00:00For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles
00:05of Christ.
00:06No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
00:122 Corinthians 11, 13, 14.
00:14We live in an age of staggering religious confusion.
00:18Denominations proudly wave the banner of Christ while quietly laying down the sword of the
00:23Spirit.
00:24They preach Jesus, but not the Jesus of the Scriptures.
00:29They speak of grace, but strip it of its holiness.
00:33They promote love, but redefine it apart from truth.
00:37And in doing so, they unwittingly serve the very enemy of the cross.
00:41What's most dangerous about these denominations is not their open hostility, it's their subtlety.
00:47They dress in the language of Christianity, but beneath the surface lies a theology that
00:53is not of God.
00:55This is not merely theological drift, it is spiritual war.
00:59Beloved, we must be clear, not every church that names Christ belongs to Him.
01:05Not every sermon from a pulpit exalts Him.
01:08And not every leader who quotes the Bible rightly divides it.
01:11The enemy does his best work inside the church, not outside of it.
01:16It's time to expose the darkness cloaked in light.
01:20Let's begin.
01:21One, doctrinal clarity versus doctrinal compromise.
01:25Truth is not up for negotiation.
01:28In 1 Timothy 4.1, Paul writes, the Spirit explicitly says that in later times, some will fall away
01:35from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.
01:41The danger here is not paganism outside the church, but heresy inside of it.
01:48When a denomination claims to follow Christ but departs from sound doctrine, it doesn't
01:54merely mislead.
01:56It becomes a servant of Satan's agenda.
01:59Doctrinal clarity is not optional.
02:01It is the foundation of the true church.
02:05When a denomination begins to compromise core truths, such as the deity of Christ, the sufficiency
02:11of Scripture, justification by faith alone, or the reality of sin and hell, it no longer
02:18proclaims the biblical gospel.
02:20Instead, it offers a diluted message that appeals to man's ego, not his eternal soul.
02:27Modern movements have replaced biblical preaching with motivational speeches.
02:32They've swapped reverence for entertainment, traded repentance for relevance.
02:37But the Word of God is not subject to cultural trends.
02:41Galatians 1.8 makes it plain, but even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you
02:47a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed.
02:53A church that obscures the truth for the sake of tolerance does not love people.
02:57It deceives them, and that deception has eternal consequences.
03:02Doctrinal compromise is not unity, it's treachery.
03:06The church must stand firm on every word of Scripture because God does not change and neither
03:12does His truth.
03:132.
03:14The danger of cultural Christianity when the church reflects the world.
03:19Romans 12 to 2 commands, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing
03:25of your mind.
03:27Yet many denominations today have embraced cultural Christianity, a version of faith that reflects
03:33the world more than the Word.
03:36Instead of calling sinners to repentance, they affirm them in their sin.
03:42Instead of proclaiming the exclusivity of Christ, they offer spiritual pluralism.
03:47These churches are not confronting the darkness, they're hosting it.
03:52Spiritual Christianity prioritizes popularity over purity, emotion over exposition, and tolerance
03:59over truth.
04:01It redefines sin as personal preference and reduces salvation to self-fulfillment.
04:07But Christ did not come to make us feel better, He came to make us holy.
04:12Many denominations today champion social justice while neglecting eternal justice.
04:19They advocate for change in the world while ignoring the need for transformation in the
04:24heart.
04:25This is not gospel ministry.
04:27It's moral activism in Christian clothing.
04:30Jesus said, My kingdom is not of this world, John 18.36.
04:36So why are churches trying so hard to belong to it?
04:39The church's mission is not to be liked by the culture, but to be light in the culture.
04:45And when a denomination chooses cultural relevance over biblical faithfulness, it no longer serves
04:51Christ.
04:52It serves the God of this age.
04:54Three, false teachers masquerading as shepherds, wolves in the pulpit.
05:00In Matthew 7.15, Jesus warned, Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing,
05:07but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
05:10He wasn't speaking to pagans.
05:11He was warning His own followers about leaders who would appear righteous, speak convincingly,
05:18and even use Scripture to deceive.
05:20False teachers rarely deny Christ outright.
05:24They distort Him.
05:25They preach a gospel of self-esteem, a Jesus who functions more like a life coach than the
05:31sovereign Lord.
05:33They twist the Scriptures to accommodate fleshly desires and cultural trends.
05:382 Peter 2.1 says, There will also be false teachers among you who will secretly introduce
05:44destructive heresies.
05:46Notice the word secretly.
05:48These aren't flamboyant enemies of the gospel.
05:51They are insiders.
05:53They gain trust, use Christian language, and then slowly erode biblical truth.
06:00These men fill stadiums and best-selling bookshelves.
06:03They tell people what they want to hear, peace, peace, when there is no peace, Jeremiah 6.14.
06:11They build their empires on half-truths and emotional manipulation, but their end is destruction,
06:19and their message leads others there.
06:21Churches must test every teacher by Scripture.
06:24Charisma is not a substitute for sound doctrine.
06:27A gifted speaker can still be a servant of darkness.
06:31Just because a man stands behind a pulpit does not mean he stands for Christ.
06:364.
06:37Testing all things by Scripture, alone the authority of the Word.
06:43The hallmark of a true church is its unwavering submission to the Word of God.
06:492 Timothy 3.16.17 declares that, All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching,
06:56for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
07:01It is sufficient, not just helpful.
07:04Many denominations today have traded Sola Scriptura for Sola Cultura.
07:10They interpret the Bible through the lens of modern philosophy, psychological theory,
07:16or political activism.
07:18They preach messages about self-help, not sanctification.
07:23But Scripture is not a supplement to our ideas.
07:25It is the final authority over all doctrine and practice.
07:30Every revival in church history began with a return to the Word.
07:35Every apostasy began with its neglect.
07:38The Bereans were commended because they searched the Scriptures daily to test Paul's teaching,
07:44Acts 17.11.
07:46If Paul's teaching needed testing, so does every sermon today.
07:51Versus must not rely on emotion, tradition, or majority opinion.
07:55Truth is not democratic, it is divine.
07:57God does not stutter.
07:59His Word is clear, sufficient, and binding.
08:02If a denomination rejects or reinterprets Scripture to fit the spirit of the age, it has already
08:08denied Christ's Lordship.
08:10The question is simple, does the Bible govern the church or does the church govern the Bible?
08:16Five, the call to biblical discernment and separation come out from among them.
08:38Present is not suspicion, it's wisdom, it is not divisiveness, it's obedience.
08:44Ephesians 5.11 says, do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead
08:50even expose them.
08:53Silence in the face of heresy is complicity.
08:56Fellowship with error is not love, it's betrayal.
09:00There comes a time when staying in a compromised church or denomination is not an act of reform,
09:06it's an act of rebellion against God's Word.
09:09If the leadership refuses to submit to Scripture, the people of God must not submit to that leadership.
09:30Discernment must be coupled with courage.
09:32Many fear man more than they fear God.
09:35But judgment begins in the house of God, 1 Peter 4.17, and we will all give an account
09:41for what we tolerated in the name of unity.
09:48Animals of authority works into this.
