00:00Hi, I'm going to show you how to assemble the hygge red light therapy mask and neck piece
00:06which we just unpacked today. My two-year-old son Spencer is here to help as well. Now this
00:12is everything that came in the box apart from a little bit of wrapping. There's the face mask
00:16itself, there's the neck piece, there's eyepieces that can need to be assembled onto the face mask,
00:21there's the central control and charging port, brief instruction template, velcro straps for
00:29the face and neck piece, a USB A to C cable, doesn't come with the battery, I just put that here to
00:37show you how easy it is to charge, as well as a bag that you can put everything in at the end,
00:42although personally I think I'd prefer to put the stuff back into the box. So I might just set
00:46aside the bag for a moment, we won't be using that. Now the FUKA red light therapy mask and neck piece
00:54has advantages over a number of its competitors in the field, there are actually quite a few of
00:58these type of devices on the market. However this also, in addition to the face mask, also combines
01:04a neck piece for the decolletage, which not a lot of other competitors do. In addition it doesn't just
01:11give red light therapy, so it gives both 630 and 660 nanometers of red light therapy. It also gives
01:18infrared or technically near infrared light therapy at 850 nanometers, which not a lot of devices combine
01:24both red and near infrared light. Now benefits of the combining near infrared light as well, is that
01:32it penetrates deep into the tissues, so it penetrates up to 50 millimeters into tissues, it increases
01:37fibroblast stimulation, and so therefore also increases collagen production, elastin production,
01:43and improves skin texture and tone, and reduces the signs of aging. And this is in addition to the
01:49anti-inflammatory and pain relieving effects that red light and infrared light therapy can have. Now,
01:58firstly, there's a boat, as my son has just pointed out. Firstly, we will assemble the face mask and then
02:09we'll show the central control port. So given that this is the first use, it comes with a plastic sleeve
02:16that you just need to take off, put that aside and that will be thrown away. Now this is the charging
02:23port, so I'll just remove this rubber band, sorry charging cord I should say, I'll just remove the rubber
02:29band that came to the charging cord. Now these eyepieces do need to go on, and once they're on you
02:35don't, you only need to take them off every now and again, I guess to give them a gentle clean and a wash.
02:39So they need to go on the inside, just need to mould it, there you go, so it's like that. And then do the
02:50same this side here, just like that. And then when you're finished, if you did want to give it a rinse,
03:00it's easily removed. Now Hooker strongly recommends that when you use this, that your skin is dry and
03:08free from any makeup or moisturiser or fluids. So you shouldn't be getting too much residue on it
03:12anyway. Now the next step is to attach the Velcro straps. Here's the neck piece, so it comes in this
03:19little bag here. And there are four Velcro straps, two round ones which are for the, for the face piece.
03:30I just need to orientate them in a second, and then there's two thin long ones. One is for the neck, now
03:38the shorter of the two is meant to be for the neck, so I'll put that aside there for a second, and then
03:43this will be for the head piece. Now you just do need to orientate yourself initially with this, because
03:55one has, yeah, so make sure they stick together. Yep, so this one needs to go this side, and this one
04:02needs to go this side, and it's pretty simple. You just put it through there, Velcro, put it through there,
04:09Velcro, same on this side. Easily adjustable if you're finding that it's not quite the right fit.
04:22And then it goes over like that, and there you go. Now this extra piece here, who says you don't even
04:28necessarily need to use it, but if you're wanting a little bit more support for the head.
04:31That'll just go there. Actually, sorry, my apologies. Once again, the benefit of this is that this is
04:48very easily adjustable. You need to go there, and then this goes through here.
05:01There's the head piece. Now the neck piece.
05:07Very simple. This pretty much goes around the neck, so you just need to
05:11put this here. And then when you put this around the neck, this will just go like that. There you go.
05:25Okay, so those are the Velcro straps. Now I'll show you the central control monitor.
05:31So I'll just demonstrate here, very easily they're charged. There's two C ports.
05:34You can plug it into either of the two ports. There you go. It's charging. So very simple to charge.
05:44So that's just a USB-C port. Now turning it on, this top button here. Now it's important to realize
05:51you actually need to keep your finger on it for two to three seconds. So if you just push it
05:55briefly, it won't go on. So keep your finger on it until it powers up.
05:59Now it automatically defaults to 10 minutes. So this unit has got three settings. So if you push
06:06the button again, it goes 10 minutes. So it can either go 10 minutes, 15 minutes, or five minutes.
06:12Now a minor criticism I do have of this unit is that it does default to just 10 minutes.
06:17So it doesn't go to, so let's say you used it on a five minute setting. It will still default back to
06:21the 10 minute next time you use it. And the other thing too is that there's no delay. You just,
06:25once it powers up, it just starts counting down straight away. So while you're attaching
06:29everything, you might just want to reset it. For the demonstration here, we'll have it going
06:33in five minutes. So power button and also the timing, five minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes.
06:38Now this middle button here is just the brightness of the actual lights. Once again, a little minor
06:44criticism is that the default is at 25%, push it once goes to 50%, three, twice, sorry, 75%.
06:52And then a third time it'll go to a hundred percent. And who does recommend that you use it a hundred
06:56percent settings. So we'll default at 25%, 50, 75, 100%. Now this bottom button is very important.
07:05So if, Hugo does recommend that you use the light at a steady frequency. So its default is just at a
07:10steady frequency. However, if you do want the light to pulse, you've got three different settings.
07:15So push it once and it'll go to 73 hertz, twice, 146 hertz, three times, 292 hertz. This is if you're
07:23wanting pulsing light and a fourth time, it'll just go back to steady light.
07:27Now, the other very important thing here is the default setting is red light, but if,
07:31say 630 and 660 nanometers. But if you want to use infrared or slash near infrared light at 850
07:38nanometers, you need to keep your thumb or your finger on it for a couple of seconds and it'll go
07:44to combine both red and near infrared light. This unit will not let you use near, near infrared light
07:49or infrared light on its own. It has to combine it either with red light or red light on its own.
07:56And then to power it off, just finger on it for a couple of seconds. So once again, just briefly,
08:02turning it on a couple of seconds. The default setting will be 10 minutes, steady light, red
08:12and 25% brightness. So power it up to 100% brightness. And then if you want to combine
08:17the infrared light, just push that. So pretty simple to use. So I'll just turn it off again when we
08:26attach it to the pieces. So attaching them to the pieces is quite easy. I often come with
08:36with connection ports, USB-C connection ports, and you can connect it to either side. So it doesn't
08:40matter which side is the face, which side is the neck. Do have it turned off when you're plugging them in.
08:45Plug them in. Plug them in. Turn it on.
08:53And there you go. The lights are working. So I shall demonstrate to you putting it on.
09:11There you go. Snug as a rug. They do recommend that you have it on fairly snug,
09:20but not too tight. And then the neck piece here.
09:26So this is meant to go onto bare skin, but I'll just demonstrate over my shirt.
09:32And I am now ready for a 10 minute session. Oh, now one important thing that I did neglect to mention
09:56earlier, is that Hooger does recommend that if you're using red light on its own, which is what
10:00I'm using at the moment, that it'd be a 10 minute session. But if you're using both red and infrared
10:06light, that it should be a five minute session. So I'm all ready to look younger in a few minutes time.
