00:00:30Hello, one and all! We're here with the only episode of Dimension 20, Cloudward Ho!
00:00:52I'm your humble dungeon master, Brennan Lee Mulligan. With me, as always, are our intrepid heroes. Say hi, intrepid heroes!
00:00:57Hi, intrepid heroes!
00:01:00Oh, I love it. Last we left off, the Zephyr was cloudward bound, going from the city of, come on, say it!
00:01:08Say it! Say it!
00:01:10The Zephyr was headed cloudward home!
00:01:16Split the difference. Split the difference. Split the difference.
00:01:20Headed to the sky from the swinging city of Belneweed after pitched combat with the lord of the Exchequer and Minister of Deranged Science, Kensington Cosgrove.
00:01:31He didn't get shit.
00:01:33He didn't get shit!
00:01:35Set some information which actually might be quite useful.
00:01:38I thought it was an exchange of information.
00:01:42Hearing about Rahman Su and various other facts of the lost and fabled land of Zood, Kensington seemed at a loss, searching for the presumed dead Professor Comfrey McCloud, your former captain and grandmother.
00:01:59As Olethra made her way into the captain's quarters of the Zephyr, within the secret compartment of the Zephyr's captain quarters, young Olethra discovered a number of objects.
00:02:12Yes, I did.
00:02:13Keys.
00:02:15A written message.
00:02:18And a bag of fruit snacks.
00:02:21Along with a brass sky sextant.
00:02:24What about the fruit snacks?
00:02:25What about the fruit snacks?
00:02:26What about the fruit snacks?
00:02:27On the deck, bullets were flying from Pappy's pistol. Monty took to the rotor gun. Van clobbered with her prosthesis, going hither and yon.
00:02:38Maria leapt to the captain, leapt to the helm, crashed into an imperial wasp and shot the engine out of it.
00:02:45And young Maxwell Gotch, seventh son of the Gotch family, leapt onto an aircraft, hurled the pilot into the sky, and then politely hopped back onto the Zephyr.
00:02:59And did not vomit.
00:03:00It was no one else.
00:03:01It was real well.
00:03:02It was all Aeoli, so I hope that other person is well.
00:03:06At the end of combat, Murdisher was unable to find whatever it was he was seeking in the captain's quarters.
00:03:12That proprietary information that he believed belonged to the Confederated Imperial Republic.
00:03:17Instead, cursing his ill luck that someone else had beat him to the punch.
00:03:21Which had to be young Olethra, who was elsewhere on the deck.
00:03:25Pappy and Monty squared up with him.
00:03:27Monty was able to get off a shot, marking Lord Murdisher as his tracker's quarry.
00:03:33And that's huge.
00:03:34Huge.
00:03:35It's huge.
00:03:36You just know where he is, or you can tell?
00:03:39You don't know exactly where he is, but he has a die that he can add to any, I think, wisdom-based checks.
00:03:43Yes, exactly.
00:03:44We have a connection.
00:03:45A bond.
00:03:46Ooh.
00:03:47Wow, you're not so different.
00:03:48Oh, so there's more going on there.
00:03:49Predator and prey.
00:03:50Oh, okay.
00:03:51That's the bond.
00:03:52That's the bond.
00:03:53But along the entire spectrum with that, you know?
00:03:55Oh, the gorgeous romantic bond of predator and prey.
00:03:58Whatever you both are into.
00:04:00Exactly.
00:04:01Will they?
00:04:02Won't they?
00:04:03Predator and prey.
00:04:04Now that's actually a tale as old as time, all right?
00:04:06I got it.
00:04:07Biologically speaking, love is a lot more recent than eating stuff, you know?
00:04:11Yeah.
00:04:13We see that the ship takes off into the sort of exit currents for the subterranean swinging city of Balnuit.
00:04:22As you see the black velvet blimps of the Balnuitian military begin to descend on the Confederated Imperial Republic's vessels.
00:04:32You have made your getaway as we return to the skies of Gath.
00:04:37Maria, Vann, you are beholding Alethra in the now active mech suit.
00:04:42Holy scrap.
00:04:44Hey.
00:04:45The mech cloud?
00:04:47It's actually working?
00:04:49I remember watching them try this out.
00:04:52It failed.
00:04:53It failed.
00:04:54It failed.
00:04:55Come here.
00:04:56Come here.
00:04:57Yes.
00:05:00All right.
00:05:01Well, you know.
00:05:02Okay, turn around.
00:05:03It's a learning process.
00:05:04Okay, other way.
00:05:05This one took a while too, so.
00:05:07Okay, do a dance.
00:05:11That was the dance with loud rhythm for it.
00:05:15Oh, wow.
00:05:16Like granddaughter, like grandmother.
00:05:17Like granddaughter, like grandmother.
00:05:18This is awesome.
00:05:19Is it?
00:05:20What does it say inside of there?
00:05:23It's just, I was hanging out in here a lot growing up, so it's just a bunch of books.
00:05:28I mean, you know, it's just every book Monty's ever written in here.
00:05:33And then some, you know, clay I like to model when I'm nervous.
00:05:37Oh, I shoot out from the bottom of it.
00:05:40And I show you guys, I get shit out by the mech.
00:05:46The exit from the mech is like a birthing canal?
00:05:49A tiny little birthing canal.
00:05:50And I come out head first, I'm crowning for nature.
00:05:53She's preaching.
00:05:54Pull her out.
00:05:55Pull her out.
00:05:56Pull her out.
00:05:58I pass these out.
00:05:59If anyone wants to look, there's definitely something with like, yeah.
00:06:03These are a good 20, 30 years old.
00:06:05I want to see if you know what that is with your knowledge.
00:06:08I have, okay, I, Maria adjusts her goggles to be reading goggles.
00:06:15Do I recognize this script?
00:06:17Do you not recognize the script?
00:06:19Fuck.
00:06:20This eludes me right now.
00:06:22Do I recognize these keys?
00:06:24Looking at the keys offhand, you don't recall, they don't go to anything on the ship.
00:06:29Okay.
00:06:30You know that.
00:06:31You may, go ahead and give me a history check if you'd be so kind.
00:06:33Sure.
00:06:36That's a 10.
00:06:37You have not seen these keys before, but you know that Professor McLeod, especially towards her later years, was very obsessed with archeology.
00:06:47And was very, like, those keys would look anachronistic and old, even to you guys in this sort of light.
00:06:53Guys, keys?
00:06:55Old.
00:06:56They're old keys.
00:06:57I love a key that you don't know where it goes to.
00:07:00Dingle dangle.
00:07:01Okay.
00:07:02I think we need to, one of us is going to have the lucky privilege of going around and putting each of these keys.
00:07:06into every single door.
00:07:08And it doesn't have to be me, but...
00:07:10No, I think we can do it together.
00:07:12Fine.
00:07:13We'll do it.
00:07:14Can I see him?
00:07:16Can I do an investigation check on the fruit snack?
00:07:20Yeah.
00:07:21Go for it.
00:07:22Pretty good, actually.
00:07:23Oh.
00:07:24Oh, 19.
00:07:25These are very old, and they're probably not great to eat.
00:07:29Okay.
00:07:30Good choice.
00:07:31I know I have one, and they're just exactly as good as the day they were made.
00:07:36It's worth pointing out that Van grew up exclusively eating a hardtack and salt beef.
00:07:41Oh, yeah.
00:07:42That's fresh.
00:07:43Those are fresh.
00:07:44Okay, great.
00:07:45While Olethra's looking at this, can I take Van aside?
00:07:48Yeah.
00:07:49And I have a...
00:07:50Okay, we did this thing.
00:07:51I have a rumor about the mech suit.
00:07:53That's right.
00:07:54Going to this season, everyone wrote down some true rumors about their characters, and they were mixed in with some false rumors written by me.
00:08:03Cool.
00:08:04Okay.
00:08:05Okay, Van.
00:08:06Yeah.
00:08:07Don't make a big deal of this, but I remember, like, you know, back when we were shooting the shit and everything.
00:08:13Yeah.
00:08:14Some of the engineers of this, at least for early prototypes, said that there's a kill switch that will kill whoever is inside this mech suit.
00:08:24Oh, but that's okay, because she's a little robot girl.
00:08:27Well, I think she's like a human.
00:08:32No, no, no.
00:08:33And then the robot is like...
00:08:34No, she's a little robot.
00:08:35Is she?
00:08:36Fuck.
00:08:37That's what I heard.
00:08:38I just, I heard that she was a little robot girl.
00:08:41You heard?
00:08:42Okay.
00:08:43I heard she was a little robot girl.
00:08:44You know, I honestly am not in a position to dispute that.
00:08:47Alethra is kind of like moving like this because she kind of hurt her shoulder while getting out of the mech suit, so she's like...
00:08:54Fuck.
00:08:55You know what, Van?
00:08:57Kind of NPC vibe.
00:08:59Van, you're fucking right.
00:09:01Yeah.
00:09:02I think she is a robot already.
00:09:03I think she's a robot girl.
00:09:04So, it kind of doesn't matter who's a killer.
00:09:05Okay.
00:09:06Well, I guess just keep an eye out if she does something that seems too funny or something.
00:09:10I guess, sure.
00:09:11Or maybe don't get it in yourself because I think there's a kill switch.
00:09:15Yeah.
00:09:16Oh, yeah.
00:09:17I mean, it also is probably a bit too...
00:09:18Yeah.
00:09:19Snug.
00:09:20Yeah.
00:09:21Okay.
00:09:22Well, that was a concern.
00:09:23What does the kill switch...
00:09:24Does it say what...
00:09:25Do you know what the kill switch does?
00:09:26It kills whoever's inside of it.
00:09:27They just kill...
00:09:28That's all you know is that there's a kill switch and it kills whoever's inside.
00:09:29Let me refer to my memories.
00:09:30Yeah.
00:09:31It has the capacity to kill whoever's inside.
00:09:34We still don't know who owns the kill switch.
00:09:36And we don't know which one it is.
00:09:37Oh, so it's somebody outside the thing has the kill switch.
00:09:40Yeah.
00:09:41Well, thank God, Ben, that she's a little robot girl.
00:09:44Yeah.
00:09:45Yeah.
00:09:46I have to agree with you.
00:09:47I'm really glad we talked because I was coming in with concern.
00:09:49Yeah.
00:09:50And now I'm walking away just excited to play with my keys.
00:09:53It's crazy.
00:09:54I remember changing her diaper as a little one.
00:09:59I mean, we all changed that diaper one after another.
00:10:02So I guess she just...
00:10:04McCloud just came along every few years and just grew her up.
00:10:08All right, well...
00:10:09She was a genius.
00:10:10Yeah.
00:10:11You know, you're right.
00:10:12She probably just made her own granddaughter.
00:10:14Yeah.
00:10:15Yeah.
00:10:16This was a great talk.
00:10:17That was a great talk.
00:10:18I miss you.
00:10:19I miss you.
00:10:20Oh my God, it feels so good.
00:10:23He's so small.
00:10:24No.
00:10:25Tiny little bird bones.
00:10:26Give me some of the old fruit.
00:10:28He has some fruit snacks.
00:10:29I eat old fruit.
00:10:31You see, I do actually get a little bit bigger.
00:10:34Pappy and Monty, you guys emerge from the Captain Quarters.
00:10:37The very shaken crew looks down at you, Maxwell, as you two walk out of the Captain Quarters.
00:10:44You see Captain Dotterdale goes,
00:10:46Master Gotch.
00:10:48Sorry.
00:10:49Is everything all right?
00:10:51What do we do?
00:10:52Everyone did a good job.
00:10:54So much blood.
00:10:55Take a break, everyone.
00:10:58Take five.
00:10:59We're flying the ship.
00:11:00We're flying the ship.
00:11:01We're flying the ship.
00:11:02Does that, is there like a, can you just like leave it?
00:11:06Does it stay up?
00:11:07Just keep it going straight or something.
00:11:08Can we keep it going straight?
00:11:10Okay.
00:11:11Okay.
00:11:12Yes.
00:11:13I'll see.
00:11:14I'll see what the pilot needs.
00:11:15You see, she walks off.
00:11:17Where did you get these?
00:11:20Well, I didn't get them.
00:11:21My father got them.
00:11:22Oh, right.
00:11:23Yeah, the banker.
00:11:24But I mean, we, we, we stole the ship.
00:11:27So they're, they're pretty cool.
00:11:28They're solid.
00:11:29Gotch.
00:11:30Gotch.
00:11:31You were a sight to behold out there.
00:11:32I will say.
00:11:33Young Gotch.
00:11:34Yeah.
00:11:35Or did you fly through the air?
00:11:36Well, uh.
00:11:37Now that's a solid Gotch.
00:11:38You pushed the whole mech right off the side of the ship.
00:11:42It's nice to see some people who appreciate the gentleman Fister.
00:11:45Yeah.
00:11:46Uh, yeah.
00:11:47Yes, I do.
00:11:48Yeah.
00:11:49Did anybody else get cut during that fight?
00:11:50I'm like bleeding kind of a lot.
00:11:52Yes.
00:11:53I'm covered in my own blood.
00:11:54For sure.
00:11:55I'm so, I have so much blood on me.
00:11:56For sure it was cut.
00:11:57Okay.
00:11:58I actually think I made it out without a single scratch.
00:12:01Thanks to Van.
00:12:02Wow.
00:12:03Well, I mean I.
00:12:04That's the job of devotion.
00:12:05I definitely shot you.
00:12:06And I shot you.
00:12:07You did get me a bit.
00:12:08And I think I almost shot you.
00:12:09Can I say?
00:12:10I feel a little left out that I didn't get shot.
00:12:13Okay.
00:12:14I'll get you two.
00:12:15Okay.
00:12:16Okay.
00:12:17I wasn't fully in on all of like the codes and everything.
00:12:18No.
00:12:19That's a Pilby 71.
00:12:20Yeah.
00:12:21Okay.
00:12:22Pilby 71 means I'm going to get shot.
00:12:23Back in 71.
00:12:24Okay.
00:12:25We were in Pilby and we had to get out real quick while we had a bunch of villains on
00:12:28the ship with us.
00:12:29So you had to shoot on the deck.
00:12:30Yes, exactly.
00:12:31Okay.
00:12:32Like he didn't, we didn't have Pilby 71.
00:12:34No.
00:12:35And I shot all of them.
00:12:36Yeah.
00:12:37Okay.
00:12:38Honestly, I got to say, I got confused with Pilby 69, which is a very different year.
00:12:43Different year, different code.
00:12:44Very different.
00:12:45Very different.
00:12:46Um, I have all these things and I'm, I'm not totally sure what we should do, but.
00:12:52Can I, yeah.
00:12:53Can I bounce?
00:12:54Feels like maybe this is, this is.
00:12:56Yeah.
00:12:57Can I hold this up?
00:12:59I want to see if this is directional for a world with a different physics.
00:13:05Uh-huh.
00:13:06No roll necessary.
00:13:07Boom.
00:13:08What?
00:13:09Wow.
00:13:10Okay.
00:13:11Let me try.
00:13:12How did you, how did you guess that?
00:13:14Yeah.
00:13:15I'm 43 years old and I've been working for about 42 of those times.
00:13:20Oh, I think Pappy cracked it.
00:13:23I'm probably going to throw it off.
00:13:25Yeah, no, I think it is a hat for Pappy.
00:13:28It might be another, it might be my level up hat.
00:13:31Maria, do you know where Ramonsu power station is?
00:13:36Do I?
00:13:37Never heard of it.
00:13:38Um, I will say on that sextant, you do see coordinates on it map as you sort of fiddle
00:13:43with it and move it together.
00:13:44They map to, there are directions, but man, they do not work with the directions you're aware of.
00:13:52Yeah, fill me in everything.
00:13:54I want to know.
00:13:55I, I hunkered down and studied it.
00:13:56On that, on that absolutely stone cold guess, you determine that there are four cardinal directions that this sextant can point out.
00:14:04Vex, Vim, Nox, and Meth.
00:14:09Oh, oh.
00:14:10Where is Nox?
00:14:11Nox.
00:14:12Okay, okay.
00:14:13Vim parallel.
00:14:14The seventh sub Vim parallel was in what McCloud said.
00:14:19Okay, yes.
00:14:20So whatever you, so something being sub Vim means that it has to be some kind of fixed point.
00:14:26Right.
00:14:27That you would be able to count from.
00:14:28Okay, as much as I really wanted to play with the fun unknown keys, I think that it is time for me to retire and just put this through every liquid I know.
00:14:39Every gas I know, everything that I could possibly blast at this.
00:14:43Sick.
00:14:44Um, can I give you my transcript of what McCloud said with all that info?
00:14:50So, cause I'm like, we have a little bit more information than the people who are after her.
00:14:55It seems like a lot of people are after my grandma.
00:14:57So maybe we can try to head towards her?
00:15:01Well, I think the way to get to her is to go to the bi-angle.
00:15:06And I think in her information, there is a way for me to calculate where the bi-angle is going to be next.
00:15:13So I can do that.
00:15:15I can try and let us know when the next time I think that the bi-angle is going to pop up.
00:15:20And I can say, how quick do you guys want to go?
00:15:23Does that sound good to everyone?
00:15:25It sounds like, I mean, we have a step on, um, Murdershire.
00:15:29Cause he didn't know, he was asking if, uh, she had found the bi-angle.
00:15:33Yeah.
00:15:34And I gave him some other information when I thought we were still doing diplomacy.
00:15:37You gave him information?
00:15:38I, it was an exchange of information.
00:15:41Certainly not first.
00:15:42What did you get in exchange?
00:15:43That's incredible.
00:15:44What a genius move.
00:15:45What did you get?
00:15:46Um, I got the knowledge that we were going to have to escalate things.
00:15:53Um, and I tried to throw him off, but then wingsuit, which is cheating.
00:15:56We can all agree.
00:15:57Right?
00:15:58Sometimes you gotta cheat.
00:15:59This is not a world where rules always apply.
00:16:01I, I gotta respect it.
00:16:03I respect the rule breaking.
00:16:05Papi and Monty, have either of you seen this writing before?
00:16:08Can we make checks or is it just a full?
00:16:11Go ahead.
00:16:12Anyone that wants to give me an Arcana check.
00:16:14I'll do it.
00:16:15Why not?
00:16:16I am exhausted from my rage thing.
00:16:18I got a 17.
00:16:1917, okay.
00:16:20I got a 19.
00:16:2119.
00:16:22Only a five.
00:16:23Five.
00:16:2418.
00:16:25I hold it up to a flame.
00:16:2617 and 19.
00:16:27Not super close.
00:16:28Um, on a 19, I think that there's no, having never seen this alphabet before, I think that
00:16:37you do take this to not, you do not think this is a cipher.
00:16:42You think that this is actual language, it's just that you don't know the alphabet.
00:16:46So we can figure it out.
00:16:47You can, it's possible to figure it out.
00:16:49And I think on that, on that 19, there's also a degree of you, the alphabet is, it's
00:16:55all Greek to you, no pun intended, but the, the dot, you do believe that those black
00:16:59and white dots do orient the top of the page and make this seem almost like a declaration
00:17:05or a notice of some kind.
00:17:07Got it.
00:17:08Yeah.
00:17:09And there's a rip on the bottom.
00:17:10Yeah.
00:17:11That maybe some other information was there.
00:17:13Is there anything in the mech that has any of...
00:17:18Oh, yes.
00:17:19Is it maybe, maybe even the key, maybe there's a keyhole or something in the mech.
00:17:24It seems like these things are pretty related.
00:17:25Also this bell seems like really specific.
00:17:28Yeah.
00:17:29Yeah.
00:17:30There's a frequency.
00:17:31Yeah.
00:17:32That's what I'm trying to...
00:17:33Oh, there's a frequency.
00:17:34Although we did do the, the frequency might just have been what the message was.
00:17:38Um, when we turned the ring on.
00:17:39Oh, right.
00:17:40What pi omega.
00:17:41So.
00:17:42Um, go ahead and give me, uh, arcana or if you have like a tech or tool proficiency
00:17:49for looking at the sextant again.
00:17:51Okay.
00:17:52I put a hand on your shoulder, look deep in your eye.
00:17:55I'll give you guidance.
00:17:58I like the way you write me better than I do.
00:18:01Yeah.
00:18:02Yeah.
00:18:03Being comprehensive.
00:18:04Add a d4 of guidance to this roll as well.
00:18:06Okay.
00:18:0714 on the die plus four and then using my cartographer or navigators becomes 29.
00:18:1629.
00:18:17Hell yes.
00:18:18Looking at this, you even before, like knowing that somewhere out there, comfrey may be found,
00:18:26sued.
00:18:27You look at this sextant and you can tell a couple things about it.
00:18:31Nox and Neff to you, feel in the way that the sextant is measuring them, very similar to east and west on a standard compass.
00:18:41Meaning that they are directional and never ending.
00:18:46Like if you head west, you can keep heading west and come back around and come back around and come back around and come back around.
00:18:52Vex and Vim, you're like sub Vim parallel.
00:18:55So Vim is absolute.
00:18:57There's something that you can be below it by a certain, it's absolute in a way that Nox and Neff are not absolute.
00:19:03Like equator.
00:19:04Right.
00:19:05Right.
00:19:06But looking at the sextant, on that 29, you're certain that Vim and Vex, while absolute, are not magnetic poles.
00:19:18They are not fixed points.
00:19:20So you're looking at it and you're like, it's like, oh that-
00:19:23Oh, are they the two lines of the effulgent bi-angle?
00:19:26Something strange as it were, it is a foreign physics that you are able to reverse engineer from the sextant.
00:19:32And even in so doing, it's so strange that on a 29, you're like, I know that they are absolute somehow without being fixed points.
00:19:41What that means, I would have to see it to understand it.
00:19:45So essentially, two of the poles-
00:19:47Just move?
00:19:48Have a mind of their own.
00:19:49Yeah.
00:19:50And move around in a dance.
00:19:51Yeah, or that two of the poles somehow manage to be absolute while being not in a fixed place.
00:19:59Okay.
00:20:00Cool.
00:20:01What I want to do is, I want to take all this information, go get a piece of paper, start to do mathematics to try to figure out when are best chances to intercept this bi-angle.
00:20:16Hell yes.
00:20:17This is going to be, once again, a navigator's tools check.
00:20:20And having-
00:20:21Gotch, get me a coffee.
00:20:22Yeah.
00:20:23Gotch.
00:20:26We will.
00:20:27Coffee.
00:20:28Very well.
00:20:30Ghost dog.
00:20:34Ghost dog.
00:20:36You see, ghost dog wakes up, looks around, and goes, and gives a warning bark.
00:20:42He's putting on a pot.
00:20:47You see, he turns around and long nails.
00:20:50Clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack.
00:20:51Ghost dog, go get Bert.
00:20:52Yeah, Bert will make a-
00:20:53Bert will make a-
00:20:54Bert pokes his head out the window and he looks out and says,
00:20:57Stu's on.
00:20:58Oh, are you looking for-
00:21:00Can we get a round of Flat White's for the casting squad?
00:21:03Flat White's.
00:21:04I know lovey likes a heart.
00:21:06Raise your hand if you want heart.
00:21:08Iced Flat White, please.
00:21:09Just a little shot of iced coffee.
00:21:11I want heart.
00:21:12You want-
00:21:13Sorry, I'm saying heart.
00:21:14What did I say?
00:21:15What did I say?
00:21:16Hard?
00:21:17I said heart.
00:21:18Oh, you said iced and then you said heart.
00:21:20I'm talking about the foam heart.
00:21:21I pick him up my scruff.
00:21:22I'm talking about the foam heart.
00:21:24Don't you touch my husband.
00:21:25Don't you bloody touch my husband.
00:21:27You don't talk to me that way.
00:21:28Get your hands off me right now.
00:21:29Get your hands off him.
00:21:30All right.
00:21:31See, he says, thanks, mate.
00:21:34Keep him in line.
00:21:35I can do arts.
00:21:37I can do leaves.
00:21:39What are you talking about?
00:21:41I'll do a heart.
00:21:43Yeah, a heart.
00:21:44Yeah, a heart.
00:21:45Have an art.
00:21:46If you want an art and you have-
00:21:47He's talking about latte art.
00:21:48He's talking about latte art.
00:21:49He's talking about latte art.
00:21:50Can I get a ghost dog hanging out with Kochka?
00:21:53It might be about an hour.
00:21:56I've got time.
00:21:58You see, he says, all right.
00:21:59You see, he whips out a little leather satchel with a bunch of fine metal instruments to draw in the foam heart.
00:22:05Incredible.
00:22:06We have a printer in the knot, but we can freehand it.
00:22:11That's beautiful.
00:22:13Go ahead and give me the roll for this navigation check on trying to find where the bi-angle will be.
00:22:19Okay.
00:22:20You know what?
00:22:24I want to exceed so egregiously.
00:22:28So I'm going-
00:22:29I got 16 plus my cartographers becomes 27 and I'm going to flash of genius myself.
00:22:3632.
00:22:37Can we throw another guidance on there?
00:22:39Yeah, go for it.
00:22:40Throw another guidance on there.
00:22:41Why not?
00:22:42I'll nod at you all day, son.
00:22:45Another two.
00:22:4634.
00:22:47Can I just shoot my gun?
00:22:49I also should mention that we all, after the last battle, we are staying at level six.
00:22:54We're doing epic level six for this campaign.
00:22:56But we got a bunch of epic epiphanies last time and Maria got her capstone 7th level feature at 6th level with flashing genius.
00:23:05That's right.
00:23:06So, on a 34, it is very, very tricky.
00:23:10The next time the bi-angle appears steadily on a timeline of months to years of like, oh my God, the next time it's going to be somewhere reliably is like years from now.
00:23:25But there is a sub-rhythm to this formula.
00:23:30The bi-angle appears in flashes very briefly, much more regularly.
00:23:38Four days from now, it will appear, you believe, for less than 18 seconds in the skies over Eisengeist.
00:23:50Okay.
00:23:51What's everyone doing for 18 seconds four days from now?
00:23:55I'm free.
00:23:57I've got a couple things in the calendar.
00:24:00Could you clear?
00:24:01I think I'm not allowed to come home.
00:24:03I made it clear that I know I've been telling you that I was sponsoring a trip in the gotchas where I actually did this against my father's wishes.
00:24:10But technically, it was my grandfather's wishes to fund things like this.
00:24:15So really, I am still following, you know, my father's orders.
00:24:19That's awesome.
00:24:20All the other times that you did that is the same?
00:24:23Excuse me?
00:24:24Or like all the other times that you went rogue, like it was the same?
00:24:28Yes, it was for my grandfather pretty much, yes.
00:24:30That's so cool.
00:24:31Okay, well.
00:24:32So people will probably come for us too.
00:24:34I think murder sure might have been tipped off by my parents, perhaps.
00:24:38Bozen, looking at the ship and seeing that you are losing regular air from the front balloon pretty wildly after that.
00:24:48Yeah, we have to.
00:24:49Should we go somewhere and get some steel and rebuild the ship?
00:24:54Yeah.
00:24:55Or some coal or whatever?
00:24:56Where is Bonnui on this?
00:24:58Oh, here it is, Bonnui.
00:24:59Can I look in the spyglass to see if there's just a thick cloud we could go kind of idle in?
00:25:06Yeah.
00:25:07And, like, our wounds?
00:25:08As you're heading out of Bonnui, you can probably just, yeah, head up to the sky and go to the clouds up there.
00:25:14Yeah, absolutely.
00:25:15I mean, if we're making an expedition, it makes sense that we'd gear up.
00:25:19Yeah.
00:25:20Supplies, those sorts of things.
00:25:21Yeah, do you have a suggestion of where we should go?
00:25:23Do I have a suggestion of where we should go?
00:25:25Hell yeah!
00:25:26Give me a, call it history or nature.
00:25:29Oh, let's make it nature.
00:25:30Love that.
00:25:33Can I give him the help action?
00:25:35Yeah.
00:25:36Hey, no, you remember?
00:25:37Oh, what was it?
00:25:38We were, oh.
00:25:39Yes.
00:25:40No, exactly.
00:25:41It's the same one I'm thinking of.
00:25:42It's the same one.
00:25:43That's, hey, thanks for the help.
00:25:45Wow.
00:25:46That's a 28.
00:25:4728?
00:25:48Goddamn, these rolls.
00:25:49All right.
00:25:50I mean, truly, on a 28, any place you want to invent in the world of Gath, there are island, like, secret docks and harbors that you had while you were flying with McCloud.
00:26:01We can fix the, can we fix the balloon from the Science Center, or is it called the Science Center?
00:26:06Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:26:07Can we fix the balloon from the Science Center, or does that need to be more specifically repaired?
00:26:11Because if not, I feel like I would look for somewhere halfway between here and Eisengeist.
00:26:16Yeah, I wonder if there's some kind of pirate.
00:26:17Somewhere in Hawkland might be good.
00:26:19Yeah.
00:26:20Mm-hmm.
00:26:21You guys being in Bel Nui right now, in Nyx, yeah, it's a short flight.
00:26:24So, Pilbys to the south, and then you have the Cabillion Isles to the west.
00:26:28The Cabillion Isles, there are, like, six different ports you could mention in the Cabillion Isles that you'd be welcome.
00:26:34That's fun.
00:26:35I was gonna say, wherever we go, it's very important that we all fucking live our lives to the most, because we could die trying to find this unstable portal.
00:26:45Yes.
00:26:46Literally one of my rules for living.
00:26:48Do you have a list of your rules?
00:26:50You still have those rules, Peppy?
00:26:52You still have those rules?
00:26:53I got a couple new ones.
00:26:54Whoa, let me hear the new ones.
00:26:55I moved number three to number one.
00:26:57Okay.
00:26:58And what is it?
00:26:59You guys ready?
00:27:00Yeah.
00:27:01Life is for living.
00:27:02What about the next one?
00:27:05What about the next one?
00:27:06Did you move that to number one?
00:27:07I moved life is for living from three to one.
00:27:10Okay.
00:27:11What did number one?
00:27:12What got downgraded to number two?
00:27:13What's number three if that's number one?
00:27:15Well, number one becomes number three.
00:27:17Are you ready for it?
00:27:18Yeah.
00:27:19When you die, you're dead.
00:27:21Oh, I wasn't ready for it.
00:27:23I wasn't ready for that.
00:27:24Yeah.
00:27:25Number two sunsets are non-negotiable.
00:27:26Yes, they are.
00:27:27That's true, actually.
00:27:29Take me to Charles.
00:27:30All of Pappy's sayings are from, like, wine.
00:27:32Like, wine.
00:27:33Yeah, totally.
00:27:34Pappy, I keep telling you.
00:27:35Wine mom.
00:27:36If you want me to introduce you to my publisher, I will, all right?
00:27:39I don't know.
00:27:40I don't know about all that.
00:27:41The world should know these things.
00:27:42Rule number four.
00:27:43Move your body every day.
00:27:45It is through a lymphatic system.
00:27:47It's true.
00:27:48It's true.
00:27:49Lymph-a-what?
00:27:50Yes, yes.
00:27:51I have a question.
00:27:52We're going to a station?
00:27:53Kameleon Isles?
00:27:54Or, sir?
00:27:55Would I know anything about methane krill?
00:27:58You have no idea what methane krill means, yeah.
00:28:00Another unknown.
00:28:01Wait, was that in the thing?
00:28:03That was in the thing.
00:28:04Oh, but none of us.
00:28:05Oh, sorry.
00:28:06Gaining methane krill.
00:28:07Gaining methane krill.
00:28:09Kameleon Isles?
00:28:10Kameleon Isles.
00:28:11Yeah, can I pop up into my mech suit and do some more searching now that I know kind
00:28:14of what I'm looking for and see if anything, if I recognize similar glyphs?
00:28:19Any of that?
00:28:20The symbols on your dial are much more known to you.
00:28:25You don't see any symbols from there.
00:28:26The ones you all have are all recognizable like pi and omega and things like that.
00:28:30Got it.
00:28:31That does look like a strange alphabet to you.
00:28:33And you rolled an arcana check, right?
00:28:35I did, yeah.
00:28:36Yeah.
00:28:37So I think no one beat a 20 on that arcana.
00:28:38No.
00:28:39So you know that the dots orient to the top of the page, but other than that, you can't
00:28:42quite be sure.
00:28:43Okay.
00:28:44You see that.
00:28:45Wilwell, how's your arcana?
00:28:47Don't make them strain too hard.
00:28:52Don't make them strain too hard.
00:28:53He looks at it.
00:28:55No.
00:28:56It's gonna get wet.
00:28:57Don't be so careful.
00:28:58I'll shoot you.
00:28:59Eat it.
00:29:00Get it.
00:29:01Get it.
00:29:02Get it.
00:29:03Get it.
00:29:04Get it.
00:29:05Look at it.
00:29:06Get it.
00:29:07Yeah, I want to do it.
00:29:08I know what it says, it says, hmmm.
00:29:09No.
00:29:10He goeskritik.
00:29:11It says, the secret to the treasure of Goldbeard's Gold is set to Southituation.
00:29:13Goldbeard's Gold is set to South Island.
00:29:15That's all.
00:29:16We are going to the South Coast guild.
00:29:17Yeah.
00:29:18Goldbeard's gold again.
00:29:20I wasted so much money.
00:29:21Please, let's chase after Goldbeard's gold.
00:29:23It can save our family, Maxwell.
00:29:25If we gather Goldbeard's gold
00:29:27from his hidden cave at the South Pole.
00:29:30We don't know that it's in the South Pole, though.
00:29:33Was that your assignment in the South Pole?
00:29:36What?
00:29:37Maxwell was telling us
00:29:38he was supposed to go to the South Pole.
00:29:40Was it to get Goldbeard's gold?
00:29:41No, it's this.
00:29:41You see, he hands you a document,
00:29:43and you see it's one of the reclaimed deeds
00:29:46from the Gotch family
00:29:48that Wealwell was supposed to go handle.
00:29:50Oh, right.
00:29:52My family went to...
00:29:53So, Professor McLeod leveraged a bunch of her things
00:29:58and belongings and properties to my family
00:30:02when they funded her trips.
00:30:06And my father sent my brothers to repossess them.
00:30:12So, is it related to McLeod, though?
00:30:14Yes, it's like her property.
00:30:16It's all her thing.
00:30:17So, we can go and see what she had.
00:30:18Wait, how many keys are there?
00:30:19Give me investigation.
00:30:20How many wells are there?
00:30:22There's not.
00:30:22Okay.
00:30:23All right.
00:30:23More wells than keys.
00:30:25Investigation?
00:30:26I'm going to add a...
00:30:27I'm going to do studied naturalist
00:30:29and add a savvy guy to this.
00:30:30Hell yeah.
00:30:3314 for me.
00:30:34I mean, there's this little...
00:30:35Dirty 20.
00:30:36Dirty 20.
00:30:37There are six things...
00:30:38On a dirty 20, Monty,
00:30:39you're looking at the things
00:30:40that were requisitioned at this laboratory
00:30:42that McLeod owned.
00:30:43You see a heating unit
00:30:46that's used to keep Gargantium steel
00:30:48at a certain temperature.
00:30:50You see that there are storage silos
00:30:52that were ordered here
00:30:53that you know are only used
00:30:54for, like, large vessel refueling stations.
00:30:57You didn't have an idea
00:30:58about this South Pole station,
00:30:59but you're looking at this
00:31:00and you're like,
00:31:01this is all large infrastructural investments.
00:31:05Stuff we could use?
00:31:06Oh, yeah.
00:31:07Big time.
00:31:07Is there a bar?
00:31:09Is there a bar?
00:31:11Any alcohol listed?
00:31:13Come on.
00:31:14Come on.
00:31:15Come on.
00:31:15Big money.
00:31:15Big money.
00:31:16It's all three.
00:31:17It's just rum.
00:31:19No!
00:31:20No!
00:31:21Yes!
00:31:22There's a bunch of rum.
00:31:23I slap it down in front of everyone.
00:31:26I think we should go.
00:31:27I think we should go.
00:31:27Resources for sure.
00:31:29Maxwell...
00:31:29How many can we hit
00:31:30before the...
00:31:31the...
00:31:31the...
00:31:32We have four...
00:31:33We have four days,
00:31:34so maybe we can hit the...
00:31:35We have four days.
00:31:36...the pole and then...
00:31:37Go there,
00:31:37try to stick this key
00:31:38in everything we see.
00:31:40Yes, I don't know
00:31:41if it's just a coincidence or not,
00:31:42but including the bell,
00:31:44there are six things on this ring
00:31:48and six brothers that my father likes.
00:31:52And six brothers
00:31:52that your father sent out.
00:31:54Sorry, you don't know if that's...
00:31:56Wait.
00:31:56So I am the seventh son.
00:31:58There are six things on here.
00:32:00You're the seventh gotch son?
00:32:02Yes.
00:32:04He's cursed.
00:32:05What?
00:32:05He's cursed, buddy.
00:32:08Everybody knows
00:32:08that the seventh gotch son is cursed.
00:32:10You're supposed to tell us
00:32:11if you're cursed.
00:32:11I'm not cursed.
00:32:14What?
00:32:15Is that...
00:32:15Everybody knows that.
00:32:17Everybody says...
00:32:18Everybody knows that.
00:32:19What do you mean,
00:32:19everybody knows that?
00:32:20All seventh gotch sons are cursed.
00:32:22Everybody knows that.
00:32:23Yeah.
00:32:24Yeah.
00:32:25What?
00:32:26Yeah.
00:32:27I have not heard this.
00:32:28Marshall, you're cursed.
00:32:29What?
00:32:30Everyone knows
00:32:32that the seventh gotch son is cursed.
00:32:34It feels like
00:32:35you're happy
00:32:36to have someone
00:32:37taking heat.
00:32:38No, high five.
00:32:40Everyone knows
00:32:41the seventh gotch son is cursed.
00:32:42In what I'm looking at,
00:32:43if I had to pick one
00:32:44who was cursed,
00:32:45I don't know
00:32:46if I would think it's you.
00:32:48This guy's cursed.
00:32:50You know what?
00:32:51Actually,
00:32:52if this is what
00:32:52the normal gotches are like
00:32:54and this is what
00:32:54the curse gets you,
00:32:55I'm in.
00:32:56This guy's fucking cursed.
00:32:57I can't let you know
00:32:58I'm the only brother
00:32:59you've got left
00:33:00because you know what?
00:33:01Dad's going to be pissed
00:33:02at you too.
00:33:03Why?
00:33:04Because you stole the ship
00:33:05with me.
00:33:06We left together.
00:33:07What?
00:33:07Yeah.
00:33:08I thought you were being solid.
00:33:10Were you just...
00:33:11You were being solid.
00:33:14What is it?
00:33:14You said...
00:33:15You guys were raised
00:33:15in the same house,
00:33:16you're telling me.
00:33:17I think I went to
00:33:18boarding school very young.
00:33:19Everyone's very different.
00:33:20Samwell,
00:33:21very reasonable.
00:33:22Maxwell went to Revington
00:33:24where he's a rowdy
00:33:25who does gentleman fisting.
00:33:26I went to...
00:33:27Where did you go?
00:33:28I went to Biffmore.
00:33:29What do you do?
00:33:30Where I learned...
00:33:31Biffmore is for cowards.
00:33:33I'm going to...
00:33:33Biffmore is where
00:33:34you learn reposed standing.
00:33:37Come here for a second.
00:33:38Napping standing up.
00:33:39Is that what it's about?
00:33:40He's good.
00:33:41He's good.
00:33:41He's damn good.
00:33:42He's damn good.
00:33:44Stay.
00:33:45Stay.
00:33:45He's damn good.
00:33:46Oh my god.
00:33:47You see why I say he's solid?
00:33:49Because he does something weird
00:33:50and then he does something cool.
00:33:51Wewell,
00:33:52come with me for a second.
00:33:53I'm going to go to the side.
00:33:54I'm going to start pushing him off.
00:33:56Happy.
00:33:56Happy.
00:33:57Happy.
00:33:58Happy.
00:33:58Happy.
00:33:58Happy.
00:33:59Happy.
00:33:59We all want him.
00:34:02Well,
00:34:04he's a lot.
00:34:05We got it, right?
00:34:06We got it.
00:34:06I think I know what happened.
00:34:08Your father has a secret extra kid.
00:34:10He's the actual seven.
00:34:11Oh, yeah.
00:34:11That must be it.
00:34:12There's a well.
00:34:13There's a couple well.
00:34:15You're the eighth son.
00:34:16Do you know where your brothers went?
00:34:18Maybe that would be a nice list
00:34:19once we go to this spot.
00:34:20But I remember...
00:34:21Go ahead and give me a history check.
00:34:22Okay.
00:34:22I am exhausted from the fight.
00:34:24I've unbuttoned one button
00:34:26and I'm looking a little bit disheveled.
00:34:27Put a hand on your shoulder.
00:34:31You can add a d4.
00:34:32All right.
00:34:33Wow.
00:34:33She's so good.
00:34:34Rolling with the advantage.
00:34:35She's so good.
00:34:35Okay.
00:34:38Nine and a 10.
00:34:39So not much difference.
00:34:40So a 13 and then a d4.
00:34:42Okay, man.
00:34:44Okay, man.
00:34:45Oh, four.
00:34:47Can I also...
00:34:48I think I'm also...
00:34:49If you're talking history, locations,
00:34:50I want a flash of genius.
00:34:52Okay, cool.
00:34:5217 and then what is your flash of genius?
00:34:54Five.
00:34:54So 22.
00:34:55You remember offhand
00:34:57that the locations
00:34:58that your brothers were headed to
00:34:59were largely within the CIR.
00:35:03So they were in
00:35:03the Confederated Imperial Republic,
00:35:05like a lot of them were in Utmany,
00:35:06some were in Gastonet,
00:35:08and a lot of them were
00:35:08the more recent investments
00:35:11in, for lack of a better word,
00:35:14like Comfrey's kind of crackpot era.
00:35:16You can look around the ship
00:35:17to see if there are any other clues for them,
00:35:20but those places that your brothers
00:35:21would be going to
00:35:22would largely be within
00:35:24Confederated Imperial jurisdiction.
00:35:28The places that were outside of that
00:35:30would have been...
00:35:30The fact that Wheelwell
00:35:32actually was supposed to go
00:35:33to the South Pole is news to you.
00:35:35You thought that that was a whim,
00:35:37but no, he really...
00:35:38You thought he was just talking about that,
00:35:39but he has paperwork
00:35:40being like he needed to go.
00:35:41He needed to go to the South Pole.
00:35:42That's crazy.
00:35:43Okay.
00:35:44And while he's there,
00:35:44he's going to check out that cave.
00:35:46Yes, for sure.
00:35:46He will be hunting Santa's little gold
00:35:48or whatever he pitched.
00:35:51Whatever he pitched.
00:35:52Santa's little gold.
00:35:54Gotta get to Santa's little gold.
00:35:55It's gold.
00:35:56It's gold.
00:35:57It's completely different.
00:35:57Maxwell does believe in Goldbeard's gold,
00:36:00so he does like...
00:36:02Oh, I absolutely believe in Goldbeard's gold.
00:36:03I definitely believe in Goldbeard's gold.
00:36:05And he's just fucked me over
00:36:06sometimes, Jason.
00:36:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:36:08Well, if Goldbeard's gold
00:36:09happens to be there,
00:36:10then we'll find it.
00:36:12Happy's haunted just thinking about
00:36:14when he killed Goldbeard's gold.
00:36:18You've spent his gold already?
00:36:20You have the most insane visual.
00:36:23You're crushing his skull with your hand.
00:36:25Yeah, we cut back.
00:36:27After everything we've been through,
00:36:29Dice Key,
00:36:30you'd kill me here
00:36:32on the deck of this skyship.
00:36:34You were my brother.
00:36:35And now,
00:36:36you're a bother.
00:36:40This happened before anyone here was born.
00:36:47Wow.
00:36:48Lord Bucklesby, are you all right?
00:36:51Did you call me Lord?
00:36:53Yeah, I don't know.
00:36:54Yeah, I'm fine.
00:36:54Why?
00:36:55I was just thinking about how
00:36:56we gotta go to this.
00:37:00I'm just lost.
00:37:01He's right.
00:37:02To the South Pole.
00:37:04To the South Pole
00:37:05and Goldbeard's cave.
00:37:07Perhaps Goldbeard's cave.
00:37:08If we have time.
00:37:09If we have time.
00:37:10If we have time.
00:37:11Might not be anything in there,
00:37:12but yeah, we should check it out.
00:37:13Yes, I think these keys
00:37:14probably aren't
00:37:15gotch business.
00:37:17We're aboutch.
00:37:21So we'll agree.
00:37:22South Pole.
00:37:23South Pole.
00:37:24Yeah.
00:37:24And then maybe
00:37:25if this guy just is left there,
00:37:27then that's...
00:37:28Then yeah,
00:37:29he'd be on his own
00:37:30like kind of side quest.
00:37:30He's got his own journey.
00:37:31We didn't see
00:37:32Wheelwell standing.
00:37:34Was someone else
00:37:34impressed by that?
00:37:35I drew it quite quickly.
00:37:37I did an action.
00:37:38How many years?
00:37:38That's true.
00:37:39That's something to add.
00:37:41We're also still looking
00:37:43for two new crew members,
00:37:44so maybe we shouldn't
00:37:45ditch one.
00:37:46Right.
00:37:46So we have to find three.
00:37:47Okay, can we have
00:37:47an honest conversation?
00:37:49What is Wheelwell
00:37:50contributing to the crew?
00:37:51Well, Wheelwell,
00:37:51will you say Wheelwell's ship?
00:37:54I will say,
00:37:55it's not Wheelwell's ship,
00:37:56it's our ship.
00:37:57Someone could slip in his barf
00:37:58during a battle.
00:38:00Yeah, and that someone
00:38:00could be him.
00:38:01He is also contributing
00:38:03just as much
00:38:04as all of the other...
00:38:06He's taking up
00:38:06all the oxygen on this ship.
00:38:08He's taking a lot of oxygen.
00:38:09He had the documents.
00:38:11That's true.
00:38:11Just for due diligence,
00:38:12can I try all of these keys
00:38:14everywhere all over the ship
00:38:16and also all over the mech suit?
00:38:18Yes.
00:38:18And ring this little bell
00:38:20and everything?
00:38:21So, you know...
00:38:21Okay, so the ship
00:38:22takes off
00:38:23towards the south pole.
00:38:24South pole.
00:38:25You see,
00:38:25Wheelwell goes,
00:38:26to the south pole!
00:38:27On the top pole.
00:38:28Any lollygaggers
00:38:30shall be thrown overboard.
00:38:31Okay, I took everything
00:38:32I said back.
00:38:33That was incredible.
00:38:35Yes?
00:38:35Wheelwell, I'm on your side.
00:38:37I want you to stay here.
00:38:38You've got to walk it back.
00:38:40Walk it back
00:38:41about three paces.
00:38:42All right.
00:38:43No, you cannot ask
00:38:44anyone to two-time it.
00:38:45That is Van's job.
00:38:48Wheelwell,
00:38:49you've got to pull it forward.
00:38:50If you're going to do it,
00:38:51you've got to do it.
00:38:51Walk it back,
00:38:52but pull it forward.
00:38:53Wheelwell, you're walking it back.
00:38:54Wheelwell,
00:38:55he does a front-back split.
00:38:56Side-to-side.
00:38:57Whoa!
00:38:58See, that...
00:38:59This guy is useful.
00:39:01It's useful.
00:39:02You're telling me
00:39:03they have bad classes
00:39:04at Biffmore?
00:39:04I don't think so.
00:39:06Wheelwell,
00:39:06I whisper to Wheelwell's ear.
00:39:08If we're ever alone,
00:39:09I'm going to kill you.
00:39:12It's a promise.
00:39:14The way I stand,
00:39:16you won't be able to hit me.
00:39:17And you see,
00:39:18he gets up.
00:39:19And it slips up.
00:39:21Shoop!
00:39:22And he's awesome.
00:39:23I think that man
00:39:23is mostly banana.
00:39:25What's that?
00:39:26As we travel,
00:39:28I'm going to get this crew
00:39:31in order
00:39:31and we're going to do some drills.
00:39:33Yeah.
00:39:33Pair the balloon
00:39:34at the science center.
00:39:35Can I help?
00:39:36Yes, you can.
00:39:37So go ahead
00:39:37and give me your investigation check.
00:39:39Okay.
00:39:4117 plus 5, 22.
00:39:46You look over the ship
00:39:47and I think that
00:39:48it is an exercise
00:39:50in thoroughness.
00:39:51You really go place to place
00:39:52and these keys are oversized.
00:39:55You are not expecting
00:39:56to find any locks for them,
00:39:57but you do your due diligence.
00:39:59You do not find any locks
00:40:00on board this vessel
00:40:01that those keys work for.
00:40:02And same with mech suit.
00:40:03Same with mech suit.
00:40:04That's correct.
00:40:04Great.
00:40:05And then, yes,
00:40:06doing a little repair.
00:40:07You're going to make
00:40:08an investigation check.
00:40:09The DC for this is 10,
00:40:11so plus 5 is going to be 15.
00:40:1315.
00:40:13So you're making
00:40:14an investigation check,
00:40:15DC 15,
00:40:17and you should be able
00:40:18to do this twice
00:40:19on the voyage.
00:40:21First one,
00:40:23we fix it.
00:40:24Hell yeah.
00:40:25Lathra,
00:40:25have you ever
00:40:26fixed a balloon before?
00:40:28No,
00:40:29but I've
00:40:30smuggled one.
00:40:33Hmm?
00:40:37What?
00:40:39It's our family business.
00:40:40It's a lot of smuggling.
00:40:41Oh, he'll be.
00:40:42Drugs.
00:40:42That sort of thing?
00:40:43Yeah, totally.
00:40:44The second time,
00:40:45I didn't get it.
00:40:47Okay.
00:40:47I am going to actually
00:40:48ask our bosun
00:40:49to make some rolls for us.
00:40:51Absolutely.
00:40:51Number one,
00:40:52can you go ahead
00:40:53and roll 2d4 for me?
00:40:56A one and a three.
00:40:57A one and a three.
00:40:59You have four drams
00:41:02of regular bituminous coal
00:41:04on the ship.
00:41:05Or running low.
00:41:06I'm going to need
00:41:07another roll of 2d4.
00:41:10Two and a two.
00:41:11Actually,
00:41:11roll 2d6 for me
00:41:13instead of 2d4
00:41:13in that second.
00:41:14Okay.
00:41:14A one and a five,
00:41:17so six.
00:41:17Okay.
00:41:18Six drams out of
00:41:19possible 20
00:41:20of arctica iodide.
00:41:22I will say, too,
00:41:23in that first attempt,
00:41:25you use up
00:41:26a dram
00:41:27of arctica iodide.
00:41:29And go ahead
00:41:30and roll 1d8 for me.
00:41:32Seven.
00:41:33Hell yeah.
00:41:33You have seven drams
00:41:36of gargantium steel.
00:41:38Okay.
00:41:38However,
00:41:39one is used up
00:41:41in the repair
00:41:42of that mishap.
00:41:44Go ahead
00:41:44and roll 1d3 for me.
00:41:47Three or two.
00:41:49I got a five.
00:41:50I got a five.
00:41:51Great.
00:41:51So that's three.
00:41:52You have three drams
00:41:53of inertialene,
00:41:54which is not necessarily useful
00:41:56in this exact instant.
00:41:57However,
00:41:58on that second
00:42:00failed attempt,
00:42:01you are going
00:42:02to go through
00:42:03another dram
00:42:04of arctica iodide,
00:42:05which is the material
00:42:06that freezes the air
00:42:07around the balloon
00:42:08to create...
00:42:08So we're down
00:42:09to four arctica iodide.
00:42:11It's down
00:42:11to four arctica iodide.
00:42:12Four arctica iodide
00:42:13and three drams
00:42:15of inertialene
00:42:16and then six steel.
00:42:19And six steel.
00:42:20As part of those repairs,
00:42:21you can also choose
00:42:23to use a dram
00:42:25of gargantium steel
00:42:26to heal some hit point
00:42:27damage to the ship
00:42:28if you would like.
00:42:29We should do that.
00:42:30We're like down
00:42:31to 90-something.
00:42:32And on a success,
00:42:33that's part of the same action.
00:42:34So you can just roll 2d6.
00:42:36Great.
00:42:36So we're down to five steel.
00:42:38Do ships take long rests
00:42:39like humans
00:42:40or are we always actively
00:42:43using resources to heal it?
00:42:45You're always actively
00:42:46using resources to heal it.
00:42:472d6 hit points.
00:42:51Eight.
00:42:52Hell yeah.
00:42:53So you prepare
00:42:53eight hit points of damage
00:42:54to the ship as well.
00:42:55in getting that first balloon
00:42:57patched up.
00:42:57You have five drams
00:42:58of gargantium steel left.
00:43:00So low on resources.
00:43:02Yeah, wow.
00:43:05She might have
00:43:06tritimonious stuff
00:43:09if we're going to some
00:43:11like really amazing hub
00:43:13that McLeod built
00:43:15for her ships.
00:43:16She might have the good stuff.
00:43:18Hell yeah.
00:43:19Flying south,
00:43:20you're investigating
00:43:20through the ship
00:43:21looking for different keys.
00:43:22Max, you're
00:43:23tending to the Gotch
00:43:24family recruits.
00:43:25I think Jackway St.
00:43:27Miles walks up to you,
00:43:28sort of scruffy
00:43:29engineer type.
00:43:30He goes,
00:43:31right there,
00:43:33Mr. Gotch.
00:43:35We're happy to be aboard.
00:43:38Just to sort of understand,
00:43:39because those things
00:43:40have been moving
00:43:40hot and heavy.
00:43:41Are we headed off
00:43:44to the fabled land
00:43:45of Zood?
00:43:46Uh, yes.
00:43:48Yes, we are.
00:43:49Amazing.
00:43:50Would there be a moment
00:43:52stopped by your post office
00:43:53of some kind
00:43:54to let our families
00:43:56and loved ones know
00:43:57that we will be
00:43:57departing this world?
00:44:01We will be stopping somewhere.
00:44:03I'll allow you to make
00:44:03that decision for yourself.
00:44:05It does seem like people
00:44:06are trying to find us
00:44:06and kill us,
00:44:07so your mail might get
00:44:09intercepted.
00:44:10It does seem like that.
00:44:10It does kind of seem
00:44:11like that might happen,
00:44:12but I feel like
00:44:13I can't say no.
00:44:14I understand.
00:44:15You put me in a weird spot,
00:44:17really.
00:44:17I'm sorry.
00:44:18It's all right.
00:44:19No, I'm sorry.
00:44:20I didn't mean to put you
00:44:21in a weird spot.
00:44:21I put you in a weird spot,
00:44:22too, what with the,
00:44:23I'll, you know.
00:44:25Well, you know what?
00:44:26How about we do this?
00:44:28We'll go have
00:44:29a letter-writing party
00:44:30to let our families know
00:44:32that we are seeking a way
00:44:34to blast forth
00:44:36to realms unknown,
00:44:37and if we find a place
00:44:39we'll send them,
00:44:39and if we don't,
00:44:40we won't.
00:44:40Well, think about,
00:44:42look at this legendary crew.
00:44:43This could be,
00:44:44this could be us someday.
00:44:46Right?
00:44:47The Gotch retainers
00:44:48all sort of come over
00:44:49and look out,
00:44:50and you see there's
00:44:50a moment where
00:44:51all of them,
00:44:52their eyes sort of widen.
00:44:54Give me a persuasion check.
00:44:58Ho, ho, ho, not good.
00:45:01Ten.
00:45:02Ten.
00:45:02You see that Norwich,
00:45:04who's normally
00:45:05sort of like the navigator
00:45:06for the rented blimps
00:45:08of the Gotch family,
00:45:09says,
00:45:10there's nothing
00:45:13we have dreamed of
00:45:14more than adventure
00:45:16and taking off
00:45:18to skies unknown.
00:45:21And all of that
00:45:24feeling
00:45:25completely evaporated
00:45:28at that horrifying bloodbath
00:45:29that just happened.
00:45:31Right, yes.
00:45:32That was,
00:45:33it was a lot.
00:45:34Absolutely shocking.
00:45:35Yeah.
00:45:35The realities are so different.
00:45:36I didn't,
00:45:37when I jumped
00:45:38from the ship
00:45:40to the plane,
00:45:41I thought I was,
00:45:41you know,
00:45:42just like,
00:45:42oh, yes,
00:45:43that's just the next move.
00:45:44And then afterwards,
00:45:44I threw up a little bit.
00:45:47You see,
00:45:47Wheelwell goes.
00:45:51No.
00:45:52I just lower
00:45:53Wheelwell's hand.
00:45:56Okay.
00:45:57All right.
00:45:58Solid.
00:45:59Arguably,
00:46:00maybe my favorite brother.
00:46:05I guess,
00:46:05yeah,
00:46:06I'll say,
00:46:06I'll say to the crew,
00:46:08I realize
00:46:10I may have put you
00:46:11in a
00:46:12awkward,
00:46:15dangerous position.
00:46:16I acted a bit rashly
00:46:18back
00:46:19at the Gotch Manor.
00:46:22We weren't actually
00:46:23ordered to take
00:46:26the Zephyr
00:46:26that was
00:46:27Wheelwell lied to you.
00:46:30Give me,
00:46:34give me deception.
00:46:35Give me deception.
00:46:36Wheelwell did like it.
00:46:38Give me,
00:46:39all right.
00:46:40Wheelwell did like it.
00:46:40Give me,
00:46:41all right,
00:46:41give me persuasion again.
00:46:43Okay.
00:46:4719.
00:46:4819.
00:46:49You see you say that,
00:46:50and you see that
00:46:50Captain Daughter just says,
00:46:52Wheelwell lied to you.
00:46:52Do, do, do, do.
00:46:54All right.
00:46:54You see all of them
00:46:55look at Wheelwell.
00:46:56No one killed Wheelwell.
00:46:58No one killed Wheelwell.
00:46:59Wheelwell,
00:46:59Wheelwell,
00:47:00if any of you
00:47:01say the word.
00:47:01Wheelwell and I,
00:47:02Wheelwell and I
00:47:04equally decided
00:47:05to take the Zephyr
00:47:07because,
00:47:08That's very big of you.
00:47:10It's very big of you
00:47:11to say that you both did.
00:47:12I appreciate that.
00:47:14We know.
00:47:14Um, but, um, yes.
00:47:17When we get support,
00:47:19if, if there's anyone
00:47:20who would like to, uh,
00:47:22stay, you're under
00:47:23no obligation
00:47:24because, uh,
00:47:26while I'm following
00:47:27my grandfather's, uh,
00:47:30orders in a way,
00:47:31uh, we're definitely
00:47:32disobeying my father's
00:47:34and I believe he probably
00:47:35technically owns the ship.
00:47:37Very well.
00:47:38Master Gotch.
00:47:39You see, Wheelwell says,
00:47:40all of you
00:47:42will be paid triple
00:47:43overnights
00:47:45and you will be paid
00:47:47for nights
00:47:48that you need to sleep
00:47:49as well.
00:47:51And you see that
00:47:52the crew
00:47:52sort of looks back
00:47:53and forth at each other
00:47:54and you see that
00:47:55one of them says,
00:47:56I'm still going to kill him.
00:47:57I do, I do suspect
00:48:00if we find Zood
00:48:01that everyone will
00:48:02make a lot of money
00:48:03so that, yes.
00:48:05You see that
00:48:05Wheelwell turns to you
00:48:06and says,
00:48:07and beside,
00:48:09the money they make
00:48:10in Zood
00:48:10will let us keep
00:48:11Goldbeard's gold.
00:48:15Yes.
00:48:16Is that why
00:48:16he thinks he's rich?
00:48:18Because the whole family
00:48:20is in, like,
00:48:20financial crisis.
00:48:21He keeps thinking
00:48:22he's rich.
00:48:23It's because he thinks
00:48:24he's already spending
00:48:25the Goldbeard's gold.
00:48:25He has a line in
00:48:26on Goldbeard's gold.
00:48:27All right, yeah.
00:48:28All right, great.
00:48:29I still don't know
00:48:30about that cave,
00:48:31Wheelwell,
00:48:31but I'll trust you.
00:48:33Trust me.
00:48:34Mum's the word,
00:48:35quick's the action.
00:48:36When we land,
00:48:37kill the others.
00:48:38What?
00:48:41It's a joke.
00:48:42Don't talk like that
00:48:43to anyone else.
00:48:44It's a joke.
00:48:45Oh, all right.
00:48:46Up on the balloon,
00:48:47you see there's
00:48:48this massive
00:48:49balloon patch kit.
00:48:51You see there's
00:48:51this huge patch
00:48:52going up
00:48:53as you're using,
00:48:54like, basically
00:48:54a two and a half
00:48:56foot long needle
00:48:56to sew the bullet holes
00:48:58in the balloon shed.
00:48:59And I think,
00:49:00Alessara,
00:49:00you and Monty
00:49:01have, like,
00:49:01a moment up there
00:49:02in the balloons together.
00:49:03Oh, I'm drunk
00:49:05off of how exciting
00:49:06this is.
00:49:07How long did it take you
00:49:09to write
00:49:09Strange Forward,
00:49:10Oh No Plateau?
00:49:11Well,
00:49:12Strange Forward,
00:49:13Oh No Plateau
00:49:14came out quickly.
00:49:15That was, uh,
00:49:16one of the good times.
00:49:19So it came easy
00:49:21to me to put it
00:49:22on the page.
00:49:23Wow, yeah.
00:49:23It's a really
00:49:24positive story.
00:49:25Yes.
00:49:26Well, I think
00:49:27it's important
00:49:28that there are
00:49:29all manner of pesticides
00:49:30that can be used,
00:49:31but there are those
00:49:32that work with
00:49:33the ecological environment
00:49:34in which the natural plants
00:49:36that are being grown,
00:49:37uh, there is a more
00:49:38symbiotic relationship.
00:49:40And when outside
00:49:41pesticides are used,
00:49:43things like the
00:49:44speckled moon bear
00:49:44in the story,
00:49:45they go crazy.
00:49:46Oh, my gosh.
00:49:49Wow, that's so cool.
00:49:50That's so cool.
00:49:51How, um,
00:49:52when did you start
00:49:53reading the books?
00:49:54I mean,
00:49:55I mean,
00:49:56I'm assuming your
00:49:57grandma did.
00:49:57My grandma gave me
00:49:58the first one.
00:50:00Um, she said it was
00:50:01her favorite book
00:50:02at the time.
00:50:03And then I was...
00:50:04Your favorite book?
00:50:05Uh-huh.
00:50:05It had, like,
00:50:06all of her notes in it
00:50:06and stuff, too.
00:50:07Um, and so she loved them,
00:50:09obviously.
00:50:10You know, she's in
00:50:10a bunch of them.
00:50:11But, um,
00:50:12and then, yeah,
00:50:13I was just able to get them.
00:50:14But I had to keep them
00:50:15for my parents
00:50:16because my parents were...
00:50:18Uh, my dad and my grandma
00:50:20don't really get along.
00:50:21You know, he's, like,
00:50:23just kind of a safe guy.
00:50:25You know, so he didn't
00:50:26seem kind of like...
00:50:29They were too, um,
00:50:31rowdy for him.
00:50:32Yeah.
00:50:33How about you
00:50:33and your grandma?
00:50:34Yeah, we...
00:50:35Get along?
00:50:36Yeah, yeah, totally.
00:50:37She's awesome.
00:50:37She's, like...
00:50:38She's just, like,
00:50:39such a cool, sweet,
00:50:42kind, genius.
00:50:44You know?
00:50:45Yeah.
00:50:45Yeah.
00:50:46Yeah.
00:50:47Give me an insight check.
00:50:54It's a five.
00:50:55It's so exciting
00:50:57to be talking to Monty.
00:50:58God, it's so cool.
00:50:59He's so cool.
00:51:01And give me a perception check
00:51:03from Monty.
00:51:03Nineteen.
00:51:08You see the captain's log
00:51:11under Olethris' arm
00:51:13that she saved
00:51:14from the captain's thing.
00:51:15And a memory comes back to you
00:51:17of a night that you had
00:51:19with the other crew members here.
00:51:21The first time that Comfrey
00:51:23really revealed
00:51:25that she was not just
00:51:26engaging in stories about Zood
00:51:29from a kind of fun folklore perspective,
00:51:34but really talking about
00:51:36the idiosyncrasies,
00:51:38the different things
00:51:39that had vanished
00:51:40over the ages of Gath,
00:51:41the fact that it was actually
00:51:43more unreasonable
00:51:44if it didn't exist.
00:51:46And there was a night
00:51:47that you guys all got plastered
00:51:49and talked about
00:51:51if the things that science
00:51:54seemed to indicate were true,
00:51:55if Zood were real,
00:51:57if it actually existed out there,
00:51:59what would have to be true about it.
00:52:01And you used just what you knew
00:52:03about air travel
00:52:04and nature and science
00:52:06and biology
00:52:07to talk about
00:52:08all the different creatures
00:52:09that were there.
00:52:10And you actually sketched out
00:52:12a bunch of the different creatures
00:52:13that you thought
00:52:14were probably from Zood
00:52:15or had originated in Zood.
00:52:17And you just recognized
00:52:18that that's the book
00:52:19that you drew those drawings in.
00:52:21I see that.
00:52:23Of course.
00:52:24Yeah.
00:52:24I want to show you something.
00:52:26I'm going to flip back
00:52:27to those pages.
00:52:28Go ahead
00:52:29and describe for me
00:52:31a creature
00:52:32that you theorized
00:52:33as being from Zood.
00:52:36So this,
00:52:37this is a nocturnal zebra.
00:52:39It's like a zebra
00:52:41or a zebra,
00:52:42depending on
00:52:43if you see it
00:52:44as a Z or a Z.
00:52:44Whenever I'm reading your books,
00:52:46I'm reading zebra
00:52:46because I know
00:52:47that's how you say it.
00:52:48Yeah, I'm a Z guy.
00:52:50So it's a zebra,
00:52:51all black.
00:52:52and the eyes
00:52:54only see at night.
00:52:56Oh, cool.
00:52:58And the hair,
00:53:00much longer
00:53:00than a traditional zebra.
00:53:02Wow.
00:53:02Zebra.
00:53:03Yeah.
00:53:03Sorry, I always...
00:53:04Like a long...
00:53:05You code switch.
00:53:05Well, I was just doing
00:53:07a reading in Hawksmith
00:53:08and they all say Z,
00:53:10not Zed.
00:53:10I think Van
00:53:11and Pappy,
00:53:13if you're seeing
00:53:14to the flying of the ship,
00:53:15you've done your full inventory
00:53:16of how low on supplies
00:53:17you are.
00:53:18Great.
00:53:18I think you both
00:53:19walk by
00:53:20and see
00:53:21at the base
00:53:21of the balloon
00:53:22that Monty
00:53:23is like opening
00:53:25this old captain's log
00:53:26and you guys remember
00:53:27that night as well.
00:53:28Oh, God.
00:53:29I didn't even know
00:53:30that old thing existed.
00:53:32Right?
00:53:33She's got all
00:53:34all the things in here.
00:53:36Now, would you say
00:53:37that they're black
00:53:37with white stripes
00:53:38or white with black stripes?
00:53:40Well, these are just
00:53:40all black.
00:53:41Oh.
00:53:41Black with black stripes?
00:53:43Yes.
00:53:43Did you write this poem?
00:53:45Black with black stripes.
00:53:47Maybe.
00:53:47Zach, what's the concept?
00:53:49Sunsets.
00:53:50Almost as good
00:53:51as sunrises.
00:53:53Let's go out.
00:53:55Do our best.
00:53:56It's not my best.
00:53:56I like sunrises
00:54:00and surprises.
00:54:01Well, I really like
00:54:02the idea of going out
00:54:03and doing our best.
00:54:04I thought that was
00:54:04go out and do our best.
00:54:06Yes, exactly.
00:54:07I'm more of a
00:54:08sentiment versus rhymes
00:54:10kind of poem.
00:54:11My poems don't rhyme
00:54:12because I don't like
00:54:13following rules.
00:54:14That's beautiful.
00:54:16Van, what's one
00:54:17of the things
00:54:18on that night
00:54:18that you theorized
00:54:19would have to be ensued?
00:54:21Oh, that's a
00:54:22really good question.
00:54:23I think that
00:54:24maybe there's a
00:54:26whole society
00:54:29of people
00:54:31who have
00:54:32a completely
00:54:33different set
00:54:34of funky
00:54:36social rules
00:54:37that are very
00:54:37different than ours
00:54:39and they have
00:54:40really interesting hats.
00:54:42Oh.
00:54:43Here's some theories
00:54:44about what the hats
00:54:45could be like.
00:54:45Oh, it's so dangly.
00:54:47It's like one of those
00:54:48deep sea fish.
00:54:49This one is like
00:54:50a question mark
00:54:50but it's on your head.
00:54:51Oh, that's funny.
00:54:52Right?
00:54:53Yeah, and it's like
00:54:53questioning the nature
00:54:55of that swan.
00:54:56That's so cool.
00:54:57Yeah.
00:54:59Oh, so this was just
00:54:59like kind of like
00:55:00a fun sketchbook
00:55:01kind of thing
00:55:02for all of you.
00:55:03Yeah, just sort of
00:55:03theoretical.
00:55:04We used to drink
00:55:05grain alcohol
00:55:05and just dream.
00:55:07Yeah.
00:55:08That's so funny.
00:55:09Coming back
00:55:09from your key expedition,
00:55:11I think, Marja,
00:55:12you come up
00:55:12and see the pages
00:55:13of this night
00:55:14you remember as well.
00:55:15Oh, the nocturnal zebra.
00:55:18Get that shit
00:55:19out of my face.
00:55:20Oh, it's real.
00:55:22We're going to see them.
00:55:23I know.
00:55:23Are any of these
00:55:24your notes, Marja?
00:55:26Yeah, all the numbers.
00:55:28Oh, the kind of...
00:55:29Yeah, adding
00:55:30and all the subtraction
00:55:32and the dividing as well
00:55:33and I think some
00:55:34of the multiplication
00:55:35was bad.
00:55:37Oh, yeah.
00:55:39This one that ends
00:55:40in I don't know.
00:55:42Cool.
00:55:43That's a legitimate
00:55:44mathematical answer.
00:55:45I don't know.
00:55:46Wow.
00:55:47Can I write
00:55:50a little thing
00:55:51in this?
00:55:52I just...
00:55:52I mean, I have my...
00:55:54There is one, actually,
00:55:54that I did contribute.
00:55:56I imagine that
00:55:57there would be a place
00:55:58where all the things
00:55:58that got thrown out
00:56:00and had no use here anymore
00:56:02would go and find use again.
00:56:04Cool.
00:56:05Because in Scrapsylvania
00:56:06we've put so much drudgery
00:56:08into, you know,
00:56:09taming the life
00:56:10that's left
00:56:10in all the trash
00:56:11and so I like to imagine
00:56:14that in the same way
00:56:15that things disappear
00:56:16and go to Zood,
00:56:17maybe some of these trash
00:56:18finds another life
00:56:19there somewhere.
00:56:21Cool.
00:56:22And also new metals.
00:56:24Cool.
00:56:24Not new and new
00:56:25but also...
00:56:26But new metals.
00:56:27Yeah, yeah.
00:56:28So kind of like
00:56:29something other than
00:56:29copper, iron
00:56:30and also bands
00:56:32that rock so fucking...
00:56:33Yeah.
00:56:34Elythra,
00:56:34give me a nature check
00:56:37with advantage.
00:56:38Ooh.
00:56:39And Elythra,
00:56:40I'm gonna put a hand
00:56:41on your shoulder.
00:56:42Yeah.
00:56:42You can add a d4.
00:56:49Okay.
00:56:53Four, okay.
00:56:56That is
00:56:57a 16...
00:57:0119.
00:57:02Nice.
00:57:03A 19.
00:57:04I think,
00:57:05thinking about this
00:57:05like drunken night
00:57:07of sketch
00:57:07that everyone
00:57:08like came up
00:57:10with ideas
00:57:10about what might
00:57:11be there,
00:57:11what zoo might be like,
00:57:12to imagine
00:57:14what there might be
00:57:16beyond the horizon,
00:57:17to think about
00:57:18if there is something
00:57:19that the heart can see
00:57:21and is that a dream?
00:57:23Is that a flight of fancy?
00:57:25And then you just think,
00:57:26well,
00:57:27we've never seen it
00:57:29other than that
00:57:31frequency from comfrey,
00:57:33who's to even say
00:57:33it's real,
00:57:35but if that sextant
00:57:37is right,
00:57:38then there wouldn't
00:57:39be a north or south.
00:57:40And if there wouldn't
00:57:41be a north or south,
00:57:43maybe that would change
00:57:44climate and terrain.
00:57:46Maybe things would get
00:57:47cold or hot
00:57:48in different ways.
00:57:49What would creatures
00:57:50that only live in cold
00:57:51or only live in hot
00:57:52have to evolve
00:57:54if they dealt
00:57:55with climate differently?
00:57:57And I think your mind
00:57:57starts going
00:57:58in that direction.
00:57:59And even though
00:58:00it's imagination,
00:58:01isn't it based
00:58:01in something real?
00:58:04And I think,
00:58:04what's the creature
00:58:05that Alethra imagines
00:58:07might be waiting
00:58:08out there
00:58:08in the fabled land
00:58:09of Zood?
00:58:11Would it be like
00:58:11a polar bear
00:58:12or something like that?
00:58:13Yeah,
00:58:14but how would a polar bear
00:58:15react if it suddenly...
00:58:17Like a naked
00:58:17summer polar bear.
00:58:19A naked summer
00:58:20polar bear.
00:58:21A hairless polar bear.
00:58:22A hairless polar bear.
00:58:24A hairless polar bear.
00:58:25Yeah.
00:58:25What would it have to...
00:58:26What would it have to evolve
00:58:29so that it could survive
00:58:30in a radically different
00:58:31climate if it was
00:58:32totally naked?
00:58:34Sunscreen.
00:58:35Sunscreen, yeah.
00:58:36It secretes some kind
00:58:37of mucus.
00:58:38Yeah.
00:58:38A big, slimy, wet,
00:58:40shaved polar bear.
00:58:40Naked polar bear, yeah.
00:58:42Yeah.
00:58:42Gorgeous.
00:58:43Yeah.
00:58:44I take Alethra
00:58:45and I hand a pen.
00:58:48She grabs the pen
00:58:49and she starts drawing
00:58:51just like a
00:58:54extremely graphic,
00:58:56soaking wet,
00:58:58nude polar bear.
00:59:00You can see everything.
00:59:02Wow, I really like
00:59:03how you've got the...
00:59:04You pull the wetness out.
00:59:06Like where the whiskers are,
00:59:07it's no longer hairy,
00:59:09so it's just skin
00:59:10that's kind of bulging out
00:59:11with whiskers.
00:59:12That's so cool.
00:59:13And they're all dripping.
00:59:14And Max,
00:59:14I think you see this
00:59:15sort of like frivolous,
00:59:17wild, imaginary,
00:59:21wonderful thing.
00:59:22What's going on
00:59:22in Max's heart
00:59:23as you see this wonder
00:59:24of the sky?
00:59:26Maxwell,
00:59:27I think,
00:59:27feels like a surge
00:59:31of curiosity
00:59:32and I think maybe his,
00:59:36I think he's not like
00:59:37a super creative person.
00:59:39Yeah.
00:59:39So I think
00:59:40his excitement
00:59:42is the idea
00:59:44that it could be anything.
00:59:46So he looks at that
00:59:47and he's almost like
00:59:48standing away
00:59:49and he's like,
00:59:49I don't even know
00:59:50what it could be
00:59:51and that's
00:59:52the most exciting thing.
00:59:54You see that
00:59:54Wheelwell looks at you
00:59:55and says,
00:59:57are you thinking
00:59:57what I'm thinking?
01:00:00Probably not.
01:00:01Are you imagining
01:00:02what might be out there?
01:00:05Yeah, I'm trying to.
01:00:07I'm thinking of
01:00:07grandfather
01:00:09and his dreams
01:00:10and...
01:00:11In Zood,
01:00:12if we were to go there
01:00:13to get the brothers
01:00:14and find whatever
01:00:16could be out there,
01:00:18it could be a mouse
01:00:19with big hands.
01:00:22Is that what you
01:00:23were thinking?
01:00:24I was thinking
01:00:24that there could be
01:00:25a mouse
01:00:26with big hands
01:00:27and I put my arm
01:00:28around Wheelwell.
01:00:29He sort of nuzzles
01:00:30his head
01:00:30and pats you
01:00:31on the back.
01:00:32I hear that
01:00:32and I start drawing
01:00:33a mouse
01:00:34with big hands
01:00:36and like red
01:00:37suspenders.
01:00:42Wait,
01:00:43it would be
01:00:43black and white
01:00:45suspenders.
01:00:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:00:47Yellow shoes?
01:00:48No.
01:00:48Black and white.
01:00:49Black and white.
01:00:50It works on a steamboat.
01:00:52Zip up that five feet.
01:00:53Yeah, you see
01:00:54Wheelwell says,
01:00:55when they tell the story
01:00:56of this voyage,
01:00:57they will tell the story
01:00:58of the brothers
01:00:59Wheelwell and Maxwell.
01:01:00We were the main people.
01:01:05And he wanders off
01:01:07towards the galley
01:01:07to get some snacks.
01:01:09He just left
01:01:10with a saying to fire.
01:01:11Aeoli Winnie the Pooh style.
01:01:13He's double dipping.
01:01:14Bird has to keep
01:01:16making more aeoli.
01:01:19That needs to be thrown out.
01:01:20W-w-w on the side
01:01:22of every single one.
01:01:23Lord Murdisher
01:01:24is just like tracking,
01:01:25landing,
01:01:26big splattered aeoli
01:01:27dropped through for miles.
01:01:30Close.
01:01:32You arrive
01:01:33after about 12 hours
01:01:34of travel
01:01:35at the South Pole.
01:01:37Have we taken
01:01:38a short rest?
01:01:39I would say
01:01:39everyone here
01:01:40can take a long rest.
01:01:41Oh my God.
01:01:41Okay, fabulous.
01:01:43Long rest.
01:01:45I get up
01:01:45really early
01:01:46in the morning
01:01:47and I'm doing
01:01:48like an old timey
01:01:49barbell routine
01:01:50where I have it
01:01:51like over my head
01:01:52and I'm just doing squats
01:01:53and making loud noises.
01:01:54Hup, hup, hup, hup.
01:01:55Yes, here we go.
01:01:57Yes.
01:01:57Kind of doing pull-ups
01:01:58on the struts
01:02:01of the ship.
01:02:02Hell yeah.
01:02:02I'm doing old man strutches
01:02:04and just slapping my thighs.
01:02:08Monty's standing
01:02:09at the foremost part
01:02:10of the ship shirtless
01:02:11just taking deep breaths.
01:02:16Everybody working out.
01:02:18I think Mario wakes up
01:02:19and she looks like
01:02:20she had the first
01:02:21good night of sleep
01:02:22in forever.
01:02:23Like a healthy flush.
01:02:24Looks like she gains
01:02:2510 pounds overnight.
01:02:27Like in a healthy way.
01:02:29That's the A.O.
01:02:29Where did you sleep?
01:02:32I slept on the foot
01:02:34of the captain's bed.
01:02:35Wait, that's what
01:02:36I was going to do.
01:02:37And we slept out together.
01:02:39I also slept.
01:02:42I think I just got scared
01:02:43because I've never been
01:02:44away from home before.
01:02:45So I was going to try
01:02:46to sleep somewhere
01:02:47like a cool normal adult
01:02:49and then kind of like
01:02:50go into the captain's quarters
01:02:52and just sleep
01:02:53at the foot of the bed
01:02:54curled up.
01:02:54So I think I go
01:02:55to bed later than you
01:02:56and I go
01:02:57and I'm like,
01:02:57oh, someone's scared.
01:02:58Oh, sorry.
01:02:59And then I just sleep
01:03:00on the floor.
01:03:01Is no one sleeping
01:03:02in the main part
01:03:03of the bed
01:03:03or we're both
01:03:04just sleeping at the foot?
01:03:04My confidence is building
01:03:05but not that high yet.
01:03:07Is anyone sleeping
01:03:07in the main bed?
01:03:08I'm fully in the bed.
01:03:11Dice case in the bed
01:03:12and Marga
01:03:13and Alethra
01:03:15are pressed up
01:03:17against the foot rest.
01:03:19So many people
01:03:20are sleeping in one bed.
01:03:21I have taken like
01:03:22bunks apart
01:03:23to have like
01:03:23a double wide bed.
01:03:24I have like
01:03:25a king sized bed
01:03:26in the normal.
01:03:27Me and Bert
01:03:28are in double hammocks
01:03:29in the crew quarters.
01:03:30Cute.
01:03:32Literally too cute.
01:03:33I'm sleeping
01:03:33under the stars.
01:03:34Yeah, that's awesome.
01:03:36And I think
01:03:36I also like sleep
01:03:38like this sextant
01:03:39is like
01:03:40the first time
01:03:41I felt the euphoria
01:03:42of doing something
01:03:43you're good at
01:03:44in forever.
01:03:45So I just,
01:03:46I have it clutched to me.
01:03:47I sleep with it clutched to me.
01:03:49I have it.
01:03:49I think in the morning
01:03:50I want to like
01:03:50try to sew it in
01:03:51so no one can take it.
01:03:53The next morning
01:03:54waking up
01:03:54you have this
01:03:55wonderful sextant
01:03:57that tells
01:03:58the directions
01:03:59of some other world
01:04:01and arriving
01:04:02very low on fuel
01:04:03and supplies
01:04:04with the ship
01:04:04still pretty damaged.
01:04:05What's the ship's HP at right now?
01:04:07I have it calculated
01:04:08at 103.
01:04:09103.
01:04:09Cool, cool, cool.
01:04:10You arrive
01:04:10at the South Pole.
01:04:11On an open ice flow
01:04:14there is this massive
01:04:16research station
01:04:18that you see
01:04:19has a
01:04:21about like
01:04:22quarter mile long
01:04:24tether
01:04:25that is coming
01:04:26from a central
01:04:27kind of crank
01:04:28or pulley
01:04:29at the top
01:04:30of this research station.
01:04:31The tether
01:04:32like almost like
01:04:33the cable
01:04:33you'd build a bridge with
01:04:34moves out
01:04:36into a shimmering
01:04:37heat field
01:04:38that you recognize
01:04:40that the end
01:04:40of the tether
01:04:41is in this giant
01:04:42magnetic ball
01:04:43that is being held
01:04:45in the magnetic
01:04:46South Pole
01:04:47and that this research station
01:04:49that you can tell
01:04:50as you approach
01:04:50has
01:04:51Comfrey's
01:04:52personal little
01:04:53sort of
01:04:54flag over it
01:04:56is rotating
01:04:57around the magnetic
01:04:58South Pole
01:04:59measuring something
01:05:02here
01:05:03and anchored
01:05:04literally in the
01:05:05magnetism
01:05:05of your world.
01:05:08You can see
01:05:09Looking Van
01:05:10underneath
01:05:10the ice flow
01:05:11that the ice flow
01:05:13is not an ice flow
01:05:14at all.
01:05:14This is actually
01:05:15a ship
01:05:16that has been
01:05:17projecting
01:05:18ice as a belt
01:05:20out around it
01:05:21for flotation
01:05:22and security
01:05:23but it actually
01:05:24the metal part
01:05:25extends way down deep
01:05:26you can sort of
01:05:27see bubbles
01:05:28coming up
01:05:28off the back
01:05:29of the ice
01:05:29as it moves around.
01:05:30The ocean.
01:05:32All right.
01:05:33All right.
01:05:34Give me a little
01:05:35constitution saving throw.
01:05:36Yeah.
01:05:39Just a little one.
01:05:40Just a little one.
01:05:4214.
01:05:44You're good.
01:05:45You feel
01:05:46sort of like
01:05:46squeezing
01:05:47the hand
01:05:49of your prosthesis
01:05:50you hear a little
01:05:51of steam
01:05:53coming off
01:05:53of some
01:05:53of the valves
01:05:54and you look
01:05:55down at some
01:05:56of the dials
01:05:56as they kind
01:05:57of flicker
01:05:58a little bit.
01:06:00It's all right.
01:06:01It's all right.
01:06:02Ship moves
01:06:04towards the station.
01:06:06What do you all do
01:06:06as you approach?
01:06:07You see that the
01:06:09station has
01:06:11not anything
01:06:11like a skyport.
01:06:12It's not expecting
01:06:13enough traffic
01:06:14for that.
01:06:15But you do
01:06:16see that there
01:06:17is sort of
01:06:17a little docking
01:06:19chain up top
01:06:20which normally
01:06:21it's enough space
01:06:22to just land
01:06:23safely.
01:06:24So you're like
01:06:25that's an indication
01:06:26that weather
01:06:26gets rough enough
01:06:27around here
01:06:28that you would
01:06:29need something
01:06:29to like
01:06:30attach the ship
01:06:32a little bit
01:06:32more strongly.
01:06:33Do we have
01:06:34like telescopes
01:06:34or something?
01:06:35Can I try to look
01:06:36around and see
01:06:37if it's inhabited?
01:06:38Go ahead
01:06:38and give me
01:06:38a touch and check.
01:06:40Anyone who wants
01:06:40to ask for you.
01:06:43Almost a nat 20
01:06:44but not quite.
01:06:46That's 20.
01:06:4730, 20?
01:06:4719.
01:06:48Hell yeah.
01:06:48Van, you pop
01:06:49the spyglass up
01:06:50and take a look.
01:06:52Engines underneath
01:06:52moving.
01:06:54I mean the tether
01:06:55is interesting, right?
01:06:56Because the propellers
01:06:57are constantly going
01:06:59but it's tethered
01:07:00to the central point
01:07:01so there doesn't need
01:07:01to be anyone steering,
01:07:02right?
01:07:02It's just moving
01:07:03around a central,
01:07:04it's just circling,
01:07:05right?
01:07:05Got it.
01:07:06You don't see
01:07:06any sign of activity
01:07:08or life.
01:07:09Great.
01:07:09It looks like
01:07:10there's no vehicles here.
01:07:11Do we need to?
01:07:12Well?
01:07:13Is this abandoned?
01:07:14What do you know?
01:07:15Oh yeah,
01:07:16can we check the paper
01:07:17list?
01:07:17Yeah, look at the paper.
01:07:18What should we be expecting
01:07:20from this paper book?
01:07:21This was a fully stocked,
01:07:22so everything on the facility
01:07:23was basically
01:07:24from a financial standpoint.
01:07:27You know,
01:07:28what the investigation check
01:07:28revealed about it
01:07:29was it had all of this
01:07:30industrial stuff here.
01:07:32So it had a lot of like,
01:07:33it had big silos
01:07:34for keeping steel
01:07:35at a certain temperature.
01:07:37It had stuff
01:07:37for storing coal.
01:07:39It has barrels
01:07:40and barrels
01:07:40and barrels of rum,
01:07:41right?
01:07:42Barrels.
01:07:43Yes.
01:07:43Barrels.
01:07:44Do we have any capacity
01:07:46to,
01:07:46is there any capacity
01:07:47in this world
01:07:48to make contact
01:07:49before you dock?
01:07:50There's radio.
01:07:51Yeah.
01:07:51Okay, so yeah,
01:07:52let's hop on the radio.
01:07:53Gotch,
01:07:53I think you would be
01:07:54the person to hop
01:07:54on the radio.
01:07:55All right.
01:07:56You're the voice
01:07:57of authority.
01:07:58I agree with you.
01:07:59Heck yeah.
01:07:59I'm going to say,
01:08:00Maria,
01:08:00you can look down,
01:08:01knowing that it's
01:08:02Comfrey's flag,
01:08:02there's a couple frequencies
01:08:03that she used.
01:08:05So you go through
01:08:07the hailing frequencies.
01:08:09Go ahead and give me
01:08:09a little tool check.
01:08:11Give me a Tinker's tool check.
01:08:13Fifteen.
01:08:14You come through
01:08:16and as you start
01:08:17to move through,
01:08:18you go to her main
01:08:19hailing frequency,
01:08:20go to another one,
01:08:22go to the third one.
01:08:23There's nothing.
01:08:24That last one's
01:08:25a little bit grainy.
01:08:26I think you just tune
01:08:28a little bit down
01:08:29from that one
01:08:30and you just hear
01:08:31cold all day
01:08:36and get those toesies
01:08:37by the fire.
01:08:40This place has been cursed.
01:08:42Everybody run.
01:08:45It just sounds
01:08:46like a record play.
01:08:48Okay.
01:08:50Gotcha.
01:08:50I think something
01:08:51very dark has happened here.
01:08:53Yes, I think that's likely
01:08:54perhaps somebody came
01:08:55to collect before us.
01:08:58I'm going to hold up
01:08:59the sextant,
01:09:00hold up the key,
01:09:01see if there's
01:09:02any interaction.
01:09:03Go ahead
01:09:04and give me
01:09:05one more Tinker's tool check.
01:09:07Come on.
01:09:09Funty nine.
01:09:11You see all of the keys
01:09:14bend up
01:09:15and start pointing
01:09:16at the pole
01:09:17just slightly.
01:09:19Okay.
01:09:20Okay.
01:09:20I get in the mech suit.
01:09:23Hell yeah.
01:09:24I'm going to just
01:09:25quickly magical tinkering
01:09:27this sextant
01:09:27to look like it's a toy
01:09:29from the bottom
01:09:30of like a cereal box.
01:09:32Hell yeah.
01:09:32I'll even make it
01:09:33emit an odor
01:09:34of cereal.
01:09:36Okay.
01:09:36And then just like
01:09:37put writing on it
01:09:38so it looks like
01:09:39it's just a children's toy.
01:09:40You slap it
01:09:41into this strange
01:09:42little like copperhead,
01:09:44like Bob's Big Boy
01:09:45looking doll
01:09:46and just smells
01:09:47so much like Applejack's.
01:09:48I love wrap,
01:09:49grapple, and zip.
01:09:51Wrap, grapple, and zip.
01:09:53Wrap, grapple, and zip.
01:09:54Yeah.
01:09:55The question is
01:09:56do you go and dock
01:09:58at the station?
01:09:59Can we
01:10:00park above
01:10:02and lay down?
01:10:03Dingy down.
01:10:04You guys have the lifeboats.
01:10:05Yeah.
01:10:05You have the dinghies.
01:10:06Let's take a leg.
01:10:06I think we take dinghies
01:10:07for this.
01:10:08Yes.
01:10:09Okay.
01:10:09You guys get,
01:10:10so the lifeboats
01:10:10on either side of the Zephyr,
01:10:12you guys pile into one.
01:10:13You would need to take two
01:10:15if you're taking the mech.
