00:01It's a major blow to a notorious pro-Russian hacking group.
00:05Europol says it's disrupted the infrastructure of No Name 057, a cybercrime network suspected
00:11of a string of attacks on Ukraine and its allies.
00:15The international operation, codenamed Eastwood, took down over 100 computer systems across
00:21the globe, with much of the group's central server infrastructure now said to be offline.
00:27It saw authorities from the EU, Switzerland and the US coordinate simultaneous raids on
00:32the network.
00:33Germany has now issued six arrest warrants for suspects in Russia, two believed to be key
00:38leaders.
00:40Arrests were also made in France and Spain.
00:43According to Dutch officials, the group carried out multiple denial-of-service attacks, attempts
00:48to overload and crash websites, initially targeting Ukrainian institutions.
00:52But their focus has since shifted to countries supporting the war-torn country in its defence
00:57against Russia.
00:59Switzerland was hit hard by No Name 057.
01:03Over 200 websites in the country were attacked.
01:06The group also targeted a video address by Ukrainian President Ronald Misalensky to the Swiss Parliament
01:11in June of 2023 and this year's Eurovision Song Contest held in Basel.
01:16Italian authorities say the cybercrime network had a central line of command and control in
01:21the Russian Federation.
01:23Since the war in Ukraine began, cyber attacks from both Moscow and Kyiv have escalated, operations
01:29that are destructive to both infrastructure and civilians.
