Wet and windy with showers and outbreaks of rain

Remaining wet and windy over the next few days with scattered showers and longer spells of rain which may be wintry. Feeling colder too as temperatures drop to around the average for the time of year.

00:00 Hello there. We've got quite a bright and breezy day on Friday with some sunny spells,

00:10 but showers will develop and these will be most frequent across western areas. A fairly

00:15 breezy day though, so these showers will be blown further eastwards later in the day and

00:19 could possibly be wintry, especially over the Scottish hills. There will be lighter

00:24 wind as we move into Saturday as most places will be dry with lots of sunshine, but there

00:28 will be a few showers around and these will be mostly for the far west and the far south

00:33 and could merge into longer spells of rain. A cold start to the day on Sunday with some

00:38 sunny spells, but cloud cover will tend to build during the day and there will be some

00:42 heavy rain across the English Channel which may just bump into southern counties of England,

00:46 but there's a little bit of uncertainty at the moment about this. Mainly dry on Monday

00:50 with some bright spells, but rain will sink southwards across northern Britain on Tuesday.
