01:41So basically all the glossy self, Allure, Vanity Fair, GQ, I don't remember, Vogue, if there's anything else.
01:50Because, oh, I think Bon Appetit's still around.
01:53You know, they closed a lot of magazines about 10 years ago.
01:55And they've moved a lot of them on to only digital.
01:59But she has been the chief content officer.
02:01So, oh, and Architectural Digest, of course.
02:03And she oversees everything.
02:05And then editors-in-chief of most of those magazines now are not editors-in-chiefs, but editorial directors who answer to her.
02:13And so each magazine has her imprint.
02:15And she signs off on everything that goes in them.
02:18So, in fact, she's not giving up Vogue.
02:20She's just being the queen of everything.
02:23And just what exactly was she so influential?
02:27And how do you think she's going to be remembered?
02:29Well, she was so influential because she turned that magazine into a powerhouse, as we saw in the movie The September Issue, which came out about 15 years ago now, I guess.
02:43And, you know, the magazine would be so thick, full of ads.
02:46And she really did use Vogue as a way not just to reach people who love fashion, but all sorts of people.
02:55She would put first ladies on the cover and she would put, you know, had leaders in all different domains on the cover, not just fashion people, not just models.
03:03She's the one who moved Vogue from putting models on the cover to putting celebrities on the cover.
03:10And, you know, she famously did this with Madonna and then went from there.
03:14And so she really did sort of link the fashion world with pop culture and celebrity in a far more profound way than anybody had at Vogue before.
03:24And speaking of celebrities, she was, of course, at the helm of the Met Gala for years, making it one of the fashion world's biggest annual events.
03:35Yes, of course.
03:35And she and she'll keep doing that, too.
03:37She's not stepping away from that.
03:39You know, the costume institute is called the, you know, has Anna Wintour's name on it.
03:45So, you know, that's her baby.
03:46And while she may be doing less day to day overseeing a Vogue, she won't be micromanaging the magazine anymore, like, you know, and making sure everything's running smoothly in the magazine.
03:58Instead, she'll be sort of overseeing its global content.
04:02Basically, she's going to be delegating more.
04:04But, yes, still maintaining her power and her influence.
04:08And she'll be doing the same at the Met, with the Met Gala and the Costume Institute.
04:12And she's been at the head.
04:13So it's not, she's not really retiring.
04:15She's just.
04:17She's still going to be there.
04:20She's still going to be there.
04:21She's still going to be in charge.
04:22And she's also going to be taking on the role as well of helping to find her successor.
04:27Is it too early to predict who that might be?
04:29Well, I mean, there's a couple of people who have been, whose names have been thrown around.
04:35She likes to put some of her pet people into jobs.
04:38She just put one of her former assistants from Vogue at the head of Vanity Fair.
04:43She put one of her former assistants, you know, who was running, working on the website, in charge of British Vogue to replace Edward Ennenfull.
04:50Her name is Shilma Nandi.
04:52And there's a lot of talk that she might be moved from British Vogue to American Vogue.
04:56There's also Lindsay Peoples, who runs The Cut.
04:59Which is the fashion vertical at New York Magazine.
05:03She's one of the people who might be up for it.
05:05There's a couple of other people whose names have been sort of batted around.
05:09But no doubt it'll be somebody who worked for Anna, who can answer to Anna, who Anna trusts, you know, implicitly and knows everything will be fine.
05:18And who's not scared of her.
05:19Because she was not only revered and respected, but quite feared in the fashion industry as well.
05:25Could make or break a career.
05:27Absolutely.
05:28Thanks so much, Dana.
05:29We'll have to leave it there for now.
05:30But do thank you so much for joining us on the programme this evening with that breaking news about Anna Wintour.
