00:00This is the one event, the one major, where weather plays such an enormous role in everything that's going on.

00:08And as much as people want to try, Keith, and say, all right, it's looking like a.m. p.m. or it's looking like p.m. a.m.

00:14and it's looking like the wind's going to go here and it's looking like this.

00:17Keith, it is so hard at these Open Championship courses to try to track this stuff out because it can change like that in an hour.

00:26I mean, you are right on the coastline of the North Atlantic Ocean.

00:30I mean, you think the weather changes around here quickly?

00:33Imagine what it's like up there.

00:35You know, it's just one of those things.

00:37And you've got to keep in mind a couple of things about the Open Championship.

00:40One of the things that makes it so great is that everyone goes off the first tee in one run.

00:45They're going to start at 1.35 in the morning and they're going to keep going all day.

00:48That's on East Coast time.

00:50They're going to keep going all day.

00:52I mean, if there's a delay, if there's anything, there is no a.m., p.m., p.m., a.m.

00:56I mean, yes, there's different tee times for guys in the two days.

00:59But really what it comes down to is that you've got to get a little lucky with the weather.

01:03I tell people all the time, unless there's something really obvious.

01:06I mean, Troon caught us by surprise last year.

01:08Unless there's something really obvious, diversify the card.

01:12Don't put your eggs all in one basket.

01:13This is golf betting.

01:15There's a lot that can go on and even more that can happen in one of these championships.

01:20Anything else about the course non-weather-wise that could be a little bit different from 2019?

01:25I saw some really big out-of-bounds and fescues people were sending pictures of on 18 today.

01:31Is there anything crazy about Portrush that they've added?

01:35Well, I think probably the most important PSA we could give out to the Golf Wednesday folks and the faithful today

01:40is that if you watched the Scottish Open last week, this is going to be nothing like that.

01:45Last week, it was bombs away.

01:47You could play from the fescue.

01:48They had huge greens.

01:49And then there was a ton of roll.

01:51And, you know, this week, it's going to get wet.

01:53Right now, it's got a little bit of bounce to the ground, but it's going to get wet.

01:57It's going to soften up a little bit.

01:58The greens are about half the size.

02:00And then when you can think about the runoffs and the bumps and the swales and everything else,

02:03they're probably even smaller than that.

02:05You've got a couple boundary holes.

02:07You've got internal out-of-bounds.

02:09This, I mean, look at that last top 10.

02:11I know we talked about this in the open preview show.

02:14But just the top five guys like Finau, Lowry, you mentioned the Irish Bear.

02:18You've got Lee Westwood, Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood.

02:21These guys don't miss.

02:23They hit it straight.

02:24They're straight flushers of the golf ball.

02:26You've got to keep the ball in play here.

02:28So if you think it's like last week and we're just going to, like,

02:30got her up and all over the place, you've got another thing coming.

02:33You've got to keep it in play.

02:34And you've got to hit these putting surfaces.
