Hello. Storm Bert remains in charge of our weather at the moment, bringing strong winds,
00:05
heavy rain across many parts of the UK. Met Office warnings remain in force over the next
00:11
24 hours or so and you can see it on the pressure pattern. It just sits to the northwest of
00:15
us, tightly packed isobars indicating strong winds. Strong winds particularly around the
00:20
coast and across the northwest later as we head into Sunday as well. So, do be prepared
00:26
for some travel disruption through the rest of the weekend and into the beginning of
00:30
next week as Bert is only slowly going to push away. And we can see through this evening
00:35
time a cloudy end to the day, outbreaks of heavy rain across many parts of the country.
00:40
This combined with some melting snow across parts of Northern England, Scotland will lead
00:44
to some further flooding in places. The winds remain strong, gusts of 50, 60 miles an hour
00:49
or so around some coasts, perhaps easing for a short time across parts of Northern Ireland,
00:54
Central and Southern Scotland. And overnight, it does remain unsettled with further outbreaks
00:59
of rain. Temperatures exceptionally mild, particularly across England and Wales, 13
01:04
to 15 Celsius as minimum. This is in fact well above where they should be during the
01:08
day at this time of year. Temperatures also reaching double figures by the end of the
01:12
night across into Scotland, Northern Ireland around 8 or 9 Celsius. Here, a bright start
01:17
today, blustery showers, this spreading into parts of Scotland too, some sunshine. But
01:22
a cloudy picture across much of England and Wales. Outbreaks of heavy rain pushing north
01:27
and eastwards through the day, particularly across the west countries and southern parts
01:32
of Wales, some local disruption possible. Perhaps some bright spells to the southeast
01:36
of England here and to the north of it as well, seeing some brighter spells. However,
01:41
as the centre of Bert edges closer to North West Scotland, the Highlands and Islands here,
01:46
the winds pick up 60, 70 miles an hour. I met obvious warnings out for the winds here
01:51
through Sunday as well. So there could be some disruption through the rest of the weekend.
01:55
So it is worth staying up to date with the latest travel advice and also our warnings
02:00
on our website as well. Temperatures reaching around 15, 16 Celsius across much of England
02:05
and Wales. Again, double figures further north, Northern Ireland and Scotland, 11, 12 Celsius
02:10
above where they should be for the time of year. Into the evening time, further heavy
02:15
rain pushing eastwards across England and Wales, followed by something drier, but blustery
02:19
showers quickly following in. It stays windy for many of us, particularly across northern
02:24
parts of Scotland. Gales to severe gales here and temperatures overnight just dipping a
02:29
little lower back into a single figures. But again, these around daytime temperatures for
02:34
the end of November. Monday is going to be an unsettled day. Early rain pushing its way
02:39
eastwards across southeast England, followed by sunny spells and heavy showers, heaviest
02:45
showers and most frequent showers across the north and west of the UK. The showers
02:49
also turning back to snow over the high ground of Scotland later as colder air starts to
02:54
dig back in. Still mild across England and Wales, but temperatures down compared to Saturday
02:59
and Sunday, 11 or 12 degrees back into single figures across many northern parts. So just
03:04
feeling a little chillier. So there's a lot going on with our weather as we move through
03:09
the rest of the weekend and into the beginning of the week. A storm, but slowly pushes its
03:14
way eastwards. It is worth staying up to date on our social media channels and our YouTube
03:19
channel as well. See you again soon.
