00:00In Cuba, the first regular session of the National Assembly in its 10th legislature began on Wednesday in Havana.
00:06Headed by revolutionary leader Raul Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel,
00:11the session aims at assessing the compliance and impact of the government's program to correct distortions and reboot the country's economy.
00:19Until Friday 18th, members of Parliament will also debate the economic results of the first half of 2025 with a view to updating the state budget.
00:29The first item on Wednesday's agenda was the formal swearing-in ceremony for 18 new members of Parliament.
00:36In addition, the program will address the approval of the 2025-2028 foreign policy guidelines,
00:42as well as an update on the progress of the government's program to restore the national power system.
00:48The state budget also had a permanent monthly surplus throughout the year amounting to 27 billion pesos.
01:03. The gross revenues plan was also over-fulfilled, including tax revenues by 6 percent.
01:12. As a result of tax adjustments, which are the measures that have been adopted and reported to this assembly,
01:2021 billion pesos were collected.
01:23. Greater control and budgetary discipline were implemented at all levels,
01:29and this resulted in subsidies that we didn't need to pay out.
01:34Progress was also made regarding the fiscal and tax discipline control.
01:42The Cuban Prime Minister highlighted the government's program that was carried out
01:46. To introduce special tax benefits for investments in sectors of national interest for the population,

02:06. As reported in December, actions were implemented to strengthen the incentives at the Marial Special Development Zone,
