00:00Hello with your national weather forecast as we have a look at what we can expect heading into
00:04tomorrow. That's Tuesday the 29th of July. First a look at the synoptic map and the main weather
00:09feature we're tracking is this low pressure system and cold front across southern parts of the
00:13country. It is the same weather system that brought heavy rain and strong winds to western
00:17Australia but as it moves towards the east it is gradually easing up. We will still see a few
00:22showers though about parts of South Australia, Southern Queensland, New South Wales and
00:27northwestern Victoria. South of that though there is a trough approaching western parts of Tasmania
00:31that will bring a few showers into Tuesday evening but the rest of the country we do have a broad
00:36ridge of high pressure and that's maintaining mostly settled conditions across the east coast
00:41and the north and the west of the country. Daytime temperatures will be above average though across
00:46northern Queensland but with cooler southerly winds pushing up daytime temperatures will be below
00:50average across central and northern parts of Western Australia. So now a state-by-state look
00:55starting off in Queensland. A cold start with frost temperatures dropping down to below zero degrees
01:00and close to zero degrees. The showers across the channel country are pushed across southern parts
01:05of the state through the afternoon and for those across Brisbane and the Gold Coast we may see a few
01:09light showers towards the evening. Elsewhere a few showers and cloudy conditions across the tropical north
01:14but daytime temperatures will be up to eight degrees above average through the Gulf country but below
01:19average across southeastern parts of the state. For Brisbane a partly cloudy day a possible shower late at night
01:24with a top of 22 degrees. A shower or two in Cairns with a top of 29. In New South Wales you will see
01:30a few showers developing across the far northwest of the state. They'll push eastwards through the
01:35day and by the evening most districts west of the divide will see a few light showers. Heaviest
01:40falls are most likely through the Sunrasia and also Western Riverina and for those along the east coast
01:45there is a slight chance of a shower at night but that's more likely on Wednesday including for Sydney
01:49with a top of 19 degrees. You will see snow above about 1200 meters through the Alps and in Canberra
01:54possible late showers at the top of 13. For Victoria you will see southwesterly winds along the coast
02:01bring a few showers including for Melbourne and then into the afternoon showers will build across
02:05the Mallee and push down into the northwest of the state. Snow is possible above about 1200 meters in
02:11the morning but otherwise it will be quite a cool to cold day. 14 degrees in Melbourne with a few showers
02:16and just 13 degrees in Mildura with those showers developing through the day. For Tasmania a few
02:21showers about the west and the south of the state in the morning they'll gradually contract away but
02:25as that trough moves up from the south you will see a few more showers developing across the far
02:30southwest of the state during the evening. Snow is possible about the central highlands but otherwise
02:34we are looking at a dry and mostly sunny afternoon across the east coast. For Hobart a possible morning
02:40shower too with a top of 12 degrees. For South Australia that low pressure system is driving widespread showers
02:46for central and eastern districts. The northern agricultural areas look to fare better than the
02:50southern agricultural areas so we are mostly looking at falls between 5 to 15 millimeters for
02:55the Eyre Peninsula, the Mid-North and the Riverland. Rainful totals do gradually taper off towards the
03:00southeast of the state though so for Adelaide only expecting a few showers and a cold day with just
03:0513 degrees. Cool to cold elsewhere but we are looking at a sunny day across northern parts of the state.
03:11For Western Australia showers about the south coast they could push inland into the Goldfields and
03:16southern Wheatbelt into the afternoon but gradually we are on an easing trend with showers contracting
03:21away as we head into Tuesday night. It will be a cold start through the Gascoigne though with some
03:25frost but otherwise daytime temperatures will be slightly above what we have seen over the last few
03:29days including Perth with a cool start 5 degrees but then a partly cloudy day with a top of 17 a little
03:35bit milder across the Pilbara. Finally for Northern Australia you will see dry conditions through the
03:40interior but just a few passing showers about the top end. Temperatures above average through parts
03:45of the NT but below average for parts of the Kimberley. In Darwin partly cloudy with a top of 31 degrees.
