Mawa Gujiya is a traditional dish stuffed with sweet khoya,dry coconut and dry fruits .Gujiya is a sweet deep fried dumpling made with maida/all purpose flour. Gujiya is stuffed with mawa /khoya mixed with dry fruits.It is most common sweet dish in North Indian specially made for the festival of holi.Celebtaion of Holi is incomplete without gujiya. Many versions of gujiya stuffing are available these days,like mawa gujiya,rawa gujiya,rawa mawa gujiya etc. Today I am sharing my no fail recipe of mawa gujiya with all tricks and trips and with same stuffing we will prepare chocolate gujiya for a change.If you like my recipe please like ,share and subscribe to my channel chop n chill..lets start
Ingredients for the recipe : -
For making dough..
300 gm/2 cups all purpose flour/maida
1/3 cup desi ghee/clarified butter
1/2 tsp salt
little cold water as required( around 150 ml used)
For filling..
2 tsp ghee
20 Almonds /badam finely chopped
20 cashew nuts/kaju finely chopped
20 raisins/kishmish chopped
3/4 cup of grated dry coconut/desiccated coconut or nariyal ka bhura/half of small coconut
1/2 cup powdered sugar/bhura or as per taste(if using non sweetened mawa the add more sugar)
200 gm of mawa/khoya/khoa(I am using my homemade sweetened mawa)
1/2 tsp of green cardamom powder/hari elaichi powder
For chocolate filing (makes 6 gujiya)
4 tbsp mawa filling + 3 tbsp grated chocolate
For chocolate coating 100 gms chocolate(makes 3 to 5)
some sprinkles for chocolate gujiya decoration
Enough oil for frying
Note : keep Chocolate coated gujiya on butter paper to avoid sticking on plate.
