eventually some wet weather across Northern Ireland with a keen breeze.

01:21Elsewhere we hang on to some drier skies, more cloud from time to time, some hazy

01:27sunshine as that rain skirts Western Scotland into tomorrow evening.

01:32Temperatures then will struggle. It's a cold day but notice towards the west

01:36across the Republic of Ireland 13 Celsius for Devon and Cornwall up to 10

01:41Celsius. That really heralds the change in our weather coming through as we head

01:45through Thursday into Friday. Through Thursday evening though that rain

01:48continues its passage northwards. So some wet weather across the central

01:52belt northwards but eventually it will clear towards the far north of Scotland.

01:56But this rain bound never too far away into Friday morning and it will be a bit

02:00of a murky night elsewhere. Lots of low clouds and temperatures struggling yet

02:04again dipping down to around 1 to 3 Celsius. So on Friday there'll be more in

02:10the way of cloud around. This rain eventually moves in around lunchtime to

02:14Northern Ireland. Showery bursts extend down towards Irish Seacoast up towards

02:18the northwest of Scotland. Elsewhere it's mostly dry. Temperatures are slowly

02:23rising so you'll see values coming in around 10 Celsius for the central belt,

02:2812 for southern parts of Wales, 14 for the West Country but still only 6, 7 or 8

02:32along this eastern side and here the cloud will come and go. So through Friday

02:37evening and overnight yet again we'll see that wind pick up further strength.

02:41The air becomes milder across most parts as we head through Friday and into the

02:47weekend with some showery bursts extending across the country. Saturday

02:50then yes the cloud will come and go. Temperatures in double figures which is

02:54good news. Some showers in the mix but the wind will be the the key feature of

02:59the weather and into Sunday yes yet again we'll see some wet weather around.

03:04Now into next week things will try and settle down and it does turn a bit

03:08colder yet again. Before that though yes a breezy weekend, windy for some, showery

03:14rain in the mix and also milder. More details of our outlook check out our 10
