A total of 220 foreigners were detained for various offences during an integrated operation by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and Selangor Immigration Department at Pusat Komersial Dataran Otomobil, Section 15, covered 89 premises on Tuesday (July 22).
Five businesses were ordered to close and given 14 days to rectify issues, including operating without valid licences, selling live animals, and being run by foreigners.
Shah Alam mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said some local licence holders had rented out their permits to foreigners, and such licences would be revoked immediately.
