00:00There is a tragic irony sweeping across the modern church.
00:03The very institution designed to uphold the truth has, in many places, become a platform for lies.
00:12We are witnessing a generation where pulpits no longer thunder with biblical conviction,
00:17but tremble under the pressure of public opinion.
00:21The church, once a fortress of truth and holiness, has become, in some quarters, a mouthpiece for the enemy.
00:28What happens when the church no longer functions as the pillar and support of the truth, but as a tool of deception?
00:38What happens when shepherds become wolves and discernment is traded for blind tolerance?
00:44The answer is not just decline, it's destruction from within.
00:49This is not a new threat.
00:51From the earliest days of the New Testament, the apostles warned of false teachers,
00:57of those who would come dressed in sheep's clothing, yet inwardly were ravenous wolves.
01:02But today, those wolves are not only welcomed, they are celebrated.
01:08This message is not a rebuke of the true church, but a call to awaken, to watch, and to stand.
01:13The time has come to sound the alarm.
01:15The church must be the church again, or it will become the enemy's most effective weapon.
01:21False teachers within the church, it was a quiet Sunday morning in a well-respected suburban church.
01:27The sanctuary was full.
01:29The choir sang with passion.
01:32The congregation smiled politely.
01:34And the pastor stood to deliver what many believed would be another heartwarming, encouraging message.
01:40But something was different.
01:43There was no scripture reading.
01:45There was no exposition.
01:47Just a string of motivational quotes and a few verses pulled out of context, sprinkled over a feel.
01:54Good speech about self, love, and chasing your dreams.
01:58You see, this is the reality in many pulpits today.
02:03It's subtle, even attractive.
02:05The preacher doesn't deny God.
02:08He speaks of Jesus, but not the Jesus of Scripture.
02:13He avoids words like sin, judgment, repentance.
02:18He talks about blessing, breakthrough, and your best life now.
02:22In the tragedy, thousands follow him blindly.
02:27Paul warned Timothy of this very danger.
02:30For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires.
02:35They will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables.
02:40To Tim.
02:414. 3-4 false teachers don't wear name tags that say heretic.
02:47They often stand behind pulpits, carry Bibles, and smile kindly.
02:52But they twist the truth.
02:54They market the gospel like a product.
02:56They use spiritual, sounding words to build empires, not to feed sheep.
03:01When Satan wanted to deceive Eve, he didn't come with fire and horns.
03:07He came with a question.
03:09Did God really say?
03:11That's his strategy still, to question, distort, and undermine God's word from the inside.
03:19This isn't just bad theology.
03:22It's spiritual warfare.
03:24When a preacher distorts the gospel, souls are lost.
03:28When the church embraces them, Satan rejoices.
03:33And when we remain silent, we become complicit.
03:37The early church contended fiercely against heresy.
03:40The apostles named names.
03:42They warned believers.
03:43Today, we're told not to judge, to stay in our lane, to just love.
03:48But friend, love warns.
03:50Love speaks truth.
03:52And a true shepherd guards the flock.
03:55False teachers are not just wrong.
03:57They're dangerous.
03:59And unless we return to scripture, test every spirit, and uphold the authority of God's word,
04:05the church will continue to be infiltrated by men who preach in the name of Christ,
04:10but serve the purposes of the enemy.
04:13Compromise replaces conviction years ago.
04:16A pastor stood before his growing congregation and faced a crossroads.
04:22Cultural pressures were mounting.
04:23Political agendas were invading the pews.
04:27The media was watching.
04:29He had a choice.
04:31Speak boldly from the word of God and risk losing people or soften the message to remain popular.
04:39He chose the latter.
04:40He began preaching shorter sermons.
04:43The cross faded from the center of his message.
04:46Sin became a problematic term.
04:50Hell was too harsh.
04:51Repentance was seen as judgmental.
04:54Instead, he began using words like inclusion, acceptance, personal journey, and his church grew,
05:01but it did not grow in holiness.
05:03It did not grow in truth.
05:05It grew in compromise.
05:06This is the path many churches have taken, trading conviction for compromise in the name of cultural relevance.
05:15But what does Scripture say?
05:18Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
05:24Romans 12
05:25Two
05:26The church was never called to blend in.
05:29We were called to stand out.
05:31Light is meant to shine in darkness, not dim to avoid offense.
05:37Yet today, entire denominations are shifting their theology to please society.
05:43They rewrite doctrine to match social trends.
05:47They reinterpret Scripture through the lens of human experience rather than divine revelation.
05:53The fear of man has become stronger than the fear of God.
05:58But when the church tries to please the world, it ceases to be the church.
06:03Jesus didn't die to make us popular.
06:06He died to make us holy.
06:08The gospel isn't meant to be palatable.
06:11It's meant to be powerful.
06:12It confronts sin.
06:15It demands surrender.
06:16It calls for obedience.
06:19Daniel stood firm in Babylon.
06:21Elijah stood alone on Mount Carmel.
06:24The apostles were imprisoned and martyred.
06:27They didn't compromise to stay relevant.
06:30They declared truth at great cost.
06:33And here we are, in an age where churches are applauded not for their faithfulness,
06:39but for their flexibility.
06:40For how well they affirm culture instead of confronting it.
06:44But remember this.
06:46Compromise never leads to revival.
06:49It leads to ruin.
06:50Conviction, grounded in Scripture, is what God honors.
06:54So, church, we must choose.
06:56Will we seek the approval of man or the approval of God?
07:00Because we cannot serve both.
07:03And when conviction is lost, the church becomes just another echo of a dying world.
07:09No longer salt.
07:11No longer light.
07:12No longer distinct.
07:13The erosion of sound doctrine, a young man walked into a church in search of truth.
07:19He had questions, deep questions, about sin, salvation, eternity.
07:25He was burdened by guilt, hungry for hope, desperate for something real.
07:30The music was lively, the welcome was warm, and the pastor smiled as he stepped up to speak.
07:38But as the minutes passed, the sermon offered little more than vague encouragement and polished positivity.
07:45The cross was never mentioned.
07:48The resurrection never proclaimed.
07:50Scripture was lightly quoted, not taught.
07:52Jesus was reduced to a life coach, not the Lord of glory, that young man walked out more confused than when he entered.
08:01This is the slow, tragic erosion of sound doctrine.
08:05It's not always loud.
08:07It's not always intentional.
08:09But it is always dangerous.
08:11Paul charged Timothy,
08:13Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season.
08:17Reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
08:21For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.
08:262 Timothy 4, 2-3 were living in that time.
08:31In today's church, doctrine has become a dirty word.
08:35Theology is seen as divisive.
08:37Discernment is mistaken for criticism.
08:40People don't want to be challenged.
08:42They want to be entertained.
08:43Sermons are designed to spark emotion, not repentance.
08:47Churches are filled, yet spiritually empty.
08:50Why? Because many pulpits have abandoned their calling.
08:54Instead of feeding the flock the meat of God's word, they serve up spiritual junk food.
08:59Sweet but shallow.
09:01And over time, just like malnourished bodies, malnourished souls become weak, sick, and unable to discern truth from error.
09:08Satan knows this well.
09:10He doesn't need to remove the Bible.
09:12He just needs to distort it.
09:13He whispers through the mouths of polished speakers who downplay sin, deny judgment, and elevate man.
09:20And the people love it so.
09:21But doctrine matters.
09:23Truth matters.
09:24What you believe shapes how you live and where you spend eternity.
09:27The early church was devoted to the apostles teaching Acts 2, 42.
09:33They didn't gather for preferences, politics, or popularity.
09:37They gathered for truth.
09:39Friends, we are not at liberty to reinvent the gospel to make it less offensive.
09:44We are not called to adapt scripture to fit society.
09:48We are called to hold fast the pattern of sound words to Tim, 1, 13.
09:55A church that loses sound doctrine is a church that will lose everything else.
10:00Because without truth, there is no transformation.
10:04Without doctrine, there is no direction.
10:07Without the gospel, there is no grace.
10:09And when sound doctrine erodes, Satan finds a pulpit.
10:14Satan's strategy, infiltration, not just opposition years ago.
10:19A faithful missionary labored in a distant village.
10:23He preached Christ, trained local leaders, and helped plant a small, vibrant church.
10:30For years, that church stood as a beacon of light in a land of darkness.
10:35Then came a new teacher, charming, eloquent, well-dressed.
10:40He spoke of Jesus, but not the Jesus of scripture.
10:45He added visions, dreams, and extra revelations.
10:49He sowed subtle doubts about the Bible.
10:52He didn't attack truth.
10:53He redefined it.
10:55And soon, that once-faithful church began to unravel.
10:58You see, Satan rarely walks through the front door swinging a sword.
11:02He sneaks through the side door with a smile and a Bible in hand.
11:07For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
11:15And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
11:202 Corinthians 11
11:22He doesn't need to destroy a church from the outside when he can direct it from the inside.
11:46Consider Judas.
11:47He was not an outsider.
11:49He walked with Christ, heard his sermons, performed miracles.
11:54Yet Satan entered him, and he betrayed the Son of God from within the inner circle.
12:00Likewise, today, many churches unknowingly serve the purposes of hell.
12:06Not because they openly deny Christ, but because they subtly distort him.
12:11They preach a crossless Christianity, a bloodless gospel, a Christ without lordship.
12:19It sounds spiritual.
12:21It looks sincere.
12:22But it leads souls to destruction.
12:25This is the brilliance and horror of Satan's strategy, infiltration.
12:32He knows that if he can plant one wolf among ten sheep, he can poison the whole pasture.
12:39If he can get one false idea into the pulpit, it will echo through the pews.
12:44He doesn't need to make the church evil.
12:46He just needs to make it ineffective.
12:49That's why Peter warned, there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce
12:53destructive heresies.
12:552 Peter 2
12:571 secretly
12:58Subtly, silently, so what must we do?
13:02We must be watchmen on the wall.
13:04We must test every spirit, 1 John 4
13:081
13:09We must know the word so well that we can smell a counterfeit from a mile away.
13:15The church must not be naive.
13:18Satan is not sleeping.
13:20He's scheming.
13:21And when the church falls asleep at the gate, the enemy walks right in and takes the pulpit.
13:26The remnant must stand firm.
13:28There once was a prophet named Micaiah.
13:30While 400 prophets stood before King Ahab, proclaiming victory and favor, Micaiah stood alone.
13:38He spoke what God actually said, not what the king wanted to hear.
13:43And for that, he was slapped, mocked, and thrown into prison 1 Kings 22.
13:48But he stood firm.
13:50Why?
13:50Because truth isn't determined by majority.
13:53It is determined by the unchanging word of God.
13:57And often, throughout history, God's true people have been the few.
14:02The remnant.
14:03We're living in a time when the visible church is broad, flashy, and applauded by the world.
14:09But within that crowd, there remains a faithful remnant.
14:13They may not be the loudest or the most celebrated, but they are anchored.
14:18They hunger for truth.
14:19They tremble at God's word.
14:21They refuse to call darkness light and light darkness.
14:25Jesus spoke of them.
14:27Enter through the narrow gate.
14:28The way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.
14:33Matthew 7, 13-14.
14:36The remnant doesn't follow trends.
14:38They follow truth.
14:40They are not swayed by cultural pressure, social media noise, or the compromise of peers.
14:45They remain rooted in scripture, even when it costs them popularity, relationships, or comfort.
14:52Think of Noah.
14:53While the world mocked, he built an ark.
14:55Think of Jeremiah, weeping over a rebellious nation.
14:59Think of Paul, beaten and imprisoned, yet unshaken.
15:02These were not spiritual celebrities.
15:05They were spiritual soldiers.
15:07Today, we need Micaiah's again.
15:09Men and women who will say, as the Lord lives, what the Lord says to me, that I will speak.
15:151 Kings 22, 14.
15:18We need pastors who will preach the full counsel of God.
15:22Parents who will disciple their children in truth.
15:25Young believers who will stand in the classroom, the workplace, the family gathering, and not flinch.
15:32The remnant may be small, but they are never alone.
15:36God always preserves for himself those who will not bow to Paul Romans 11, 4.
15:43So if you feel isolated in your convictions, take heart.
15:46If you're burdened by the drift of the church, press on.
15:50God's remnant has always stood in the minority.
15:54But they stand with God, and that, beloved, is more than enough.
15:58Hold the line, love the truth, stand firm.
16:02Let's pray.
