Chicken Changezi is a Mughlai dish and a very popular dish in North India. It is very famous dish in Delhi, specially old Delhi is famous for mouthwatering chicken changezi.Chicken Changezi is a rich, creamy and delicious Mughlai style chicken curry. Its is a royal dish cooked in tomato based gravy incorporated with several spices.Cream and milk is added to cut the spicy flavor and makes it more rich in taste.Today I am sharing my Restaurant style Chicken Changezi recipe.It can be easily cooked at home and if made smoked with coal then no one can make out that it is home made.This is the easiest recipe of Changezi you can try. Ingredients for the recipe
For marination..
1 kg chicken
1 tbsp lemon juice/ nibu ka ras
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste/ adrak lehsun
1 cup or 200 gm curd/ dahi
For gravy
1/2 cup oil + 1/4 cup ghee
1 big sliced onion/pyaaz
12 to15 Almonds/badaam
1 tbsp ginger garlic/adrak lensun paste
2 medium size tomato/tamater paste
1 tsp salt or as per taste
1 tsp garam masala powder prefer homemade
1 tsp red chili/ laal mirch powder
1 tsp chat masala
1 tsp coriander powder/ dhaniya powder
1/2 tsp green cardamom powder/hari elaichi powder
1 tbsp dry fenugreek leaves /kasuri methi
1/2 cup or 125 ml milk/doodh
1/3 cup cream
some green chopped corinader/hara dhaniya
5 to 6 slit bullet green chilies/hari moti mirch
Notes : Prefer non stick pan to avoid sticking.
Always use proper measuring spoons and cups for perfect measurement.
