01:18Introducing the opponent fighting out of the red corner, professional record,
01:2218 wins, no defeats, 15 wins coming by way of knockout.
01:27From Toronto, Ontario, Canada, tipping the scales at 139.5 pounds,
01:35Arthur, the Wolf, Biarslanov!
01:44Sorry, me too. In the dressing room, I want a clean fight.
01:49Good luck.
01:50Good luck.
01:55And we take a look at the tail of the tape for our next contest.
01:58Arthur Biarslanov and Antonio Collado.
02:01See Collado enjoying the reach advantage in this one.
02:05Collado says this is going to be like when they called Sandor Martin to step in
02:10to face Teofimo Lopez. He is confident of springing a major upset here tonight.
02:16Orbi Arslanov, who, as we've been talking about,
02:19now ranked in the top ten by two of the four major sanctioning bodies.
02:23Now, Corey Collado is from Quintana de la Orden, which is in La Mancha, Spain,
02:28which means we have a literal man of La Mancha in the ring tonight.
02:31If you guys think I have enough restraint not to make a Don Quixote joke,
02:35I'm just going to tell you that Collado is tilting at a windmill
02:38that's shaped like Arthur Biarslanov tonight, because he's a long shot.
02:48Biarslanov, as we mentioned, starting to regain some of that buzz
02:51that he enjoyed within Canada specifically, of course, coming out of the Olympics,
02:56a Pan Am Games gold medal.
02:58The spotlight was on him between 2015 to 2017.
03:04Now it seems like the broader boxing audience is starting to come on board
03:09when it comes to the world.
03:10Yeah, absolutely. It just took him a little time to find his groove,
03:13to find a consistent training base.
03:15He was back and forth between Montreal and Toronto for a while.
03:17He's fighting over in UAE for a while.
03:19But again, since he's been back here in Montreal training
03:21and also fighting here consistently in Montreal,
03:23that climb through the rankings is not a coincidence.
03:26It's a direct result of the fact that he has a stable training base
03:30and a stable promotional managerial situation.
03:32Check right hook there from Biarslanov,
03:35who just buries a left hand in the midsection of Collado,
03:38the former Spanish lightweight champion.
03:41Pulling off an eight-round decision win over Otto Gámez in March 8th of this year.
03:47You know, we've seen early, like we understand that Collado doesn't have big punching power,
03:56but he has figured out very early on that his best chance in this fight is to land that straight right hand.
04:01That's the only thing that's going to keep Biarslanov opposite.
04:04Landed a sweeping right hand, but after getting caught by a tremendous uppercut from Biarslanov,
04:10with his back against the ropes as we're inside the final minute of a high-paced opening round.
04:16Biarslanov not taking his time here, and this one could be over early.
04:22Collado up at the count of eight, but the wolf is tasting blood here in the opening round.
04:36And you can hear Collado's coaches from the corner telling him to move.
04:39They're saying, muebete, muebete, move, move.
04:41And he's deciding to do the opposite.
04:44He's just deciding to stand here and fight, which is actually a better chance in this bout.
04:48Hard right hook to the body, and he brings it up top as well.
04:51As Collado slumps to the mat.
04:59Collado looking for guidance in his corner.
05:02He has found no answers here in the opening round.
05:06Can he make it out of the opening round?
05:08He is coming right at Biarslanov.
05:10You've got to hand it to Collado.
05:13Give him marks for bravery, but that was as dominant an opening round as you will see from the wolf.
05:20Absolutely.
05:21Arthur Biarslanov, you don't think of one specific thing he does well, or that he's great at, but he does a lot of things so well.
05:31He puts the package together, and he is very difficult to deal with.
05:34Again, especially if you're a guy like Collado.
05:36So now, the keys to victory for Biarslanov.
05:38Set the pace of the fight.
05:39Rely on his speed advantage because he is always in very good shape.
05:43Three, finish the fight if the opportunity presents itself.
05:46For Collado, don't exchange too early in the fight.
05:48That one's out the window because he's been trying to exchange every chance he gets.
05:51Double the jab to the extent that he throws it, which he has not thrown it very much.
05:54And two, if he gets to the second half of the fight, takes some risks.
05:58But he decided he was going to do that early on.
06:01It paid off, but he also paid for it.
06:03Here he is, under a withering assault from Biarslanov, having to take a knee.
06:06It was not one single punch that put him down, but it was just the accumulation and just the relentlessness.
06:13It's round two underway.
06:20Collado on the canvas twice in the opening round.
06:24As Arthur Biarslanov taking full advantage of the short notice opponent, Antonio Collado, who goes down for a third time.
06:35You see, you see, you see Biarslanov really setting down on that right hook to the body.
06:39And I don't know that Collado has ever seen anything like this in a professional boxing group.
06:48You can see Collado more than willing to engage, but there is a lot going on right now.
06:53You see the 10-7 round in the opening round as scored by our French colleague, Matt Cassavant.
06:59And I am not certain that we will need his score for the second round.
07:06Collado understands what he's up against.
07:08And his bearing all week.
07:09He's been very confident.
07:10You hear him at the news conference and he said, look, I know I'm here for a reason.
07:14God has put me here.
07:15I am made for this moment to come upset.
07:17Arthur Biarslanov.
07:18But thinking it is, but he's never been in the ring with Arthur Biarslanov.
07:21So it's one thing to think it's another thing to do it.
07:23But to your point, Corey, you have to give him credit because he didn't come here to try to just survive.
07:28He didn't come here to run and try to just make 12 rounds, make 10 rounds, maybe win five and a half or six of them.
07:34He understands he has to fight on the front foot if he has any chance.
07:38But he's also paying for it.
07:41Biarslanov warned for a shot behind the head.
07:44A brief reprieve for Collado.
07:46And now Biarslanov right back on top of him.
07:49Collado said that this fight would be like two battleships meeting in the center of the ring.
07:54And he has indeed met Biarslanov head on.
07:57Just unfortunately, it's been with his back against the ropes as Biarslanov just wails away once more.
08:03He saw the straight left there, Corey, that started that sequence.
08:06And that will not be ruled a knockdown as the official has ruled that that shot was behind the head.
08:13Collado in some discomfort here.
08:26Less than a minute left to go here in the second round.
08:29Biarslanov still stabbing away to the body.
08:33And DiColado is still coming forward behind that lead right hand.
08:36He has decided that the jab is not what's going to open things up for him.
08:39It's going to be the lead right hand that he can stick it between Biarslanov's gloves.
08:43He can create other opportunities.
08:46Final 30 seconds of the second round as Collado offers up another right hand.
08:57And that sequence right there, Corey, is the fight sort of in a nutshell.
09:01Collado putting everything he had behind a right hand and it barely makes Biarslanov blink.
09:05Biarslanov setting down on that right hook to the body and it forces Collado to get on the move.
09:11See a cut on the outside of the eye of Biarslanov as he lands one more right hook.
09:16And that will do it for round two.
09:19Back live here at the Montreal Casino as we take a look at the corner of Arthur Biarslanov.
09:37Now dealing with a cut on the outside of the eye being dealt with by Sam DiColado.
09:42You know, Corey, back in the old bare-knuckle boxing days, you would call that drawing first blood.
09:51Here you see Biarslanov just stalking Collado.
09:54Collado hands up, throwing big punches, trying to find ways to keep Biarslanov off him.
09:59But again, it's one thing in theory to throw these big punches to keep Biarslanov from smothering you.
10:04Something else to actually have to do it inside the ring.
10:08It's round three now underway.
10:23Antonio Collado just trying to hang in there here against Arthur Biarslanov who has had him down a number of times.
10:32And Collado on unsteady legs here already.
10:35Yeah, you saw that big right hook to the body, Corey, forcing Collado to take sort of a false step.
10:39That wouldn't really bother him.
10:41And that bothered him even more as he is down on the mat and in agony.
10:46Four, five, six, three, two, seven, eight, nine.
10:55Collado staggers to his feet, but again, an ethical decision there to take Collado out of a fight that he would have continued in.
11:04There was no need the Wolf too much for Collado tonight.
11:08No, and Collado's corner is furious.
11:10They think that was a blow behind the head.
11:11We'll see what the replay says.
11:13But overall, again, it's just that Collado was game.
11:17He was very eager.
11:18Had a game plan that allowed him to do as well as he could possibly have done.
11:23But again, just the gap in talent, speed, skill, and overall strength is too wide.
11:39There's Biarslinov jabbing to the body and sort of a cuffing right hand.
11:44It hits Collado where the neck meets the base of the skull.
11:48So an easy night for Arthur Biarslinov with the exception of the cut, which of course will stand in the way of Biarslinov getting back in the ring extremely quickly.
12:02But nonetheless, in every other sense, exactly how Biarslinov would have wanted this fight to go.
12:07Yes, so we won't see Biarslinov back in the ring on June 27th.
12:11But again, he also did what you're supposed to do with a late replacement opponent.
12:16You don't let the guy hang around.
12:17You don't let him get confident.
12:19You don't let him think he has a chance to win.
12:22When you know you have the guy outclassed, you work your game plan, and you take him out of there, which is what Arthur Biarslinov did.
12:30Well, Antonio Collado, true to his word, he went for it in this fight, Morgan.
12:39But again, just heavily outclassed by a true world-class operator in Arthur Biarslinov,
12:49who is just waiting for the opportunity against the right opponent to truly solidify that.
12:54Yeah, and for Biarslinov, again, this is a bit of a curveball for him as well.
12:58He was expecting a sort of higher level fight to defend his NABF title.
13:02Had some opponents pull out, wind up with the late replacement opponent, so it turns into a stay busy fight.
13:08But again, he did what he's supposed to do in this situation in a stay busy fight.
13:12Got his job done, won the fight, and looked good.
13:15All right, let's make this one official.
13:17Let's send it back down to the ring.
13:19Ladies and gentlemen, official chronometer, 38 seconds of the third round.
13:23Yvon Goulet stops the fight, declaring the winner by TKO, Arthur Biarslinov.
13:46So, Arthur Biarslinov improves to 19-0, that being the 16th knockout of his professional career.
13:56It's a parade of knockdowns here tonight until this one was waved off.
14:01Antonio Collado was up for the assignment, but ultimately proved much too difficult for Collado here tonight.
14:10Again, give Collado credit.
14:13Here's a guy 19-0 with 19-1, but with only three knockouts to his credit.
14:18And the easy thing for him to do, again, would have been to try to make the ring big, to run, to hold, to clinch, just try to survive,
14:26get this fight into the second half by any means necessary, and hope to steal sort of a boring decision win.
14:35But he came out.
14:36He came to fight.
14:37His power is not super impressive by world-class boxer standards, but he did as much as he could with the power that he had.
14:44But it was just not enough for a guy of Biarslinov's caliber.
14:49Well, Biarslinov, as we talked about, I mean, this wave of press that he's enjoying and the increase in the esteem surrounding him,
14:59it goes hand-in-hand with the increase in activity.
15:02Biarslinov no longer struggling to get fights.
15:05One of the more active, high-level Canadian fighters in the sport right now.
15:09Yeah, and that's always been the issue with him, even going back to his amateur days when he would have these conflicts with the National Federation
15:16about where he's supposed to train and who he's supposed to train with.
15:19But again, now that he is here consistently fighting every two or three months,
15:24you are seeing the results both in the rankings and in his skill set.
15:28Great job.
