00:02 - Chow, as we look around the NFL,
00:04 one of the stories yesterday in that early window,
00:07 BYU rookie, Jared Hall gets the start for Minnesota
00:11 following the Achilles injury to Kirk Cousins.
00:14 He leads the game in the opening half,
00:16 entering in concussion protocol.
00:18 Joshua Dobbs comes in five days after arriving
00:22 in Minneapolis from that trade deadline from Arizona
00:26 and leads the Vikings back to a victory.
00:29 But Dr. Chow, now with Jaren Hall in concussion protocol,
00:32 what are those discussions happening behind the scenes
00:35 for this Vikings franchise of who the starting quarterback
00:38 is going to be moving forward?
00:40 - Well, first of all, without Josh Dobbs,
00:42 the Vikings would have no quarterback luck at all.
00:45 And with the victory, you have to think
00:47 he gets the starting job now, even though he just arrived,
00:50 whether Jaron Hall clears or not.
00:52 I don't see it being Hall because even if he can clear
00:56 concussion protocol for next week,
00:59 are you really putting in a rookie
01:01 who didn't really practice with the team all week
01:04 and just throwing him in there?
01:05 You might do that for Kirk Cousins.
01:07 You're not doing that for Jaron Hall, no offense to him.
01:10 And especially when Josh Dobbs came in and played well,
01:12 now has an extra week.
01:14 But without Dobbs, the Vikings would have
01:16 no quarterback luck at all.
01:17 Obviously the Achilles to Kirk Cousins,
01:21 the concussion very early, Jaron Hall,
01:23 and their emergency backup quarterback yesterday
01:25 was none other than Cam Akers.
01:28 And he suffered a left Achilles tendon rupture
01:31 during the game.
01:32 Opposite side from the time with the Rams,
01:35 very unfortunate for Cam Akers.
