00:00 Metro Manila Council believes that the new working schedule will help to address the heavy traffic in Metro Manila.
00:10 Meanwhile, the agency also assured that they are ready to stop the Manibela group on Monday.
00:16 That's what Ryan Lesigas reported.
00:18 Metro Manila Council or MMC and MMDA assured that the work will not be affected by the local governments
00:26 while implementing the new working time arrangement.
00:30 Instead of 8 to 5 p.m., the working hours will be 7 to 4 p.m. to reduce the heavy traffic in NCR.
00:38 MMC President and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said that they can put a skeletal force from 4 to 5 p.m.
00:47 if there are many pending transactions.
00:49 But instead of April 15, this will be implemented in May this year.
00:53 They wanted to give the public a chance to know the new working schedule.
00:59 They think that two weeks is enough for people to know the changes.
01:05 April 15 is only three days from now.
01:09 It's important for the public to know this information.
01:14 We at LGU can adjust easily because it's just a simple executive order.
01:21 Our various departments and government officials will know about it.
01:25 But the public, we would like to give them more time.
01:30 It was announced that LGU has more than 112,000 members in NCR.
01:35 MMC is confident that the 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. work schedule will help reduce the traffic in Metro Manila.
01:44 According to MMDA Resolution No. 24-08, Series 2024,
01:49 the traditional 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. working hours in government offices in Metro Manila will be added to the traffic.
01:56 The resolution also states that the leaders of local government units, particularly in NCR, should be aware that this will not affect the public service they provide to their constituents.
02:10 Meanwhile, MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes said that MMDA is also working with MMC on May 2 on the implementation of the 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. work schedule.
02:21 MMDA and MMC are also looking at cleaning the busy lanes to help reduce the traffic in Metro Manila.
02:29 Regardless if the vehicle is attended or unattended, the penalty is already P4,000.
02:36 The only difference is if it's unattended, we will tow it.
02:41 Yes. But whether or not the driver is there, the penalty is already P4,000.
02:49 Meanwhile, MMDA assured that they are ready for the scheduled stop of Manibela group on Monday.
02:55 MMDA is particularly monitoring some places in Metro Manila like Novaliches, Sukat Baklaran, Monumento, Anonas, Pasig Market and Taguig.
03:06 At the same time, MMDA also reminded e-trikes, e-bikes and tricycles that are not allowed to pass major roads starting April 15.
03:17 We will not extend the penalty. The penalty is P2,500.
03:22 But if you don't have a license or registration for e-bikes or e-trikes, you will be subject to impoundment because we will not charge a penalty if the situation is like that.
03:38 So again, you are prohibited from driving on major roads in Metro Manila by April 15.
03:43 MMDA asked the public to be disciplined on the road so that the traffic will be lessened.
