A seven-year-old boy, who was fighting for his life at Melaka Hospital after nearly drowning in a swimming pool at an apartment in Taman Kota Laksamana last Sunday, has passed away.

State health, human resources and unity committee chairman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem said the body of the youngest of two siblings was handed over to the family at 12.05 PM on Tuesday (July 22), Sinar Harian reported.

00:44Commissioner Christopher Patit, said his family later realized that the child was not in the pool.
00:50While searching for him, they found several members of the public pulling the victim out
00:54of the pool. A rescue team provided initial resuscitation before transporting him to the
01:00pediatric intensive care unit at Malacca Hospital.
