Russia recognises Sinai plane crash as 'terrorist act'

The Kremlin recognised for the first time on Tuesday that a bomb brought down a Russian passenger plane last month over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, killing all 224 people on board.

Moscow says traces of explosives were found in the debris.

President Vladimir Putin has ordered special services to focus on finding those behind what Russia is now calling a ‘terrorist act’.

ISIL’s Egyptian affiliate has said it was responsible.
