London headlines 3rd March: Tributes paid to ‘brilliant and talented’ Sarah Everard on the second anniversary of her murder
  • last year
Tributes have been paid to Sarah Everard, on the second anniversary of her murder. The thirty-three-year-old marketing executive was described as brilliant and talented by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, as domestic abuse charities and women's groups warned nothing has changed regarding women's safety.

Next - some Londoners were delighted to hear the news that popular bakery chain Gails is considering opening drive thru locations in the city - but others are concerned about the environmental impact. Among them, former Green Party co-leader, Sian Berry, who said Is there any journey less in need of a car than picking up a loaf of bread?. She added that this is not the time to be encouraging more car use.

And last - A north London NHS trust performed surgery on the wrong patient last year - and gave another the "wrong implant or prosthesis". The incidents were among six 'never events' recorded by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust who have since apologised to those affected.
