Will Chinese investment bring good fortune to France?

In France, the Socialist government is trying to balance its budget, eager to prove to Brussels and to foreign investors that it's serious about making economic reforms. Last year, Paris unveiled a massive privatisation programme, including selling a major stake in Toulouse airport.
Selling state assets may help the government's coffers, but what sparked controversy was who they were sold to. The state’s decision to sell such a large stake to mostly Chinese investors has proven divisive.
So is Chinese investment a threat or an opportunity for France?
