00:00Hello and welcome to this Jane's weather update this is for New South Wales updated on Friday we
00:07have a big weather system here over Queensland and northern parts of the state all of this is
00:12going to be slowly moving eastwards then we're going to have onshore stream showers coming
00:17through so a lot of wet weather in the next couple of days over in the west of the country we've got
00:21a feed of tropical moisture we've got a cold front coming through that'll deliver big falls
00:25for there too before it moves to the southeast later on I'll have some interesting news for the
00:29Riverina and southern New South Wales about what you're going to see from that one all right let's
00:33unpack it day by day so here is Friday have a look in the southwest corner there for which day it is
00:37we've got some big falls here in these inland parts of Queensland so this is developing and slowly
00:42heading eastwards you get the wet weather anywhere east of the trough which by the end of today is
00:47running just in through here so this is the the area for big falls today in New South Wales five
00:53to ten millimetres maybe 10 to 15 as these moves through we're starting to see activity on the
00:58coastal parts here system coming into the west really moving through the west this one mainly
01:04on Saturday the big falls are here well north of Brisbane and we don't have much left for New
01:09South Wales there is this little bit I'm calling it the leftovers kind of the dregs that are just
01:13coming off the back edge of that there will be some wet weather there but it won't add up to much
01:18in the rain gauge so fairly dry through the inland parts as we go through Saturday but the coast
01:23a very different story high pressure southeast of Tasmania onshore winds so it showers streaming
01:29on through yes another wet weekend for Sydney heading into Sunday still got those stream showers
01:35there fairly dry inland just remains of those dregs that are happening through there next weather system
01:40coming across by the end of Sunday here is that there the cold front moving in it's got lovely
01:46tropical moisture coming into it but watch what that is going to do with the next high pressure
01:50system here we are by the end of Monday high out through here stream showers for the coast
01:55we've got northerly winds in the southeast here's the next high pressure system already over the bite
02:01what that does is disrupt that connection to tropical moisture so it is as juicy as what it was when it
02:07was over in the west and delivered the big falls also that high out ahead means this cold front
02:12see how upright it is it's hitting a block and it's going to slide down across the southeast
02:17so on Tuesday this is all we have left in the southwest corner two to five millimeters
02:22for most of the riverina it's just zero to one so we're not seeing a lot out of this one we'll get
02:27cloud a little bit of wet weather but that's it and then that moves away as we move into Wednesday
02:31so the next high pressure system sitting here the coastal onslaught has at least weakened as we move
02:36through the middle of next week next weather system coming across let's watch that one by the end
02:41of Thursday it's here by the end of Friday it is here maybe we might be able to get something out of
02:46that because it's got a slightly different trajectory but it is a full week away all right having a look
02:51at the totals for that here are the big falls in this Queensland system here are the big falls along
02:55the coast you see just how a coastal fringe system this is 50 to 75 millimeters right down in through
03:02here 25 to 50 if you move anywhere just inland it's more around the 10 to 15 15 to 25 as this came
03:09across nice falls in through here but in the south there is not much at all and we're not going to see a
03:14lot out of this drag system that comes in big falls over here 50 to 75 by the time it reaches the
03:20southeast is run out of falls let's have a look at what all of that means for Sydney yes another wet
03:25weekend rain at times today increasing as we go through Saturday so three millimeters Friday
03:30excuse me 21 millimeters as the average across the models on Saturday 14 as we go through Sunday so
03:37that breaks to showers because it's stream flow coming through we still have some showers there on
03:42Monday but then it's uh much less as we're going to Tuesday and Wednesday next week so
03:46another wet weekend for Sydney head to farm online weather for the latest
