Hello there welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04
Office. Now through tomorrow we'll see some sunshine after a cold start even
00:09
with a risk of ice. In fact there's warnings for ice this evening and
00:14
overnight across the north and the west of Northern Ireland, northern parts of
00:17
Scotland associated with those showers. This ridge allows things to be fine on
00:21
Thursday before more cloud and rain sinks down towards more southern and
00:25
eastern areas through the day into Friday. And then Friday will be a rather
00:29
cloudy scenario although we'll see the winds pick up on Saturday yet again
00:32
more rain arrives from the west and it will gradually move eastwards into
00:38
Sunday. For the time being look at this rain here it's been continuing
00:41
throughout the day but it is now clearing down towards the low countries
00:44
a slow process along that south coast. Cloud then breaks up we'll see a frost
00:50
form and extends southwards. Still a keen breeze though across more northern and
00:54
western areas and we'll see some showers continue across these parts
00:58
wintry over higher ground. Temperatures really taking a tumble in rural spots I
01:02
think the lowest temperatures will be around minus three to minus five degrees
01:05
Celsius. Watch out for one or two fog patches as well as the winds fall light
01:09
particularly across more central parts of the country. Now through tomorrow
01:12
morning showers from the word go across more northern and western areas, windward
01:16
coast to be honest. The rain becomes confined to Shetland with a driving wind
01:20
but notice it's a fine day for most after a cold morning. You'll see some
01:25
sunshine cloud just drifting across the sky. Most places dry although the cloud
01:29
will thicken across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland later heralding a wet
01:33
evening. Before that though temperatures will arrive around five to eight degrees
01:37
Celsius feeling quite pleasant in any blue sky and sunshine. Now through Thursday
01:43
evening and overnight this band of rain continues its passage eastwards. A frost
01:48
first thing across central eastern areas of Scotland Northern Ireland seeing that
01:52
rain though frost further east. You can see the rain could be heavy at times
01:55
extending towards northern England and Wales. It fizzles out across much of
01:59
Scotland. We could see some snow over the Pennines through the early hours of
02:03
Friday morning as this rain continues its passage towards East Anglia, central
02:08
southern England as well as the southeast clearing the Midlands through
02:11
around lunchtime. In its wake perhaps some brighter skies Northern Ireland
02:15
North East Scotland but generally speaking there will be a lot of clouds
02:18
and cloudy weather will be the name of the game on Saturday as more rain arrives
02:22
from the west Saturday night and the winds pick up some strength. That rain
02:26
again weakens as it pushes eastwards. More details check out our 10-day trend
02:30
this week it's with honour.
