00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Through the next 24 hours, we're seeing a fair amount of clouds, some brighter breaks.
00:08At the same time, there will be a little rain and drizzle around, even some showers.
00:12But if you cast your eye down towards the southeast of Europe, where we've seen extreme heat through the last week,
00:18good news for locals as well as tourists, that heat is gradually waning here.
00:23High pressure extends from the Atlantic towards the UK through the next few days,
00:27but a weather front on Thursday could trigger some heavy showers,
00:30and the air turns a lot more humid, particularly across central and southern areas.
00:34But Friday into Saturday, fairly fine conditions.
00:38For the time being, you may run into some patchy rain, one or two showers if you're heading out and about.
00:44There's a lot of cloud overnight, and that cloud will be low, and what that means, poor visibility,
00:49particularly over the hills and mountains as well as the moors.
00:52And through the night, yet again, some dampness in the air,
00:55and those showers could just come and go across central and eastern areas.
00:59It's going to be a mild night, warm for some towards the south,
01:02and quite a murky start to the day come Wednesday morning.
01:06Now, if you are stepping out first thing on Wednesday,
01:09again, there could be spits and spots of rain in the wind.
01:13For most, it's a dry start, just a lot of cloud.
01:15But the cloud will break at times through the morning into the afternoon,
01:19particularly across central and eastern areas.
01:20At the same time, by lunchtime, you'll see some patchy rain for Northern Ireland.
01:24It will clear, brighter skies to follow as that rain and drizzle just arrives across the Western Isles.
01:30Notice this slitherous sunshine just extending down from central Belle to Scotland,
01:34northern England towards Wales and the west country.
01:37Further east, yet again, one or two light showers to end the day,
01:40and a fair amount of cloud here.
01:42But some brighter skies across Orkney as well as Shetland.
01:46Temperatures then will feel warm, actually, in any brighter parts of the day
01:51and in any sunshine through the afternoon.
01:5423 or 24 will be your high.
01:57Now, through Wednesday evening and overnight, some clearer skies yet again.
02:01But notice this weather front here.
02:03This is going to slide down from Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain,
02:07clipping the far southwest of Scotland,
02:09eventually reaching Wales as well as the west country into the early hours of Thursday morning.
02:13Starry skies across eastern counties and still some dampness in the air
02:17with one or two showery bursts across the north as well as the west of Scotland.
02:22Now, through the morning, notice we'll see some showers develop across Wales
02:26as well as central southern England.
02:27They'll migrate their way eastwards as well,
02:29and they could turn heavy with the risk of thunder.
02:32So, we could see some impactful weather associated with a heavy downpour here.
02:37They'll be fairly scattered, but it's worth noting there could be
02:40some wet weather around through Thursday afternoon if you are travelling elsewhere.
02:44Some brighter skies, a few showers around, but it will feel warm.
02:48So, temperatures through the afternoon on Thursday.
02:51Across Scotland and Northern Ireland, around 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
02:55Further south across Wales, down towards the southeast,
02:58we're likely to see probably 24 to 26.
03:01So, feeling very warm in any brighter breaks,
03:03but watch out for those heavy downpours.
03:06Now, as we head through Thursday evening and overnight,
03:10those showers continue for a time before they gradually ease.
03:14And what that means for Friday, there will be a few showers,
03:18particularly from the East Midlands, East Anglia,
03:20down towards the southeast.
03:21Elsewhere, some fine weather, a mix of cloud and sunshine.
03:25A similar situation into Saturday, probably the best day of the week
03:28where we'll see mostly dry conditions
03:30and some warm, brighter breaks coming through.
03:33I'll see you later.
