Malaysia’s rich and diverse mix of ethnicities makes it an ideal destination for foreign tourists seeking a unique and multifaceted travel experience, says Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin.
He said Malaysia’s ability to speak several major languages and its status as one of the safest countries in South-East Asia are among the key factors that will attract visitors during Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

00:30And indeed, we have planned for many things, many events, and also many initiatives for next year.
00:41And I would say that definitely there will be some ceremony to have a so-called official launching for busy Malaysia year.
00:51In September, we will be having an official launching by PM in Malacca in conjunction with World Tourism Day.
00:59First of all, I would say that we have law. We have all sorts of laws relevant to tourism sector.
01:08And then, MORTEC, the Ministry at all the hubs, ensure that only the license are provided to provide the services to the tourists.
01:23And definitely, it will be the matter or subject matter of enforcement.
01:27And we will say that we have the enforcement team to make sure that like the board services, all kinds of services will be licensed from the Ministry.
01:39And also, we did cooperation from the associations to ensure that their members to comply with all the laws and regulations.
01:50To welcome visit Malaysia year, definitely now we are going heavily to promote Malaysia in overseas and also even online or offline.
02:00We did a lot of road shows and participated in a series of exhibitions and sales missions in overseas to create awareness among the international tourists about our campaign to visit Malaysia year.
02:15And definitely, we have also collaborated with all the private sectors to organize some exciting events or activities programs in next year to welcome our tourists.
