Let's continue to monitor the two typhoons outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:06
First, this severe tropical storm with an international name, Trami,
00:11
that hit Christine.
00:12
So, it came out of our PAR yesterday at 2 p.m.
00:17
So, our latest location as of 3 a.m. today is 630 kilometers away,
00:23
Kanlura, Bacnotan, La Union.
00:26
It has a strong wind that is close to the middle, reaching 95 kilometers per hour
00:31
when it opens, it reaches 115 kilometers per hour.
00:35
Its movement continues westward or to Kanluran at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour
00:41
away from our country.
00:43
And this other typhoon, this tropical storm with an international name, Kongray,
00:48
that is still outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility, our last location,
00:52
1,825 kilometers east of Central Luzon.
00:56
It has a strong wind that is close to the middle, reaching 65 kilometers per hour
01:01
when it opens, it reaches 80 kilometers per hour.
01:04
Its movement is northwestward at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour
01:08
near the eastern boundary of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:14
And we can see here in our latest satellite images
01:17
that the trough or extension of the Severe Tropical Storm Trami,
01:21
which was previously known as Cristin,
01:23
will bring down or will bring down the clouds
01:26
in a large part of the western section of Southern Luzon.
01:30
Meanwhile, the southwesterly wind flow, or the wind coming from the north of Kanluran
01:35
that was previously being blown by the typhoon Cristin,
01:38
will also bring down the clouds and rain today in a large part of Visayas,
01:44
this northern portion of Mindanao.
01:46
For Metro Manila and in the rest of the country,
01:50
we will experience today a brighter time,
01:54
aside from the chances of isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
01:59
And this is our latest track and intensity forecast
02:03
for Severe Tropical Storm Cristin that was issued at 11 p.m. yesterday.
02:08
We can see here in our track the continuous generally westward movement of the typhoon.
02:15
From today until tomorrow, Sunday.
02:19
But when Monday arrives, next week until Wednesday,
02:22
we will see here that the movement of the typhoon Cristin will be slightly wavy
02:28
and it will loop counterclockwise and then will move,
02:32
or will move generally eastward,
02:33
bringing it closer to the western boundary of our Philippine area of responsibility.
02:39
This looping movement will be heavily dependent on the track and intensity
02:43
of another tropical storm that we are watching,
02:46
the Tropical Storm Congre,
02:48
which is in the east of our Philippine area of responsibility,
02:52
outside bar.
02:53
And this is not the only factor that is affected.
02:56
Other weather systems surrounding Cristin
03:01
will have an effect on the movement of the typhoon.
03:06
High-pressure areas on the periphery of the typhoon
03:10
as well as the northeasterly wind flow,
03:13
this is the dry wind coming from the northeast
03:16
that enters the circulation of the typhoon Cristin.
03:20
This northeasterly wind flow will also have an effect
03:22
on the possible weakening of the typhoon in the coming days.
03:25
From today until tomorrow,
03:27
we will see here that Cristin will maintain the Severe Tropical Storm intensity category.
03:33
It is possible that this part will increase or slightly intensify.
03:36
But when Monday to Wednesday arrives,
03:38
because of the entrance of the northeasterly wind flow,
03:41
it will have an effect on the possible weakening or downgrade of Cristin
03:46
into a Tropical Storm category.
03:50
And this is our track and intensity forecast
03:52
for the Tropical Storm Congre,
03:54
which was also issued at 11 p.m. last night.
03:56
So we will see here in our track forecast,
04:00
the generally west-northwestward movement of the Tropical Storm Congre.
04:06
So it is possible that tomorrow or Sunday early morning
04:09
or early Sunday,
04:11
it will enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility
04:14
and when it enters,
04:15
we will give it a domestic name, Leon.
04:18
The west-northwestward movement of the Tropical Storm Congre will continue
04:22
until Monday.
04:24
Monday to Tuesday, its movement will be north-westward.
04:27
Tuesday onwards, it will be northward.
04:29
Or its movement will be northward towards the northern boundary
04:33
of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
04:37
So the Tropical Storm Congre will continue its Tropical Storm category
04:40
throughout the day.
04:42
It is possible that it will increase as a Severe Tropical Storm category
04:45
tomorrow or Sunday.
04:46
And when Monday arrives,
04:49
it will increase as a Typhoon category.
04:52
And we will see here in our track forecast
04:55
that it is possible that the Tropical Storm Congre will remain far away
05:01
in our Philippine Landmass.
05:04
But if that is the case,
05:05
the Outer Rain Bans,
05:06
as the typhoon said,
05:07
it is possible that it will rain in the coming days
05:11
here in the extreme northern Luzon.
05:12
As well as the southwesterly wind flow,
05:15
which is possible that it will hit,
05:16
it will rain in a large part of the southern Luzon,
05:19
Visayas, and Mindanao.
05:21
So stay tuned
05:22
for updates about the Tropical Storm Congre.
05:26
And once it enters our PAR,
05:28
we will issue 6-hourly Tropical Cyclone Bulletins.
05:33
And this will be our time today.
05:36
In the area of Occidental Mindoro and Palawan,
05:39
due to the effect of the trough or extension of the Severe Tropical Storm Christina
05:45
that is outside our PAR,
05:46
we expect a high chance of thunderstorms.
05:50
It is still possible there.
05:51
The areas of flooding and landslides,
05:53
especially if the rainfall continues.
05:57
For Metro Manila,
05:58
and for a large part of Luzon or the rest of Luzon,
06:01
we can expect that the rainfall will decrease.
06:05
As compared to the heavy rainfall that we experienced in the past few days,
06:09
we are still prepared for the chances of sudden and sudden rainfall
06:15
caused by localized thunderstorms.
06:17
So for a large part of Luzon,
06:19
since we experienced heavy rainfall in the past few days,
06:23
if we experience rain,
06:25
even if it's just a small amount,
06:26
it is still possible for flash floods or landslides to occur
06:30
because the land in our locality is possibly saturated.
06:35
So our maximum temperature forecast for today,
06:38
for the area,
06:39
it is possible to reach 31 degrees Celsius.
06:42
20 degrees in the area of Baguio City
06:44
and 31 degrees Celsius in Taguig-Araw.
06:46
Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila today,
06:49
it is possible to reach 31 degrees Celsius.
06:52
27 degrees in the area of Tagaytay
06:55
and 32 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.
06:59
Here in Palawan,
07:00
the whole of Visayas,
07:01
and Western and Northern Mindanao,
07:03
here in the regions of Zamboanga Peninsula,
07:06
Northern Mindanao, and Caraga,
07:07
we can also expect a high chance of flash floods,
07:10
landslides, and flash floods today.
07:13
Here in Palawan,
07:14
the trough or extension of Severe Tropical Storm Christine
07:17
is outside of Par.
07:18
And the rains in Visayas and Northern Mindanao
07:22
are due to the Southwest Sea Wind Flow
07:25
that is currently being caused by Severe Tropical Storm Christine.
07:28
So let's be prepared for landslides and landslides in these areas.
07:33
For the rest of Mindanao,
07:35
generally fair weather conditions are what we expect today.
07:38
Mostly cloudy conditions in the morning,
07:40
but improving weather conditions when reaching
07:42
before noon,
07:43
but when reaching late afternoon to evening,
07:45
there are still chances of isolated rain showers
07:49
or localized thunderstorms.
07:50
Maximum temperature forecast for Clayan Islands today
07:53
is possible to reach 29 degrees Celsius.
07:56
30 degrees in the area of Puerto Princesa,
07:59
29 degrees Celsius in the area of Iloilo,
08:02
and 30 degrees Celsius in Cebu and Tacloban.
08:05
Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro today
08:09
is possible to reach 33 degrees Celsius.
08:11
34 degrees in the area of Davao,
08:13
and 31 degrees Celsius in the area of Zamboanga.
08:17
And in terms of our ocean,
08:19
we still have high gale warnings
08:22
in the western seaboard of Northern Luzon.
08:25
So here in the western coast of Pangasinan,
08:27
in the towns of Bolinao, Bani, Agno, Burgos, Dasol, and Infanta,
08:32
we still have high gale warnings there
08:34
because of our fishermen and small fishing boats
08:38
And to these towns, if possible,
08:40
please do not go out
08:42
because we can still experience
08:44
severe tropical storm Christine.
