00:00Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim delivered his highly anticipated extraordinary tribute

00:10announcement to all Malaysians on Wednesday morning. The announcement included plans to

00:15lower petrol prices for citizens and provide cash handouts to help people deal with rising

00:21living costs. In celebration of Merdeka Day on August 31st, all Malaysians aged 18 and above

00:29will receive a one-off payment of RM100 through their MyCard under the Sumbangan Asas Rahma or SARA

00:36program. This initiative will benefit 22 million Malaysians. Anwar also announced an additional

00:42public holiday to allow Malaysians to enjoy a long weekend from September 13th to Malaysia Day on

00:49September 16th. The government will double the Jualan Rahma Madani initiative's allocation from

00:55300 million ringgit to 600 million ringgit to help the public manage rising living costs.

01:02The enhanced program will also expand its product range, offering Malaysians a wider variety of

01:08essential goods to choose from. Over 500 million ringgit in compensation costs will be covered by

01:14the government. The government will reduce Ron 95 petrol prices to 1 ringgit and 99 cents per litre for

01:21Malaysian citizens, while non-Malaysians will continue paying market rates. More than 4,000

01:27government doctor positions, including contract medical officers, will be made available this year

01:33to strengthen the health care system. The ringgit has emerged as one of Asia's best performing

01:38currencies, strengthening by over 5% against the US dollar to ringgit 4.23 this year.
