MUSEE GUIMET (PARIS)

Videos and photos without flash are allowed in the Guimet museum near Trocadéro in Paris, France. (métro: IENA, but there is a lot of public transportation access to this part of town)

Emil Guimet was an industrialist in Lyon. In the 19th c. he housed his "Eastern" collections and a library in a special building, and left it to the public, with a Foundation. Lots of Asia and India here. The first Sunday of each month, "heritage days," (journées due patrimoine), admission is free here and at many other things in France. There is a lot to see here in the permanent collections, and there are ateliers, lectures, a restaurant and shop which might interest you.
