00:00Finally, more cease and desist in the state of Massachusetts, meeting out all of the offshore sports betting operators, as we've seen.
00:09And again, in the prediction market for Craig Misch, I had these offshore operators sticking around and saying, you know, forget you, we're going to still operate.
00:19But man, they are ceasing and desisting. Is that a word? Desisting?
00:22They sure are. And I think, I mean, this is a huge, you know, point of the regulated market is to shut down these illegal operators and try to get consumers betting on safe sites and generating tax revenue for the states.
00:37And I think it took a little while. I think a lot of these states and the regulators and even the operators just wanted to kind of make sure the market was vibrant, make sure that they were, you know, getting and securing customers before taking action against these offshore operators.
00:54Last year, we saw a huge amount of action against Bovada, including in Massachusetts, where the attorney general sent a seasoned assist.
01:00And Bovada, to your point, you know, probably the best known offshore sports book has seasoned assisted every state that has sent them and even some others that haven't sent them seasoned assist letters.
01:12Now they've come out and the attorney general in Massachusetts sent seasoned assist letters to bet online and sports betting dot a G, which, you know, I see it pretty regularly on, you know, so sports influencers saying, you know, go bet at bet online.
01:27And so it's interesting. They're still kind of infiltrating the market and market acquisition areas.
01:33But in Massachusetts, they say, no, you can't. And it is important to note that, you know, Massachusetts is one of the most active regulators.
01:40They dole out fines a lot to, you know, official licensed operators.
01:46And so it is interesting to see the state actually come in and say, no, if you're not licensed and you're not regulated, you do need to get out for good here.
01:53So and this is just, again, just one state we've seen do a lot of this, you know, Michigan, Arizona, Louisiana just last month sent out 40, which I know you are always surprised at how many illegal and offshore operators there are.
02:07But, yeah, the regulators across the country are getting more diligent about saying, hey, you're not licensed, you're not regulated, you're illegal.
02:15Get out, please.
