00:00Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has questioned the government's decision to revamp the 13th Malaysia Plan, slated to be tabled in Parliament at the end of July.
00:12Rafizi said the last-minute overhaul of the next five-year development plan for Malaysia would raise concerns among the civil servants who prepared the 13 MP, market analysts and Malaysians as a whole.
00:24He asked whether the changes would be rushed since there would be insufficient time to refer the plan to the interagency planning group, technical working group and experts who formulated the initial 13 MP.
00:37He also asked why the 13 MP was suddenly being overhauled now when there were no issues raised when its contents were tabled previously.
00:45He added that the 13 MP is an important document for the nation and was developed by thousands of Malaysians from various segments of society.
00:54He said if not careful, the 13 MP will be dragged into political polemics, which would end up hampering the people's confidence in the final document.
01:03He said this would be a great injustice to those who worked hard on the plan over the past year.
