Homemade Soft and Simple Whole Wheat Bread | Food Celebrations

Homemade Wholemeal Bread is so easy to make with just a few ingredients available in the pantry. It takes just 10 minutes of your working time and is so soft, delicious and healthy, you would never want to get store bought bread again.

Ingredients
Yeast 1 Tbsp
Sugar 1 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Plain Flour 1 & ½ cup
Wheat Flour 2 & ½ cup
Butter 2 Tbsp

Method:
Place yeast and sugar in a bowl and add ½ cup warm water. After 15 minutes the yeast will bubble up. In another bowl take the wheat flour and the plain flour, add salt, butter and the yeast mixture. Mix and knead to a soft dough. Cover and allow to rest for 1 – 1 & ½ hour. Knead the dough again and roll out. Place the dough in a loaf tin. Apply a little warm milk on it. Let in proof for another 30 minutes. Bake at 170 degrees centigrade for 25 – 30 minutes. When ready let it cool and then slice it as per your preference.
