00:00BERSATU STANDS TO LOSE THE MOST IF AN UMNO-PASS ALLIANCE FORMS, SAYS A POLITICAL ANALYST

00:09Azmi Hassan of Academy Nusantara said, Perikatan Nasional's strength largely comes from Pass,

00:14not Bersatu, and that Bersatu relies on Pass to advance its political goals.

00:20Azmi attributed much of Bersatu's recent successes, like Azizi Abu Naim's win in

00:24Nangeri in Kelantan state election, to Pass supporters.

00:28Recently, Pass Information Chief Ahmad Fadli Shaari mentioned informal meetings between

00:33top leaders of both parties, also claiming that an unnamed UMNO leader expressed a dilemma

00:39over UMNO's role in the Pakatan Harapan-led Unity government, seeing it as detrimental.

00:45Azmi said Fadli's comments might be a strategy to counter government spokesman Fahmi Fazil's

00:49suggestion of Pass joining the coalition government, and to destabilize UMNO and undermine its

00:54president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

00:57Meanwhile, Analyst Azrul Hadi Abdul Hassani suggested that future cooperation between

01:02PH and the UMNO-led Barisan Nasional depends on their performance in GE16.

01:08He advised Bersatu against joining forces with PH, as it could reverse its electoral

01:12successes against UMNO.
