00:00Six individuals, including a husband and wife, who are founders of the Ihati Marital Motivation Group and one of their children, have been remanded for three days.
00:12Magistrate Amira Mastura Kamis issued the order after allowing the application from the police against the four women and two men, aged between 26 and 47.
00:22The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for Outraging Modesty, Section 294 of the Penal Code for Public Indecency, and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act, 1955.
00:37The couple and their child, as well as a participant of the motivation program, marketed as a motivational self-love retreat that allegedly hosted semi-nude dancing and spiritual cleansing baths, were represented by lawyer Datuk M. Reza Hassan.
00:54He told reporters that an application will be filed to review the magistrate's decision, as one of his clients had submitted a medical report due to illness, but it was not accepted by the court.
01:04On Tuesday, the Ihati founders were detained after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters.
01:12They have denied allegations made against their programs, claiming that the modules were aimed at helping women facing challenges in their marital relationships, including confusion about their bodies and emotions.
