00:00We're going to take a look at the field here for Saturday's ninth race at Del Mar.
00:05Figured that thought process would be the horse to beat.
00:08And I think we actually have a replay of thought process, the number five last time he ran.
00:13And what is so impressive and I think why he's going to be really tough in here, Angela, he was winning this race after not having a race since November.
00:22So he was off like seven months by the time this race came and he's winning so impressively that you feel like second start back after that long layoff.
00:32He should be even better coming up this weekend.
00:35And I keep saying he and it's a she, this three-year-old filly.
00:38So apologies to thought process.
00:41But this three-year-old filly and all these fillies, yeah, she probably doesn't really care.
00:45But she definitely is the one to beat in here.
00:47And even one extra thing, she's fast, but she can sit off a little bit if one or two other horses go.
00:53So she's not this one-dimensional horse.
00:56And what a picture-perfect time for that race to come about and for her to run like that.
01:00Because every other horse in here has not run in a long time.
01:04I mean, they're all coming in with a little bit of rust on them.
01:06She is coming in in the exact opposite fashion.
01:09And she's got a little something to run at.
01:11You know, she hadn't been the horse that led the way all the time.
01:14It was just like you and I talk about ad nauseum.
01:17If you've got the best horse, put him on the front end.
01:19And that's what they've done with her.
01:20And she's won.
01:21But I think that she'll have jungle peace to run at.
01:24Anybody else that wants to go and try to steal the race on the front end is going to have to deal with her if she runs.
01:29And if they don't, they have to deal with thought process.
01:31So she can beat you in a number of ways.
01:33It looks like she's razor sharp.
01:35She drew very well.
01:36Hector Berrios knows her like the back of his hand.
01:38And she'll be a very short price in the process.
01:41But she's a fun horse to watch run.
01:44And I can't wait to see where she'll take it when she leaves California again.
01:47We have a replay of an important race when you're handicapping this race because it's the honeymoon.
01:54And there are four horses in here that come out of that honeymoon race.
01:57Actually, the top four finishers were all in there.
02:00The three, Me So Fancy, finished second.
02:04As Catch Can, the four was fourth.
02:06We also see Jungle Peace in there and Frenzy Flavor.
02:11And, Angela, they were only separated by a length.
02:13So when you have a field like this and horses are really close, it's kind of tricky to kind of pick one out of them because they all had different types of trips.
02:21You could probably make cases for all of them in different ways.
02:25I did think the horse who won that race, Frenzy Flavor, was pretty impressive in that race because it had to go really, really wide in a small field.
02:33What did you take out of that, and do you like any of the horses out of that race?
02:37Well, and as you know, it's not easy to close on that turf course all the time, especially with that kind of trip.
02:42But she overcame all of that, and I do give her credit.
02:44I don't love races where horses finish as packs.
02:48It doesn't really point out anybody as quality or lack of quality.
02:53Just everybody kind of ran the same race, and that's not what I'm looking for.
02:57I'm looking for somebody taking a step forward, standing out.
03:00Otherwise, you get a very even board, but then you have to start playing the guessing game.
03:05And rather than doing that and seeing if somebody would get a hole through the inside, you can't guess that ahead of time.
03:10So I just took thought process, and I think that she can bludgeon this field if she runs her race.
03:16One other horse I want to mention as we finish up is the number one, Will Venn.
03:20This is a horse who had won three races in a row, including a graded stakes race at Del Mar last year.
03:27And then she went over and faced a really tough group in the Edgewood.
03:31And one of the better horses in training for a lot of this year was Nitrogen.
03:35So I don't really hold it against her, Angela, that she finished fit that day because she had a pretty wide trip in that race against a good group.
03:43And maybe the first, second, third, fourth place finishers, any of them would probably be pretty like logical contenders in here.
03:50And I agree with that part.
03:52She didn't really make her presence felt.
03:54It's just that I don't know if she deserves to be bet the way that she's going to be off that kind of effort.
03:59Yeah, it would be anything prior that you would be betting her on.
04:02And if you're going to go on recent form, you can't help but look at that last race by thought process and think that she's really come back strong at age three and she is going to be double tough.
04:11So for Angela, thought process is the one.
04:14I'll give Will then a little bit of a look, but I need some price on Will then if I'm going to be able to bet her in this race.
