11:49So that's kind of where I'm pulling my inspiration from for this performance wear look

19:23As you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out
19:27For this challenge I asked you to create performance wear that will work with my new balance collection
19:34This performance wear was supposed to be fashionable and hip
19:38You know for the girl who wants to look good when she's working out
19:42The winning designer's look will be manufactured and sold as part of my new balance collection
19:48You had one day and fabrics from my line to complete your look

20:15Alright, let's start the show
20:17She looks amazing, she looks like a fashion forward girl who lives an active lifestyle
20:33Which is Heidi Klum's client
20:35She feels sporty and just the look all together, I'm really proud of it
20:50This look represents me as a designer because of the way that I used the colors
20:55And did a lot of very intricate creative seaming in the pattern work
20:59It really looks battery powered
21:04That green color is popping and glowing like I never thought it could
21:12In the critique with Heidi, she liked where I was going and she understood the girl that I was designing for
21:22I'm offering a new perspective and she looks strong
21:25I know I'm taking a risk on this garment but that's what fashion is
21:36I'm in complete awe
21:37The pop of color on the leggings, it's just right
21:46Although it does border fashion and function
21:49It is a really cool look that Heidi doesn't have in her collection now
21:52It's gonna be a winner
21:55She's obviously running in Brooklyn

22:10Thinking that I might be in the top because it has pieces that Heidi doesn't have in her line already

22:21I don't do athletic wear but I was happy with the architecture that went behind her
22:32The only question I have with the garment is it was a little bit too much cheek for me
22:38But otherwise I was happy with that
22:39Overall I think my garment looks good walking down the runway but my model looks as if she don't want to wear it
22:53It's a lot of pressure on this challenge because this goes to Heidi's line and if she don't like it I guarantee I am going to be in the bottom
23:06No one wants a black pair of pants because every woman's got about 15 pairs in her wardrobe already that's why I made my pants out of that shockingly disgusting purple
23:21Athletic wear is challenging it's interesting it's good to have a point of view but it's not my strongest point
23:36I am happy with how the top looks it's okay like it's not the end of the world the look hold together all right
23:43I definitely wish that I had designed something different initially
24:01For my first attempt at activewear I think I did a pretty good job I think the colors are interesting the blocking is interesting

25:33I wanted to create two pieces that could be layered with different items
25:37I did this motocross type pant
25:39And then this loose pullover that has like a cowl neck and then a little pop of the red color from your collection

25:52I like the fabric the way you used it together
25:55That it has the mesh going all the way down the arm
25:57I think it incorporates fashion and function

26:27Well this is my first venture in athletic wear
26:30I wanted to keep the silhouette simple and clean
26:33I just basically color blocked it keeping the lines from your 2014 collection
26:38I just kept a simple razorback top and a little zippy sweater
26:43I like the color blocking
26:45I also noticed that when you zip up the jacket
26:48Is it asymmetric on the top?
26:49Yes, it is asymmetrical
26:50I can totally see a lot of hip women wanting to wear this

26:58And I think you highlighted the black area in the right places
27:03I would not have done that color blocking in that spot
27:06I think that cutting her all the way up here in the gray makes her look wider

27:53Well, I scratched my first look that I was working on when you came into the workroom
27:58I kept it black on the inside of the leggings
28:01In the front and the back to kind of camouflage sweat areas
28:04And I wanted something long to avoid camel toe
28:07And in the back, I kind of wove these straps together just to add a little something to the outfit
28:14There is something about the proportion where you've cut this top that is very awkward
28:20And she looks like she's wearing either a scuba suit or a girdle
28:24It's too low
28:26I did mention scuba suit once when we were in the workroom and I said when it is too long the top
28:32Be careful that it doesn't look like a dress over leggings
28:35Unfortunately, I think you're on the rack with his look
28:39It would be in the store and it would probably be on the markdown rack

28:56I just made a pant that you could run in, do yoga in, and then matched it with a jacket
29:01And if you see the back, there's like a vent in the back
29:04So I used the mesh in the top part so if you're sweating you can air out
29:08And then played off that boyfriend tee using the four stripes from the New Balance
29:13Slicing it and giving you a little air flow
29:17Well, I don't understand how she can do yoga in those pants or run in the pants
