Taking time away from matters of state Barack Obama has performed the now traditional presidential task of sparing two turkeys the fate of becoming someone’s Thanksgiving dinner.
On the eve of the annual US holiday one called “Popcorn” and the other “Caramel” were duly given a presidential pardon.
The lucky birds will not be among the estimated 46 million turkeys Americans consume on Thanksgiving every year.
