Hello. The start of a new metrological season has also meant a major change in the weather.
00:07
We currently have an area of low pressure to the west of the country and that area of
00:12
low pressure is set to dominate the weather over the coming days, spreading cloud and
00:16
rain across many parts of the country. And looking at the latest radar sequence, we have
00:21
that rain already across some areas in the west and particularly across parts of Northern
00:25
Ireland where we are seeing some heavier bursts. And we do currently have a yellow
00:31
weather rain warning covering parts of Northern Ireland and South West Scotland and that is
00:35
valid for the remainder of Saturday afternoon. So that cloud and rain continues to move north
00:41
and eastwards very slowly during the course of Saturday afternoon, although eastern areas
00:45
stay in largely dry with a few isolated showers. Temperatures generally above average, especially
00:52
where we see those sunny spells across eastern areas with temperatures reaching 26 degrees
00:57
in some spots. And that cloud and rain continues to edge eastwards overnight tonight with a
01:04
renewed push of heavy rain arriving across the south and west and parts of West Wales
01:09
later. Overnight temperatures remaining comfortably in double figures but that wind strengthening
01:15
across parts of the south west later in the night. So a wet start to Sunday morning with
01:20
further outbreaks of heavy rain moving north and eastwards across Northern Ireland and
01:24
Scotland. The best of any dryness really reserved for the far east of the country. Temperatures
01:30
again tomorrow above average with highs of 24 or 25 across the south and east. And remaining
01:38
unsettled as we look further into the new week with low pressure dominating the picture,
01:44
windy at times with a risk of coastal gales also in the mix. Thank you for listening and
01:49
please stay tuned to our social media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now.
